Ezra 1.1 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of YHVH by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, YHVH stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and also by letter, saying, 1.2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth hath YHVH Alhym of heaven given me; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah. 1.3 Who among you of all his people, may his Alhym be with him, and may he go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of YHVH Alhym of Israel, he is the Alhym who is in Jerusalem? 1.4 And all that remaineth out of all the places where he sojourneth, let the men of his place carry him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, with the offering for the house of Alhym which is in Jerusalem. 1.5 Then the heads of the fathers' houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, arose, and went up to the whole city, whose spirit Alhym had put in them, to build the house of YHVH which is in Jerusalem. 1.6 And all their neighbors strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, and with gold, with goods, and with cattle, and with precious things, besides all that willingly offered themselves. 1.7 And Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of YHVH, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and put them in the house of his gods. 1.8 And Cyrus king of Persia brought them out by the hand of the treasurer, and counted them unto Shebzar the prince of Judah. 1.9 And these are the number of them. thirty golden bowls, a thousand and twenty-nine silver bowls, 1.10 Thirty gold chargers, four hundred silver chargers, and ten other vessels, a thousand. 1.11 All the vessels of gold and silver were five thousand and four hundred, all the offering of Shebzar with the offering of the exiles from Babylon to Jerusalem. 2.1 Now these are the children of the province, which returned out of the captivity, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried away captive to Babylon, and they returned to Jerusalem and Judah, every man unto his city. 2.2 Who came with Zerubbabel, Joshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, a number of the Gentiles, Rahum, Baanah, a number of the people of Israel. 2.3 The children of Phares, one thousand one hundred seventy and two. 2.4 The children of Shephatiah, three hundred seventy and two. 2.5 The children of Arach, seven hundred seventy and five. 2.6 The children of Pahath-moab, of the children of Jeshua, Joab, eight thousand eight hundred and twelve. 2.7 The children of Elam, a thousand two hundred fifty and four. 2.8 The children of Zetua, nine hundred forty and five. 2.9 The children of Zacharias, seven hundred and sixty. 2.10 My sons, six hundred and forty-two. 2.11 The children of Babi, six hundred twenty and three. 2.12 The children of Azgad, a thousand two hundred twenty and two. 2.13 The the children of Hatita, the children of Shavi, in all an hundred thirty and nine. 2.43 The Nethinim, the sons of Ziha, the sons of Hashupha, the sons of Tionghon. 2.44 The children of Keres, the children of Siha, the children of Padon 2.45 The sons of Laban, the sons of Haggai, the sons of Aqub 2.46 The sons of Haggai, the sons of Shimli, the sons of Hanan. 2.47 Sons of Gadhal, sons of Gahar, sons of Rayah 2.48 The children of Rezin, the children of Nekoda, the children of Gazem 2.49 The sons of Azza, the sons of Pashcha, the sons of Bassi 2.50 The sons of Asenath, the sons of Ma'ain, the sons of Naphisim 2.51 The sons of Bozhu, the sons of Hakupha, the sons of Harhor 2.52 The children of Bazluth, the children of Machida, the children of Harsha. 2.53 The children of Barchus, the children of Sisera, the children of Tamah. 2.54 The sons of Nitzich, the sons of Hatipha 2.55 The sons of Abdi Solomon, the sons of Seti, the sons of Sephar, the sons of Peroda 2.56 My son will rise, written by the priests, and were not found. and they redeemed them from the priest. 2.63 And he said, They should not eat of the most holy things, until there stood up a priest for the Urim and the Levites. 2.64 The whole congregation together was four hundred and three hundred and sixty. 2.65 Besides their male and female slaves, there were seven thousand three hundred thirty-seven of them, and they had two hundred male and female slaves. 2.66 Their horses were seven hundred thirty-six, their mules two hundred forty-five. 2.67 Their camels were four hundred thirty-five, their donkeys six thousand seven hundred and twenty. 2.68 And some of the heads of the fathers, when they came to the house of YHVH which is in Jerusalem, offered themselves for the house of Alhym, to set it in its place. 2.69 According to their ability, they gave to the treasury of the work six thousand drachmas of gold, and five thousand minas of silver, and one hundred priests' garments. 