Ezekiel

1.1 And it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I was in the midst of the exile by the river, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.

1.2 On the fifth day of the month, in the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin

1.3 The word of YHVH came to Ezekiel the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans, by the river Chebar; and the hand of YHVH was there upon him.

1.4 And I looked, and, behold, a stormy wind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a blazing fire, and a blazing fire was seen round about it, and out of it as it were lightning out of the fire.

1.5 And out of it was the likeness of four living creatures, and this was the appearance of a man, behold.

1.6 And each one had four faces, and each one had four wings.

1.7 And their legs were straight, and their feet were like the feet of a calf, and they shone like the appearance of burnished bronze.

1.8 And the hands of a man were under their wings, upon their four quarters, and their faces, and their wings, upon their four.

1.9 A woman's companionship is to her sister; their wings shall not turn when they go; each shall go toward his own face.

1.10 And the likeness of their faces was the face of a man, and the face of a lion on the right side, and the face of an ox on the left, and the face of an eagle on the right side, and the face of an ox on the right side, and the face of an eagle on the left side, and the face of an ox on the right side, and the face of an eagle on the left side, and the face of an ox on the right side, and the face of an eagle on the left side, and the face of an ox on the right side, and the face of an ox right side, and the face of an ox

1.11 And their faces and their wings were separated from above, each one two by two, each one covering its body.

1.12 And they went every man straight forward, whithersoever the wind was to go, they went; they turned not when they went.

1.13 And the likeness of the living creatures was as the appearance of burning coals of fire, as the appearance of torches. it went up and down among the living creatures, and it was like the fire, and out of the fire went forth lightning.

1.14 And the beasts ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.

1.15 And I saw the living creatures, and behold, one form on the earth among the living creatures, each with its four faces.

1.16 The appearance of the wheels and their work was like the appearance of Tarshish, and the four of them had one image, and their appearance and work was as if the shape was within the shape.

1.17 They shall go upon their four quarters, they shall not turn as they go.

1.18 And their backs, and their backs, and their fear, and their backs were full of eyes round about them four.

1.19 And when the living creatures went, the wheels went with them; and when the living creatures were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up.

1.20 Wherever the wind was to go, they would go, wherever the wind was to go, and the wheels would be lifted up before them, for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

1.21 When they went, they went, and when they stood, they stood. and when they were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up before them. for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

1.22 And over the heads of the beast was a firmament like the appearance of terrible ice, spread out over their heads above.

1.23 And under the firmament their wings were straight, a woman toward her sister, the one two covering their bodies, and the other two covering their bodies.

1.24 And I heard the sound of their wings, as the sound of many waters, as the sound of their going, the sound of their marching, as the sound of a camp, as they stood still, their wings were spread out.

1.25 And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, and as they stood, their wings were let down.

1.26 And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, as the appearance of a sapphire stone. and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.

1.27 And I saw as it were the appearance of lightning, as the appearance of fire, round about, from the appearance of his loins and upward, and from the appearance of his loins and downward, I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and brightness round about him.

1.28 As the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud in the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness round about. it was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of YHVH. and I looked, and darkness fell upon my face, and I heard a voice speaking.

2.1 And he said unto me, Son of man, stand upon thy feet, that I may speak with thee.

2.2 And the spirit entered into me as he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, and I heard the voice of him that spake unto me.

2.3 And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee unto the children of Israel, unto the rebellious nations, which have rebelled against me. they and their fathers have transgressed against me unto this day.

2.4 But the children are stiff-faced and stubborn in heart; I send you to them, and you shall say to them, Thus says YHVH GOD.

2.5 And whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, for they are a rebellious house; yet they shall know that a prophet hath been among them.

2.6 And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them, nor be afraid of their words, for they will deceive and deceive you, and you will dwell among scorpions. Do not be afraid of their words, nor be afraid of their faces, for they are a rebellious house.

2.7 And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear; for they are rebellious.

2.8 And you, son of man, hear what I say to you; do not be rebellious like the rebellious house; open your mouth and eat what I give you.

