Zechariah

1.1 In the eighth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of YHVH came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,

1.2 YHVH was angry with your fathers.

1.3 And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith YHVH of hosts; Return unto me, saith YHVH of hosts, and I will return unto you, saith YHVH of hosts.

1.4 Be not like your fathers, to whom the former prophets cried, saying, Thus saith YHVH of hosts, Turn ye now from your evil ways, and from your evil doings; for they hearkened not, nor hearkened unto me, saith YHVH.

1.5 Where are your fathers? And the prophets, who live forever?

1.6 But my words and my statutes, which I commanded my servants the prophets, did not your fathers overtake? And they returned and said, As YHVH of hosts thought to do unto us, according to our ways, and according to our doings, so hath he done unto us.

1.7 On the twenty-fourth day of the tenth month, which is the month of Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of YHVH came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, the prophet, saying,

1.8 I saw at night, and behold, a man riding on a human horse, and he stood among the myrtle trees in the field, and behind him were red horses, bleating and white.

1.9 And I said, What are these, my lord? And the angel that talked with me said unto me, I will shew thee what these are.

1.10 And the man that stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are they whom YHVH hath sent to walk to and fro in the earth.

1.11 And they answered the angel of YHVH that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked through the land, and, behold, all the land is still and quiet.

1.12 And the angel of YHVH answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against whom thou hast had indignation these seventy years?

1.13 And YHVH answered the angel, saying, Good things, and comforting things,

1.14 And the angel that spake unto me said, Thus saith YHVH of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy.

1.15 And I will be very angry with the complacent nations, whom I have angered a little, and they have helped to do evil.

1.16 Therefore thus saith YHVH; I will return to Jerusalem with mercies. my house shall be built in it, saith YHVH of hosts; and hope shall be established upon Jerusalem.

1.17 And he cried again, saying, Thus saith YHVH of hosts; YHVH shall yet comfort Zion, and shall yet choose Jerusalem.

2.1 Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, four horns.

2.2 And I said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these? And he said unto me, These are the horns which have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.

2.3 And YHVH showed me four deaf men.

2.4 And he said, What come these to do? And he said, These are the horns that have scattered Judah, so that no man lifted up his head. and these are come to terrify the nations with the horns of the nations that lift up the horn into the land of Judah to sojourn there.

2.5 Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, a man with a measuring line in his hand.

2.6 And he said, Whither goest thou? And he said unto me, Measure Jerusalem, to see how broad it is, and how long it is.

2.7 And, behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went forth to meet him.

2.8 And he said, If a word run to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited in a sabbath, because of the multitude of men and beasts therein.

2.9 And I, saith YHVH, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and I will be for glory in the midst of her.

2.10 Alas, alas, and flee ye from the land of the north, saith YHVH. for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of heaven, saith YHVH.

2.11 Woe to Zion, the daughter of Babylon, who dwells in the land of the Philistines!

2.12 For thus saith YHVH of hosts; For glory hath he sent me unto the nations that spoiled you. for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

2.13 For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil unto their servants. and ye shall know that YHVH of hosts hath sent me.

2.14 Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Zion. for, behold, I come, and will dwell in the midst of thee, saith YHVH.

2.15 And many nations shall be joined unto YHVH in that day, and they shall be my people, and I will dwell in the midst of thee. and thou shalt know that YHVH of hosts hath sent me unto thee.

2.16 And YHVH gave Judah his portion in the holy land, and chose Jerusalem again.

2.17 Let all flesh flee from the presence of YHVH, for he is come out of his holy habitation.

3.1 And I saw Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of YHVH, and Satan standing at his right hand to tempt him.

3.2 And YHVH said unto Satan, YHVH rebuke thee, Satan. and YHVH rebuke thee, which hath chosen Jerusalem. is not this a shadow of fire?

3.3 And Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.

3.4 And he answered and said unto them that stood before him, Take off the filthy garments from him. And he said unto him, Behold, I have caused thine iniquity to pass from thee, and clothe thee with linen.

3.5 And he said, Let them set a clean turban upon his head. and let them set the clean turban upon his head, and clothe him. and the angel of YHVH stood by.

