Riding out the storm
Instead of lying around tossing and turning, I made the decision that I’d rather be more awake than exhausted. Although it seems counter-intuitive, what I do now when restless legs starts is to get up and have a coffee and do something for a while. I find that it wakes me up enough that I am able to lay still and rest my body and even fall asleep when exhausted. Instead of being up all night, I am now able to get a few hours sleep using this method and feel more rested and able to cope with it. I also find the duration of restless legs is less. When restless legs wake you up, get up and have a coffee and repeat the process.

Update April 20, 2023 7:15am If you go to bed and your legs start twitching, get up and have a coffee and lay down again. Keep doing this until the twitching stops. When restless legs wake you up, get up and have a coffee and go right back to bed.
For those who don’t like the taste of coffee try it with sugar and milk. I like mine sweet, 3 and half tablespoons of sugar and milk. I also routinely have a cigarette with my coffee.
Night worker Nappucino. Don’t try to stay awake for your whole lunch break. It takes 20 minutes for the caffeine to work. Have a coffee then lay down or just close your eyes and rest for 20 minutes. You will feel refreshed enough to keep working.
Pain disruptor. acetominophen and ibuprophen. One is for the site of the pain, one is for the pain center in the brain.