2.9 And I looked, and behold, a hand was stretched out unto me, and behold, a roll of a book was in it.

2.10 And he spread it out before me, and it was written before and behind, and it was written upon it, reeds and rudder, and it was

3.1 And he said unto me, Son of man, eat that which thou findest. eat this scroll, and go, speak unto the house of Israel.

3.2 And I opened my mouth, and this scroll devoured me.

3.3 And he said unto me, Son of man, eat into thy belly, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. and I did eat it, and it was in my mouth as honey for sweetness.

3.4 And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

3.5 For you are not sending to the house of Israel to a people of a difficult language and a difficult tongue.

3.6 Not to many peoples of a deep language and of a hard tongue, whose words you will not hear, unless I send you to them; for they will hear you.

3.7 And the house of Israel will not be willing to listen to you, because they will not listen to me; for all the house of Israel are stiff-necked and hard-hearted.

3.8 Behold, I have made your face strong against their faces, and your forehead strong against their foreheads.

3.9 As a strong man, I have given you a shield; you shall not fear them, nor be dismayed at their presence, for they are a rebellious house.

3.10 And he said unto me, Son of man, all my words that I shall speak unto thee, receive in thine heart, and hear with thine ears.

3.11 And go, come to the children of thy people of the captivity, and speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear?

3.12 And the spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me the sound of a great rumbling, the glory of YHVH from his place.

3.13 And the sound of the wings of the beasts, as a woman thrusts her sister, and the sound of chariots against them, and the sound of a great tumult.

3.14 And the spirit lifted me up, and took me away. and I went in the bitterness of my spirit, and the hand of YHVH was strong upon me.

3.15 And I came to the exiles at Tel Aviv, who live by the river Chebar, and to those who live there, and I stayed there seven days of fasting among them.

3.16 And it came to pass at the end of seven days, that the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

3.17 Son of man, I have given you to the house of Israel, and you shall hear a word from my mouth, and warn them from me.

3.18 When you say to the wicked, "You shall surely die," and you do not warn him, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, he is wicked in his iniquity; he shall die in his iniquity, and I will require his blood at your hand.

3.19 But if you warn the wicked, and he does not turn from his wickedness and from his wicked way, he will die in his iniquity, but you will have delivered your own soul.

3.20 And if a righteous man turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die; because thou hast not warned him of his iniquity, he shall die; and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; and his blood will I require at thine hand.

3.21 And if you warn the righteous man not to sin, the righteous man will surely live, because he was warned, and you have delivered your own soul.

3.22 And the hand of YHVH was there upon me, and he said unto me, Arise, go forth into the plain, and there I will speak with thee.

3.23 And I arose, and went forth into the valley. and, behold, the glory of YHVH stood there, as the glory which I saw by the river of Chaber. and darkness was upon my face.

3.24 Then a spirit entered into me, and set me upon my feet, and spake unto me, and said unto me, The siege is come within thine house.

3.25 And you, son of man, behold, they have laid thickets upon you, and I will bind you in them, and you shall not go out through them.

3.26 And I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth, and you shall be dumb, and you shall be no reprover to them. for they are a rebellious house.

3.27 And I will open thy mouth with thy words, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear. for they are a rebellious house.

4.1 And thou, son of man, take thee a brick, and set it before thee, and model upon it the city Jerusalem.

4.2 And you shall lay siege to it, and build a rampart against it, and cast a mound against it, and set up camps against it, and set up ramparts against it round about.

4.3 And thou shalt take thee an iron pan, and set it for an iron wall between thee and the city, and set thy face against it, and lay siege against it, and besiege it. it shall be a sign unto the house of Israel.

4.4 And you shall lie on your left side, and lay the iniquity of the house of Israel upon it; according to the number of the days that you shall lie upon it, you shall bear their iniquity.

4.5 And I have given you their iniquity for the number of days, three hundred and ninety days, and you have borne the iniquity of the house of Israel.

4.6 And thou shalt make an end of these, and lie upon thy side, and bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days, day by day, a year by year, I will give it thee.