3.6 And the angel of YHVH spake unto Joshua, saying,

3.7 Thus saith YHVH of hosts; If thou wilt walk in my ways, and if thou wilt keep my charge, then thou shalt also judge my house, and shalt also keep my courts, and I will give thee steps between these pillars.

3.8 Hear now, O Joshua the high priest, you and your companions who sit before you, for they are men of wonder. For behold, I will bring forth my servant Zemach.

3.9 For behold the stone which I have set before Joshua, upon one stone are seven eyes. behold, I am the opener thereof, saith YHVH of hosts, and I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.

3.10 In that day, says YHVH of hosts, you will call one to his neighbor under the vine and under the fig tree.

4.1 And the angel that spake unto me again, and wakened me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep.

4.2 And he said unto me, What seest thou? And he said, I have seen, and, behold, a candlestick of gold, and a bowl upon the top thereof, and seven lamps thereof, seven on it, and seven sockets for the lamps which are upon the top thereof.

4.3 And two olive trees on it, one on the right side of the gate, and one on the left side.

4.4 And I answered and said unto the angel that talked with me, What are these, my lord?

4.5 And the angel that talked with me answered and said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

4.6 Then he answered and said unto me, This is the word of YHVH unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith YHVH of hosts.

4.7 Who art thou, the great mountain, before Zerubbabel, to make straight, and to bring forth the headstone, that thou mayest be gracious unto it?

4.8 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

4.9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house, and his hands shall finish it. and thou shalt know that YHVH of hosts hath sent me unto you.

4.10 For who has despised the small day, and rejoiced, and seen the stone laid in the hand of Zerubbabel? These are the eyes of YHVH, which run to and fro throughout the whole earth.

4.11 And I answered and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick, and upon the branch thereof?

4.12 And I answered again, and said unto him, What are these two olive branches, which are in the two hands, and the golden pipes that bear the gold upon them?

4.13 And he said unto me, Knowest thou not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

4.14 And he said, These are the two sons of Yizhar, who stand against YHVH of the whole earth.

5.1 Then I returned, and lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, a flying cloud

5.2 And he said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I see a flying scroll, twenty cubits long, and ten cubits broad.

5.3 And he said unto me, This is the goddess that goeth forth over the face of all the earth. for every one that stealeth from her is clean, and every one that sweareth by her is clean.

5.4 I will bring it forth, saith YHVH of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name. and it shall lodge in the midst of his house, and in his house, and in his timber, and in his stones.

5.5 And the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what this is that goeth forth.

5.6 And he said, What is it? And he said, This is the abomination that cometh forth. And he said, This is their eye in all the land.

5.7 And behold, a field of ore was brought, and this was a woman sitting within the field.

5.8 And he said, This is wickedness. and he cast it into the pit, and cast the millstone into its mouth.

5.9 Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, two women came out, and the wind was in their wings; and behold, they had wings like the wings of a stork, and she lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.

5.10 And he said unto the angel, Tell me, whither are these that carry thee?

5.11 And he said to Eli, Build her a house in the land of Shinar, and prepare it, and set her there upon her altar.

6.1 Then I sat down and lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, four chariots came out from between two mountains, and the mountains were mountains of bronze.

6.2 In the first chariot were red horses, and in the second chariot black horses.

6.3 And in the third chariot white horses, and in the fourth chariot bay horses,

6.4 And I answered and said unto the angel, What are these, my lord?

6.5 And the angel answered and said unto me, These are the four spirits of heaven, which go forth from the throne of YHVH of all the earth.

6.6 Wherein the black horses went forth into the north country, and the white ones went forth after them, and the dappled ones went forth into the land of Yemen.

6.7 And the valiant men went forth, and sought to go to walk through the land. And he said, Go, walk through the land. and ye shall walk through the land.

6.8 And he called unto me, and spake unto me, saying, Behold, they that go forth into the north country have laid my spirit in the north country.

6.9 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

6.10 From the exiles, Chaldea, Tobiah, and Jedaiah, you came on that day, and you came to the house of Josiah son of Zephaniah, who had come from Babylon.