2.70 The priests, the Levites, some of the people, the singers, the gatekeepers, the people of the land, and all Israel lived in their cities. 3.1 And when the seventh month was come, the children of Israel were in the cities, and the people gathered themselves together as one man unto Jerusalem. 3.2 Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and built the altar of the Alhym of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of Alhym. 3.3 And he prepared the altar upon his altar. for the fear of the people of the lands was upon them. and he offered burnt offerings upon it unto YHVH morning and evening. 3.4 And they kept the feast of tabernacles as it is written, and the daily burnt offering by number, according to the ordinance, every day. 3.5 And after that thou shalt offer continually, and at the new moons, and at all the set feasts of YHVH, and at every freewill offering unto YHVH. 3.6 From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to YHVH, but the temple of YHVH had not been laid. 3.7 And they gave money to the masons and the carpenters, and food, and drink, and oil to the Sidonians and the Cyrenes, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea of Joppa, according to the license which Cyrus king of Persia had given them. 3.8 And in the second year of their coming to the house of Alhym at Jerusalem, in the second month, began Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the rest of their brethren the priests and the Levites, and all that were come out of the captivity to Jerusalem, and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to the work of the house of YHVH. 3.9 And Jeshua, his sons, and his brethren, Kadmiel, and his sons, the children of Judah, together, stood continually over the workmen of the house of Alhym, the children of Henadad, their sons, and their brethren, the Levites. 3.10 And the children laid the foundation of the temple of YHVH, and the priests stood armed with trumpets, and the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise YHVH by the hand of David king of Israel. 3.11 And they answered with praise and thanksgiving unto YHVH, for it is good. for his mercy endureth for ever toward Israel. and all the people shouted with a great shout, praising YHVH, at the foundation of the house of YHVH. 3.12 And many of the priests and Levites and chief of the fathers, who had seen the foundation of the first house, wept with a loud voice, and many shouted for joy, lifting up their voices. 3.13 And the people did not know the sound of the shout of joy from the sound of the weeping of the people, for the people shouted with a great shout, and the sound was heard afar off. 4.1 Now when the inhabitants of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity were building a temple unto YHVH Alhym of Israel, 4.2 Then they came to Zerubbabel and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you. for we will seek your Alhym as ye do, and we will not sacrifice since the days of Asher-haddon king of Assyria, which brought us up hither. 4.3 Then Zerubbabel, Jeshua, and the rest of the heads of the fathers of Israel said to them, “You have nothing to do with us in building a house for our Alhym, but we together will build for YHVH, the Alhym of Israel, as King Cyrus, king of Persia, commanded us.” 4.4 And the people of the land let the hand of Judah be loosed, and they were weary of building. 4.5 And they set up counselors against them to frustrate their counsel, all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, until the reign of Darius king of Persia. 4.6 And in the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, they wrote an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem, 4.7 And in the days of Artaxerxes wrote Beshalm the son of Tabal, and the rest of his letters, against Artaxerxes king of Persia. And the writing of the letter was written in Aramaic, and the translation was in Aramaic. 4.8 Rahum Baal-Taam and Samshai Safra wrote a severe tax against Jerusalem to Artaxerxes the king, as the king of Assyria. 4.9 Adin, a merciful man, and the sons of Safra, and the rest of the people of Kenathon, Dinia, and Parthia, Tarpel, Aparsiya, Arko, Babylonia, Shushanchi, and Dehua, Alma. 4.10 And the rest of the children of Israel, 4.11 Dana, the interpreter of the Agartha, sent a messenger to Artaxerxes the king, to your servants, the men who crossed the river and who were with you. 4.12 And it shall be known unto the king of Judah, that the Jews which were driven out of Lot, shall go up with him to Jerusalem, and to build a city, and to build a city, and to build a city, and to build a city, and to build a city. 4.13 When the king knows that his kingdom is sufficient, his kingdom will be built and his kingdom will be perfected, and he will not be left behind, and he will not be destroyed, and he will be destroyed by kings. 