4.7 And thou shalt set thy face toward the siege of Jerusalem, and thy seed shalt thou bare, and prophesy against it.

4.8 And, behold, I have laid thickets upon thee, and thou shalt not turn from thy side to thy side, until the days of thy affliction be fulfilled.

4.9 And thou shalt take unto thee wheat, and barley, and lentils, and millet, and spelt, and put them in one vessel, and shalt make them for thee bread, according to the number of the days that thou shalt lie upon thy side, three hundred and ninety days shalt thou eat thereof.

4.10 And your food which you shall eat shall be by weight twenty shekels a day, from time to time you shall eat it.

4.11 And you shall drink water sparingly, a sixth of a hin from time to time.

4.12 And the cake of the gates shall be eaten, and it shall be for my sake that the going out of man shall be established in their sight.

4.13 And YHVH said, Thus shall the children of Israel eat their unclean meat among the nations whither I will drive them.

4.14 And I said, Ah Lord GOD! Behold, my soul is not defiled; I have not eaten any thing that dieth of itself or is torn with beasts from my youth even until now, neither has any strange flesh entered my mouth.

4.15 And he said unto me, Behold, I have given thee the dung of oxen instead of man's dung, and thou shalt make thy bread thereon.

4.16 And he said unto me, Son of man, behold, I will break the staff of bread in Jerusalem. and they shall eat bread by weight, and with care; and they shall drink water by measure, and with anxiety.

4.17 That they may lack bread and water, and breathe every man his brother, and be justified in their iniquity.

5.1 And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp sword, and a razor of hair. take it, and pass it upon thine head and upon thy beard. and take thee balances, and weigh them.

5.2 A third part you shall burn with fire in the midst of the city, as the days of the siege are fulfilled. and you shall take a third part, and smite it with the sword round about it. and a third part you shall scatter to the wind, and the sword of the dust shall follow after them.

5.3 And you took from there a few in number and gathered them together with your wings.

5.4 And of them thou shalt take yet more, and cast them into the fire, and burn them with fire. from thence shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel.

5.5 Thus saith YHVH GOD; This is Jerusalem among the nations, which I have set upon her, and the countries round about her.

5.6 And she hath made my judgments a sin among the heathen, and my statutes among the countries round about. for they have despised my judgments, and have not walked in my statutes.

5.7 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Because ye have not walked in my statutes, nor executed my judgments, nor done according to the judgments of the heathen that are round about you,

5.8 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I am against thee, and will execute judgments in thee in the sight of the heathen.

5.9 And I did in thee that which I had not done, and which I will not do any more, because of all thine abominations.

5.10 Therefore the fathers shall eat the sons in the midst of thee, and the sons shall eat their fathers. and I will execute judgments in thee, and will scatter thy remnant unto every wind.

5.11 Therefore as I live, saith YHVH GOD, if thou wilt not cleanse my sanctuary with all thine abominations, and with all thine abominations, then will I also destroy it, and thine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity.

5.12 A third of you shall die by the word, and shall be consumed by famine in the midst of you; and a third shall fall by the sword round about you; and a third shall be scattered abroad, and the sword shall devour after them.

5.13 And I will accomplish my anger, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will comfort them. and they shall know that I am YHVH. I have spoken in my jealousy, when I have accomplished my fury upon them.

5.14 And I will make thee a desolation and a reproach among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of all that pass by.

5.15 And it shall be a reproach and a reproach, and a reproach unto the heathen that are round about thee, when I shall execute judgments in thee in anger, and in fury, and in fierce anger. I YHVH have spoken it.

5.16 I will send the evil half of them, which were to destroy you, whom I will send to destroy you. and I will gather famine upon you, and break your staff of bread.

5.17 And I will send upon you famine, and evil beasts, and pestilence, and blood, and they shall pass through you, and I will bring the sword upon you. I YHVH have spoken it.

6.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

6.2 Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them.

6.3 And thou shalt say, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of YHVH GOD; Thus saith YHVH GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the brooks, and to the valleys; Behold, I will bring a sword upon you, and I will be consumed in your slain.

6.4 And your altars shall be desolate, and your altars shall be broken, and I will cast down your slain before your idols.