6.11 And thou shalt take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest.

6.12 And thou shalt say unto him, Thus saith YHVH of hosts, Behold, a man shall grow up, whose name is Sprout, and under him shall he grow up, and build the temple of YHVH.

6.13 And he shall build the temple of YHVH; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne, and he shall be a priest upon his throne. and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

6.14 And the crown shall be for Halam, and for Tobijah, and for Jedaiah, and for Chanan the son of Zephaniah, for a memorial in the house of YHVH.

6.15 And they that are far off shall come and build in the temple of YHVH. and ye shall know that YHVH of hosts hath sent me unto you. and it shall come to pass, if ye will hearken unto the voice of YHVH your God.

7.1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of Darius the king, that the word of YHVH came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, in the month of Chislev,

7.2 And Bethel sent the prince of Asher, and the king, and his men, to entreat the face of YHVH.

7.3 Say to the priests who are in the house of YHVH of hosts and to the prophets, saying, I will weep in the fifth month, the month of mourning, as I have done for many years.

7.4 And the word of YHVH of hosts came unto me, saying,

7.5 He said to all the people of the land and to the priests, "Because you fasted and mourned on the fifth and seventh days, and these seventy years I have fasted for myself,

7.6 And if you eat and if you drink, are you not the ones who eat and the ones who drink?

7.7 Are not the words which YHVH hath proclaimed by the former prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and in peace, and her cities round about, and the south and the lowland inhabited?

7.8 And the word of YHVH came unto Zechariah, saying,

7.9 Thus saith YHVH of hosts, Judge ye true judgment, and shew mercy and compassion every man to his brother.

7.10 And you shall not oppress the widow, the fatherless, the stranger, or the poor; and you shall not imagine any evil against your brother in your hearts.

7.11 And they refused to listen, and turned a stubborn shoulder, and stopped their ears from hearing.

7.12 And their heart was filled with awe, because they heard the law, and the words which YHVH of hosts had sent by his spirit through the former prophets. And there was great wrath from YHVH of hosts.

7.13 And it shall come to pass, as he called, and they would not hear, so shall they call, and I will not hear, saith YHVH of hosts.

7.14 And I will scatter them among all the nations that have not known them, and the land will be desolate after them, and they will call it a pleasant land for its name.

8.1 And the word of YHVH of hosts came, saying,

8.2 Thus saith YHVH of hosts; I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great fury.

8.3 Thus saith YHVH; I am returned unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. and Jerusalem shall be called the city of truth, and the mountain of YHVH of hosts, the holy mountain.

8.4 Thus saith YHVH of hosts, Until old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his arm upon his shoulder, many days shall pass by.

8.5 And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the streets thereof.

8.6 Thus saith YHVH of hosts; For it shall be astonishment in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, even in mine eyes, saith YHVH of hosts.

8.7 Thus saith YHVH of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country.

8.8 And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.

8.9 Thus saith YHVH of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, which were in the day that the foundation of the house of YHVH of hosts was laid, the temple to be built.

8.10 For before those days there was no wages for man, nor was there any wages for beasts, and there was no peace for him that went out or came in, because of the tribulation. and I sent every man every man against his neighbour.

8.11 And now I will not be as in the former days unto the remnant of this people, saith YHVH of hosts.

8.12 For the seed of peace shall be. the vine shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew. and I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit all these things.

8.13 And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing. fear not, let your hands be strong.

8.14 For thus saith YHVH of hosts; As I thought to do you evil, to provoke your fathers to anger against me, saith YHVH of hosts, and I was not comforted.

8.15 Yes, I have purposed in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Do not be afraid.

8.16 These are the things that ye shall do. speak the truth every man to his neighbour, execute true and peaceful judgment in your gates.

8.17 And let none of you imagine evil against his neighbor in your hearts, and love no false oath. for all these things have I hated, saith YHVH.

8.18 And the word of YHVH of hosts came unto me, saying,

8.19 Thus saith YHVH of hosts; The fourth fast, and the fifth fast, and the seventh fast, and the tenth fast, shall be for the house of Judah joy and gladness, and good feasts; and they shall love truth and peace.