4.14 When all the salt had been received, the salt was shut up, and the king's anger was aroused. built it. 5.14 And the gold of the house of Alhym, and the gold of the temple of Nebuchadnezzar, which he brought out of the temple in Jerusalem, and brought them to the temple of Babylon, even Cyrus the king brought out of the temple of Babylon, and put them in the palace of Sheshbazzar, which is called the palace of YHVH. 5.15 And he said unto her, This is the vessel which I will build in Jerusalem, and the house of Alhym shall be built in its place. 5.16 I will build the house of Alhym in Jerusalem, and from Adin until the day it was built, it was not finished. 5.17 And when he was come to the house of Gennesaret, the king of Babylon, he was with me, and the king Cyrus the king gave a decree to build the house of Alhym in Jerusalem, and the king's servants sent him there. 6.1 In the days of Darius the king, there came a certain man, and he was come to the house of Sefaria, and Genzias the Hittite, and was astonished at Babylon. 6.2 And he was forgotten in Achmatah, in Birta, in the measure of her state, in the plain of Hada, and so it is written in the body of Dekrona. 6.3 In the sixth year of Cyrus the king, Cyrus the king made a decree that the house of Alhym in Jerusalem should be built, a place of great splendor, and 6.4 We will break the stone that was taken from the king's house, and we 6.5 And of the house of Alhym, which was of gold, and of the palace of the king of Babylon, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple which was in Jerusalem, and carried it to Babylon, and brought it to the temple which was in Jerusalem, to set it in order, and to put it in the house of Alhym. 6.6 If you give me a piece of land beyond the river, I will leave you a piece of land, and I will give 6.7 They are in line for the work of the house of Alhym, the house of Judah, and the house of Judah, the house of Alhym, the house of YHVH, on its site. 6.8 And I will give you a reason why you should serve with the Jewish exiles, and I will go to build the house of him be put out of his house, and let the watchman beware of him, and let him be put to death for his sin. 6.12 And Alhym shall dwell there, and shall destroy every king and people that shall put his hand against it to destroy the house of Alhym, and shall destroy the house of Darius in Jerusalem, and shall make a covenant with him, and shall make a covenant with him. 6.13 Adin, you shall give me a portion of the river, and I will give you a portion of the land 6.14 And the captivity of Judah built and fortified them through the prophecy of Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, and his sons, and they perfected Israel by these means, and by the order of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia. 6.15 And the house of Dan went forth until the day of the month of Adar, which was the seventh year of the reign of Darius the king. 6.16 And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, did the dedication of the house of Alhym with joy. 6.17 And they offered for the dedication of the house of Alhym, twelve hundred shekels of silver, and four hundred shekels of gold, and trumpets of brass, to make atonement for all Israel, twelve according to the number of the tribes of Israel. 6.18 And they appointed priests in the divisions of the house of Alhym, and Levites in the divisions of the house of Alhym, for the service of Alhym in Jerusalem, as it is written in the book of Moses. 6.19 And the children of the captivity kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the first month. 6.20 For the priests and the Levites were purified together, all of them being pure, and they killed the Passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the priests, and for them. 6.21 And the children of Israel, that were come again out of the captivity, and all that were separated from the filthiness of the people of the land, to seek YHVH Alhym of Israel, did eat. 6.22 And they kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy. for YHVH made them rejoice. and the heart of the king of Assyria turned unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of Alhym, the Alhym of Israel. 7.1 After these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah, 7.2 The son of Shallum, the son of Zadok, the son of Ahithub, 7.3 The son of Amariah, the son of Azariah, the son of Meraioth, 7.4 The son of Zerahiah, the son of Uzzi, the son of Beki. 7.5 The son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the chief priest, 7.6 This Ezra came up from Babylon, and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which YHVH Alhym of Israel had given. and the king granted him according to the hand of YHVH his Alhym upon him all his request. 