6.5 And I will lay the carcases of the children of Israel before their idols, and will scatter your bones round about your altars.

6.6 In all your dwelling places the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be made desolate, that they may be laid waste and defiled, and your altars shall be broken and cast down, and your images shall be cut down, and your works shall be destroyed.

6.7 And a slain man shall fall among you, and ye shall know that I am YHVH.

6.8 And I will leave you, when you shall be fugitives from the sword among the nations, and when you shall be strangers in the lands,

6.9 And your survivors will remember me among the nations where they were carried captive, to whom I have broken their whoredom heart, which is turned away from me, and their eyes which go a whoring after their idols, and they will turn their faces to the evils which they have committed, to all their abominations.

6.10 And they shall know that I am YHVH, and have not spoken in vain to do this evil unto them.

6.11 Thus saith YHVH GOD; Smite with thy hand, and stamp with thy foot, and say, Aha, for all the evil abominations of the house of Israel, which shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.

6.12 He who is far off shall die by word, and he who is near shall fall by the sword; and he who remains and is besieged shall die by famine; and I will spend my wrath upon them.

6.13 And ye shall know that I am YHVH, when their slain men shall be in their groves round about their altars, upon every high hill, upon all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under all these green places, where they have offered a sweet savour unto all their groves.

6.14 And I will stretch out my hand upon them, and will make the land desolate, and desolate from the wilderness to the wilderness in all their habitations. and they shall know that I am YHVH.

7.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

7.2 And you, son of man, thus says YHVH GOD to the land of Israel. An end has come, an end has come to the four corners of the earth.

7.3 Now is the end come upon you, and I will pour out my wrath upon you, and I will judge you according to your ways, and I will bring upon you all your abominations.

7.4 And my eye shall not spare thee, neither will I have pity. for I will recompense thy ways upon thee, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee. and ye shall know that I am YHVH.

7.5 Thus saith YHVH GOD; An evil, an evil, behold, it cometh.

7.6 The end is coming, the end is coming, the summer is coming to you, here it comes.

7.7 The trumpet is come unto thee, O inhabitant of the earth. the time is come, the day is near, a tumult, and not the echo of the mountains.

7.8 Now will I soon pour out my fury upon thee, and accomplish my anger against thee, and will judge thee according to thy ways, and will recompense upon thee all thine abominations.

7.9 And mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity. I will recompense thee after thy ways, and thine abominations shall be in the midst of thee. and ye shall know that I YHVH do smite.

7.10 Behold, the day has come, the trumpet has gone forth, the staff has sprung up, the flower of malice has blossomed.

7.11 The wrath of the wicked is risen up, not from them, nor from their multitude, nor from their murmuring, nor from their murmuring.

7.12 The time has come, the day has come. Let not the buyer rejoice, nor the seller mourn. For wrath will come upon all who count.

7.13 For the seller shall not return to the seller, and they shall live yet in their own lives. for a vision shall not return to all that saw it, and none shall be strengthened in their own wickedness.

7.14 They have made ready everything, and none has gone to battle, for I am angry with all who are numbered.

7.15 The sword is without, and the pestilence and famine are at home. he that is in the field shall die by the sword; and he that is in the city shall be consumed by the famine and pestilence.

7.16 And their fugitives fled, and were upon the mountains as doves of the valleys. all of them died, every one in his own iniquity.

7.17 All hands shall be relaxed, and all knees shall be bowed down.

7.18 And they girded themselves with sackcloth, and covered themselves with sackcloth. and shame was upon every face, and baldness was upon all their heads.

7.19 Their silver shall be cast into the streets, and their gold shall be a prey. their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of YHVH's visitation. their soul shall not be satisfied, neither shall their bowels be filled. for their iniquity shall be the stumblingblock thereof.

7.20 And the ravens of his witnesses, the glory of his name, and the idols of their abominations, their abominations, have committed in it. therefore have I given it unto them for a desolation.

7.21 And I will give it into the hand of strangers to plunder, and to the wicked of the earth to plunder and to defile it.