8.20 Thus saith YHVH of hosts, Until the peoples come, and the inhabitants of many cities

8.21 And they went and sat one by one, saying, Let us go, let us go to entreat the face of YHVH, and to seek YHVH of hosts. I also will go.

8.22 And many peoples and mighty nations came to seek YHVH of hosts in Jerusalem, and to entreat the favor of YHVH.

8.23 Thus saith YHVH of hosts, In those days shall ten men take hold of all the tribes of the nations, and shall take hold of the arm of a Jew, saying, Let us go with you. for we have heard that God is with you.

9.1 The burden of the word of YHVH is in the land of Hadorah, and Damascus is his offering. for YHVH is mindful of man, and of all the tribes of Israel.

9.2 And Hamath shall also border upon it, and Sidon. for it is very wise.

9.3 And she made a heap of straw for her, and heaped up silver as dust, and made it like the clay of the streets.

9.4 Behold, YHVH will inherit it, and will strike the sea with a plague, and it will be consumed with fire.

9.5 Ashkelon shall see and be afraid, and Gaza shall be afraid, and Ekron shall be ashamed. for her countenance shall be ashamed, and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not return.

9.6 And Mazer dwelt in Ashdod, and Kereth the chief of the Philistines.

9.7 And I will take away his blood from his mouth, and his snares from between his teeth. and he also shall be for our God, and shall be as a thousand in Judah, and the beginning of my destruction.

9.8 And I have set up a pillar for my house on every side, and no one will pass over it any more, for now I have seen with my own eyes.

9.9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; rejoice, O daughter of Jerusalem. behold, thy king cometh unto thee, righteous and having salvation; he is poor, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

9.10 And I will cut off the chariot from Ashurbanipal and the horse from Jerusalem; and the war bow shall be cut off, and the word of peace from the nations; and I will rule from sea to sea, and from the river to the ends of the earth.

9.11 You also, by the blood of your covenant, have sent forth your prisoners from a pit where there is no water.

9.12 Return to the fortress, prisoners of hope. Today also Magid Mishnah says, I will answer you.

9.13 For I have bent my bow to Judah, I have filled Ephraim with my bow, and I have stirred up thy sons, O Zion, against thy sons, O Greece, and have made thee like a mighty sword.

9.14 And YHVH shall be afraid of them, and shall go forth as lightning, and YHVH GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go forth in the storms of Yemen.

9.15 YHVH of hosts will defend them, and they will eat and shoot stones with slings, and they will drink wine like wine, and they will fill it like a bowl, like the altar.

9.16 And YHVH their God shall save them in that day as the flock of his people. for the stones of the crown shall be set upon his land.

9.17 For what is the good and what is the beauty of young grain and new wine that is stirred up in the vineyard?

10.1 Ask YHVH for rain in the time of trouble. YHVH will make firecrackers and showers of rain. He will give them grass in the field.

10.2 For the drunkards have spoken iniquity, and the diviners have seen lies, and the dreams of destruction have spoken vanity, and they have been deceived. therefore they have gone as sheep, they have been slain, because there is no evil.

10.3 My wrath is kindled against the wicked, and I will punish the treacherous. for YHVH of hosts hath visited his flock, the house of Judah, and made them as a horse of the field in the battle.

10.4 From him came the spear, from him the battle bow, from him came all who came together.

10.5 And they were like men in the battle, fighting in the open fields, because YHVH was with them, and they put the chariots to shame.

10.6 And I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and they that were carried away captive, because they had mercy, and they were as though they had not been forsaken. for I am YHVH their God, and I will heal them.

10.7 And Ephraim shall be as a mighty man, and their heart shall rejoice as with wine. and their children shall see, and rejoice; their heart shall rejoice in YHVH.

10.8 I will gather them together, for they are redeemed, and they shall increase as much as they increase.

10.9 And I will sow them among the peoples, and far off they shall remember, and their children shall live, and return.

10.10 And I will gather them that are returned out of the land of Egypt, and out of Assyria; and they shall return to the land of Gilead, and to Lebanon, and shall not be found among them.