7.7 And some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the children of Israel, went up to Jerusalem in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king. 7.8 And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was the seventh year of the king. 7.9 For on the first day of the first month he began the journey from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his Alhym upon him. 7.10 For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of YHVH, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments. 7.11 And this is the interpretation of the book that King Artaxerxes gave to Ezra the priest, the scribe, a book of the words of the commandments of YHVH, and of his statutes concerning Israel. 7.12 Artaxerxes the king, Melchiah, to Ezra the priest, a book of the law, according to the law of YHVH, and of the law of YHVH, according to 7.13 I will give you a sufficient amount of money for every volunteer in my kingdom from my people Israel, and for my priests and Levites, which you have with you to Jerusalem. 7.14 All that is received is sufficient from the beginning of the king, and seven days shall be given to the messenger to proclaim to Judah and Jerusalem the religion of your Alhym, sufficient in your hand. 7.15 And to spend silver and gold, sufficient for the king and his servants, they offered to the gods of Israel, sufficient for Jerusalem, his dwelling place. 7.16 And all the silver and gold shall be forgotten in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offerings of the women and the priests, who offer themselves freely for the house of Alhym, they shall be enough in Jerusalem. 7.17 Every one that receiveth the law of Asparagus, thou shalt be jealous for the law of the law of Torah, and for the law of 7.18 And what is enough for you and your brother? It is better for Bashar to be a slave than to worship your gods. 7.19 And I will not be satisfied with thee, that thou shouldest destroy the house of thy Alhym, which is perfect before this, which is Jerusalem. 7.20 And the rest of the treasures of the house of your Alhym shall be sufficient for you, according to the portion given you out of the king's treasure house. 7.21 And from whence then did Artaxerxes the king make a decree concerning all the treasures of the treasury, which were in the past, and all that were asked, that Ezra the priest should be a scribe, and that the heavens should be opened to him. 7.22 To silver a hundred shekels, to henna a hundred shekels, to beryl a hundred shekels, to beryl a hundred shekels, to beryl a hundred shekels, and to beryl a hundred shekels of oil, and salt enough is not written. 7.23 All is enough for the sake of these things, that YHVH Alhym will serve the house of these things, that YHVH Alhym will be enough for him, why is he angry with the kingdom of the king and his sons? 7.24 And it is well known to you that all the priests and Levites, the Zemriites, the Nethinims, and the servants of the house of Alhym, have judged and rejected, and there is no ruler to deceive them. 7.25 And you, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your Alhym, are sufficient in your hand to judge and to make judgments, sufficient for all the people, sufficient for the past, a light for all who know the religion of your Alhym, and sufficient for those who do not know, to be made known. 7.26 And all that is not enough for him is a servant, but enough for your Alhym, and enough for the king. As far as I am concerned, the law of the servant is either death, or flogging, or punishment, or imprisonment. 7.27 Blessed be YHVH Alhym of our fathers, who has put such a thing in the king's heart, to beautify the house of YHVH which is in Jerusalem. 7.28 And Eli found favor in the sight of the king, and his counsellors, and all the king's mighty men. and I was strengthened, as the hand of YHVH my Alhym was upon me, and gathered together of Israel chief men to go up with me. 8.1 Now these are the heads of their fathers, and the exiles who were with me in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Babylon. 8.2 Of the sons of Phinehas, Gershom, of the sons of Ithamar, Daniel, of the sons of David, Hattush. 8.3 Of the sons of Shechaniah, of the sons of Pharez, Zechariah, and his brethren, a hundred and fifty males. 8.4 Of the sons of Pahath-Moab, Elihueni the son of Zerahiah, and with him two hundred males. 8.5 Of the sons of Shechaniah the son of Jahaziel, and with him three hundred males. 8.6 And of the sons of Adin, Abde the son of Jonathan, and with him fifty males. 8.7 And of the sons of Elam, Jeshaiah the son of Athaliah, and with him seventy males. 8.8 And of the sons of Shephatiah; Zebadiah the son of Michael, and with him eighty males. 8.9 Of the sons of Joab; Obadiah the son of Jehiel, and with him two hundred and eighteen males. 8.10 And of the sons of Shelomith the son of Josiphiah, and with him an hundred and sixty males. 8.11 And of the sons of Babi; Zechariah the son of Babi, and with him twenty and eight males. 8.12 And of the sons of Azgad, Johanan the