7.22 And I will turn my face from them, and they shall defile my north. and the robbers shall come in, and defile it.

7.23 Do what is bound, for the land is full of bloody judgments, and the city is full of violence.

7.24 And I will bring in the herds of the nations, and they shall inherit their houses. and I will cause the pride of the goats to return, and they shall inherit their sanctuaries.

7.25 Be careful, come and ask for peace, and there is none.

7.26 And the voice of YHVH shall come upon the voice of YHVH, and the voice of YHVH shall be heard; and they shall seek a vision from the prophet, and the law from the priest, and counsel from the elders.

7.27 The king shall mourn, and the prince shall be clothed with desolation. and the hands of the people of the land shall be troubled. I will do unto them in their own way, and according to their own judgments will I judge them. and they shall know that I am YHVH.

8.1 And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, on the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of YHVH GOD fell upon me there.

8.2 And I looked, and behold, a likeness as the appearance of fire, from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire, and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the appearance of lightning.

8.3 And he sent forth a rod of a hand, and took me by the crown of my head, and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate which looketh toward the north, where was the seat of the symbol of jealousy that giveth away.

8.4 And behold, there was the glory of the God of Israel, like the vision that I saw in the valley.

8.5 And he said unto me, Son of man, lift up thine eyes now the way toward the north. and I lifted up mine eyes the way toward the north, and, behold, north of the gate of the altar, this symbol of jealousy in the coming.

8.6 And he said unto me, Son of man, shew thee what great abominations they commit, which the house of Israel committeth here, to go far from my sanctuary. and again shalt thou see great abominations.

8.7 And he brought me to the door of the court, and I looked, and behold, a hole in the wall.

8.8 And he said unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall, and dig again in the wall, and behold an opening.

8.9 And he said unto me, Come, and see the wicked abominations that they do here.

8.10 And I came and looked, and, behold, every form of abominable beast, and every idol of the house of Israel, was stamped upon the wall round about.

8.11 And seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, and Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, stood in the midst of them, standing before them, each with his censer in his hand, and the cloud of incense went up.

8.12 And he said unto me, Son of man, have you seen what the elders of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in his chambers, saying, YHVH seeth not with us; YHVH hath forsaken the land?

8.13 And he said unto me, Return yet again, and see the great abominations which they do.

8.14 Then he brought me to the entrance of the gate of the house of YHVH which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.

8.15 And he said unto me, Have you seen the son of man? Return again, and see greater abominations than these.

8.16 And he brought me into the inner court of the house of YHVH. and, behold, the door of the temple of YHVH was between the porch and the altar. and about five and twenty men followed them into the temple of YHVH, with their faces toward the east, and they bowed themselves toward the sun.

8.17 And he said unto me, Son of man, have you seen that the house of Judah doeth all the abominations which they do here, that they have filled the land with violence, and have set themselves to provoke me to anger? and, behold, they send the slanderer into their own nostrils.

8.18 I also will deal with wrath; my eye will not spare, nor will I have pity. They will call in my ears with a loud voice, but I will not listen to them.

9.1 And he cried with a loud voice, saying, The destruction of the city is at hand, and every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.

9.2 And, behold, six men came from the way of the upper gate which looketh toward the north, and every man his staff in his hand. and one man among them was clothed with linen, and had a book of writing by his side. and they came and stood by the brazen altar.

9.3 And the glory of the God of Israel went up from the cherub, whereon it was, to the threshold of the house. and he called unto the man clothed with linen, which had the book case by his loins.

9.4 And YHVH said, If thou go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that groan for all the abominations that are done in the midst thereof,

9.5 And to these he said in my hearing, Go after him into the city, and smite the slain, and have no pity.

9.6 Old man, young man, and virgin, little child, and women, you shall utterly destroy; and come not near any man upon whom is the mark. and you shall be angry with my sanctuaries, and they shall be angry with the old men that are before the house.

9.7 And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain. go forth, and go forth, and smite the city.

9.8 And it came to pass, as they smote them, that I was left, and my face was darkened. and I cried, and said, Ah, Lord GOD! thou hast destroyed all the remnant of Israel, in that thou hast poured out thy wrath upon Jerusalem!