10.11 And he passed through the sea of trouble, and smote the waves of the sea, and made all the deeps of the sea to be desolate. and he brought down the pride of Assyria, and the tribe of Egypt to depart.

10.12 And the women shall walk in YHVH, and in his name, saith YHVH.

11.1 Open your doors, Lebanon, and let the fire devour your cedars.

11.2 Howl the cypress, for the cedar is fallen, which the Edomites have robbed; howl the oaks of Bashan, for the forest of the jackal is fallen.

11.3 The voice of the howling of the wicked, for their glory is despoiled; the voice of the roaring of the wicked, for the glory of the Jordan is despoiled.

11.4 Thus saith YHVH my God, Shepherd the flock of the slaughter.

11.5 Those who buy them will kill them and will not be held guilty, and those who sell them will say, "Blessed be YHVH, and I will make them rich." And their neighbors will not pity them.

11.6 For I will no more have mercy on the inhabitants of the land, saith YHVH. and, behold, I will deliver every man into the hand of his neighbour, and into the hand of his king. and they shall smite the land, and I will not deliver them out of their hand.

11.7 And I fed the flock of the slaughter. therefore I afflicted the flock. And I took me two staffs. one I called Noam, and the other I called Ropes. and I fed the flock.

11.8 And I will destroy the three wicked in one month, and my soul shall be grieved for them, and their soul also shall be grieved for me.

11.9 And he said, I will not feed you. that which is dead shall die, and that which is wasted shall be wasted. and that which is left shall eat the flesh of her neighbour.

11.10 And I will take my staff, Noam, and cut it in pieces, to break my covenant which I have made with all the peoples.

11.11 And it shall be broken in that day. and the poor of the flock that keep me shall know that it is the word of YHVH.

11.12 And he said unto them, If it seem good unto you, give me my hire. and if not, withhold it, and weigh out my hire thirty pieces of silver.

11.13 And YHVH said unto me, Cast it unto the maker of the house of YHVH, the precious alabaster, which I have valued above them. and I will take the thirty pieces of silver, and cast it into the house of YHVH unto the maker.

11.14 And I will cut off my other staff, the cords, to break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel.

11.15 And YHVH said unto me, Take thee yet another instrument of evil. peradventure

11.16 For, behold, I will bring evil upon the land. the young man shall not seek, and the broken shall not be healed, and the strong shall not be strengthened, and the flesh of the living shall be eaten, and their bones shall be broken.

11.17 Woe to you, you idolaters! Forsake the flock! A sword is on your arm, and on your right eye! Your seed will wither and wither, and your right eye will be darkened.

12.1 The burden of the word of YHVH concerning Israel, saith YHVH, that stretched out the heavens, and laid the foundation of the earth, and formed the spirit of man within him.

12.2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a poisoned door to all the peoples round about; and Judah also shall be in the siege against Jerusalem.

12.3 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people. all her burdens shall be broken in pieces, and all the nations of the earth shall be gathered against her.

12.4 In that day, says YHVH, I will strike every horse with astonishment, and its rider with madness. I will open my eyes on the house of Judah, and I will strike every horse of the nations with confusion.

12.5 And the thousands of Judah shall say in their heart, I will strengthen myself, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, in YHVH of hosts their God.

12.6 In that day will I make the thousands of Judah like a fire in the wood, and like a torch of fire in the fire. and they shall devour on the right hand and on the left all the people round about. and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her place, in Jerusalem.

12.7 And YHVH saved the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David, and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, should not be magnified over Judah.

12.8 In that day YHVH will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that stumbleth among them in that day shall be as David, and the house of David as God, as the angel of YHVH before them.

12.9 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

12.10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and supplications. and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and shall mourn for him as one mourneth for an only son, and shall bewail him as one bewaileth his firstborn.

12.11 In that day the mourning in Jerusalem will be as great as the mourning for Hadad Rimmon in the valley of Megiddo.

12.12 And the land mourned, families by families. the family of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan by itself, and their wives by themselves.

12.13 The family of the house of Levi alone, and their wives alone; the family of the Shimeites alone, and their wives alone.