9.9 And he said unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah is exceedingly great. and the land is filled with blood, and the city is full of corpses. for they say, YHVH hath forsaken the land, and YHVH seeth not.

9.10 And I also will not spare my eyes, nor will I have pity on them; I have given them into their hands.

9.11 And behold, the man clothed with the linen cloths which you girded about his loins answered and said, I have done as you commanded me.

10.1 And I looked, and behold, the firmament that was over the head of the cherubims, as it were a sapphire stone, as the appearance of a throne, appeared above them.

10.2 And he said to the man clothed in linen, Go into the midst of the cherubim, and fill thine hand with coals of fire from the midst of the cherubim, and cast them upon the city, and come in before my eyes.

10.3 And the cherubim stood on the right side of the house when the man came in, and the cloud filled the inner court.

10.4 And the glory of YHVH was lifted up from the cherub over the threshold of the house, and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was filled with the brightness of YHVH's glory.

10.5 And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of God Shaddai when he speaketh.

10.6 And he commanded the man clothed with linen, saying, Take fire from between the wheel, from between the cherubim. and he went in, and stood by the wheel.

10.7 And the cherub stretched forth his hand from between the cherubim unto the fire that was between the cherubim, and took it, and gave it unto Hophni the man clothed with linen, and he took it, and went out.

10.8 And he saw the cherubim as it were the form of a man's hand under their wings.

10.9 And I looked, and behold, there were four wheels by the cherubim, one wheel by one cherub, and one wheel by another cherub. and the appearance of the wheels was like the appearance of a Tarshish stone.

10.10 And as for their appearance, one image was for the four of them, as if there were a form within a form.

10.11 When they go, they shall go in their four directions, they shall not turn as they go; for in the place where the head turns shall they go, they shall not turn as they go.

10.12 And their whole flesh, and their backs, and their hands, and their wings, and the wheels, were full of eyes round about, and all four of them were wheels.

10.13 For the ways in which the wheel calls in my ears

10.14 And each one had four faces. the face of the first was the face of a cherub, and the face of the second was the face of a man, and the face of the third was the face of a lion, and the face of the fourth was the face of an eagle.

10.15 And the cherubim were lifted up, which is the living creature that I saw in the river before.

10.16 And when the cherubim went, the wheels went beside them. and when the cherubim lifted up their wings to lift up themselves from the earth, the wheels also turned not from them.

10.17 In their standing they shall stand, and in their exaltation they shall be exalted. for the spirit of the living is in them.

10.18 And the glory of YHVH went out from over the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubim.

10.19 And the cherubim lifted up their wings, and were lifted up from the earth in my sight, when they went forth, and the chariots were before them. and the opening of the gate of the house of YHVH stood before them, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them.

10.20 This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel in the river, and I knew that they were cherubim.

10.21 Each one had four faces and four wings, and the likeness of human hands was under their wings.

10.22 And the likeness of their faces was the face which I saw by the river before their appearance, and they went after his face.

11.1 Then the spirit lifted me up, and brought me to the first gate of the house of YHVH, which looketh toward the east. and, behold, at the door of the gate were five and twenty men. and I saw among them Jaazaniah the son of Ezer, and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah, princes of the people.

11.2 And he said unto me, Son of man, these are the men that devise iniquity, and give wicked counsel in this city.

11.3 Those who say, "Not soon, daughters of houses, she is the pot, and we are the meat."

11.4 Therefore prophesy unto them, O Son of man,

11.5 And the Spirit of YHVH fell upon me, and he said unto me, Say, Thus saith YHVH; Thus have ye said, O house of Israel. and I know the insolence of your spirit.

11.6 You have multiplied your slain in this city, and filled its streets with slain.

11.7 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Your slain whom ye have put in the midst of her, they are the flesh, and she hath taken away the vessel, and brought you out of the midst of her.