12.14 All the families that remain, each family alone, and their wives alone.

13.1 In that day a fountain shall be opened to the house of David and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem for sin and for atonement.

13.2 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith YHVH of hosts, that I will cut off the names of the wicked out of the land, and they shall be remembered no more. and I will cause the prophets and the unclean spirit to pass out of the land.

13.3 And it shall come to pass, if any man shall yet prophesy, and his father and his mother shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou hast spoken lies in the name of YHVH; then shall his father and his mother thrust him through with their prophecies.

13.4 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the prophets shall dry up every man his forehead when he prophesieth, and shall not put on a hair-cloth, lest they be ashamed.

13.5 And I said, I am no prophet, nor a servant of the earth. but a man of learning from my youth.

13.6 And I said unto him, What are these plagues in thine hand? And he said, I have smitten the house of my beloved.

13.7 I will awake a sword against my neighbor, and against the man of my companion, saith YHVH of hosts. smite the wicked, and they shall scatter the flock. and I will turn my hand against the oppressors.

13.8 And it shall come to pass in all the land, saith YHVH, that they shall cut off twice therein, and destroy it, and a third more therein.

13.9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and refine them as silver is refined, and try them as gold is tried. he shall call upon my name, and I will answer him. I said, He is my people. and he shall say, YHVH is my God.

14.1 Behold, the day of YHVH cometh, and the spoil shall be in the midst of thee.

14.2 And I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle. and the city shall be taken, and the houses shall be plundered, and the women ravished. and half of the city shall go into captivity, but the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

14.3 And YHVH went out and fought against those nations, as they fought in the day of battle.

14.4 And his feet stood in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east. and the Mount of Olives was rent in the midst thereof toward the east, and there was a very great valley. and half of the mountain toward the north, and half toward the south.

14.5 And you shall flee into the valley of the mountains, when the mountaineers shall come near, and you shall flee, as you fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. and YHVH God of all the saints shall come with you.

14.6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that there shall be no light, and the precious things shall be frozen.

14.7 And there shall be one day, which shall be known unto YHVH, neither day nor night. and it shall be at evening there shall be light.

14.8 And it shall come to pass in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem, streams to the former sea, and streams to the latter sea, in summer and in winter.

14.9 And YHVH shall be king over all the earth. in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

14.10 The whole land will return like a desert from Mount Rimmon to the Negev of Jerusalem and Ramah, and it will be inhabited from there to the Benjamin Gate, as far as the place of the First Gate, to the Inner Gate, and the Tower of Hananel, as far as the king's winepresses.

14.11 And they shall dwell therein, and there shall be no more desolation. and Jerusalem shall be inhabited safely.

14.12 And this shall be the plague wherewith YHVH shall smite all the people that are at Jerusalem, that their flesh shall be consumed, and he shall stand upon his feet, and his eyes shall be consumed in their eyes, and his tongue shall be consumed in their mouths.

14.13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that there shall be a great tumult of YHVH among them, and they shall lay hold every man on the hand of his neighbor, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbor.

14.14 And Judah also fought against Jerusalem, and gathered together a host of all the nations round about, gold, and silver, and apparel in great abundance.

14.15 And so shall be the plague of the horse, the mule, the camel, the donkey, and all the beasts that are in the camps, as this plague.

14.16 And it came to pass, that every one that was left of all the nations that came against Jerusalem went up from year to year to worship the King, YHVH of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

14.17 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever of the families of the earth shall not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, YHVH of hosts, upon them shall there be no rain.

14.18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, nor come, neither shall the plague be upon them, wherewith YHVH shall smite the nations that go not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

14.19 This shall be the iniquity of Egypt, and the iniquity of all the nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

14.20 In that day there shall be upon the horse's bridles a sanctuary unto YHVH, and the vessels in the house of YHVH shall be as the bowls before the altar.

14.21 And every pot in Jerusalem and Judah shall be holy unto YHVH of hosts. and all the sacrifices shall come, and take of them, and boil therein. and in that day there shall be no more a Canaanite in the house of YHVH of hosts.