11.8 You shall fear the sword, and I will bring a sword upon you, says YHVH GOD.

11.9 And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hand of strangers, and execute judgments upon you.

11.10 You will fall by the sword at the border of Israel. I will judge you, and you will know that I am YHVH.

11.11 It will not be a pot for you, and you will be meat in the midst of it. I will judge you at the border of Israel.

11.12 And ye shall know that I am YHVH. for ye have not walked in my statutes, neither have ye executed mine ordinances, but have done after the ordinances of the heathen that are round about you.

11.13 And it came to pass, when the priest Hananiah and Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died, that my countenance fell upon me, and I cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah, Lord GOD! How hast thou made an end of the remnant of Israel?

11.14 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

11.15 Son of man, your brothers, your fellow Israelites, and all the people of your redemption, all of whom have said to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Get away from YHVH! He has given us the land as an inheritance.

11.16 Therefore say, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Because I have scattered them among the heathen, and scattered them through the countries, I will be to them a little sanctuary in the countries whither they are come.

11.17 Therefore say, Thus saith YHVH GOD; And I will gather you from the people, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered, and will give you the land of Israel.

11.18 And they came there, and took away all her abominations and all her abominations from her.

11.19 And I will give them one heart, and a new spirit will I put within you. and I will take away the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them an heart of flesh.

11.20 That they may walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them. and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

11.21 And I have given them into the heart of their abominations and their abominations, their heart walking in their own ways, saith YHVH GOD.

11.22 And the cherubim lifted up their wings and their wheels before them, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them.

11.23 And the glory of YHVH ascended from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain that is before the city.

11.24 And the spirit lifted me up, and brought me as it were to the exile in a vision by the spirit of God. and the vision which I had seen went up from me.

11.25 And I spoke to the exile all the words of YHVH that he had shown me.

12.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

12.2 Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, who have eyes to see but do not see, and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious house.

12.3 And you, son of man, make for yourself a vessel of exile, and exile yourself daily in their sight, and exile yourself from your place to another place in their sight, that perhaps they may see that they are a rebellious house.

12.4 And you shall bring forth your vessels by day as vessels of exile in their sight, and you shall go forth at evening in their sight as those who go forth into exile.

12.5 In their sight you dug through the wall and brought it out.

12.6 In their sight you shall bear it upon your shoulder in darkness, you shall cover your face, and you shall not see the land; for I have made you a sign to the house of Israel.

12.7 And I did so as I was commanded. I brought forth vessels, as vessels for exile, by day, and at evening I dug for myself in the wall with my hand in the dark; I brought them forth upon my shoulder, I bore them in their sight.

12.8 And the word of YHVH came unto me in the morning, saying,

12.9 Son of man, have not the house of Israel said to you, “You rebellious house, what are you doing?”

12.10 Say unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD, the ruler of this burden in Jerusalem, and in all the house of Israel that are among them.

12.11 He said, "I am your example. As I have done, so shall it be done to them in exile, in captivity they shall go."

12.12 And the prince that is among them shall bear it upon his shoulder in darkness, and shall go out through the wall. they shall dig through it to reveal his face. he shall cover it, because he shall not see the earth with his eyes.

12.13 And I will spread my net over him, and he shall be taken in my snare. and I will bring him to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, which he shall not see, and there he shall die.

12.14 And all that is around him is help, and all his wings are spread out to every wind, and the sword of the sword is behind them.

12.15 And they shall know that I am YHVH, when I shall scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries.

12.16 And I will leave a remnant of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the wilderness, that they may declare all their abominations among the nations where they come; and they shall know that I am YHVH.

12.17 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

12.18 Son of man, you shall eat your bread with noise, and drink your water with vexation and anxiety.

12.19 And thou shalt say unto the people of the land, Thus saith YHVH GOD unto the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the land of Israel; They shall eat their bread in care, and drink their waters in the wilderness. that the land may be filled with the heat of the day, and all that dwell therein shall be filled with the heat of the day.

12.20 And the cities that were desolate shall be laid waste, and the land shall be desolate. and ye shall know that I am YHVH.

12.21 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

12.22 Son of man, what is this proverb that you have concerning the land of Israel, saying, The days are prolonged, and every vision perishes?

12.23 Therefore he said unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD; I will restore this proverb, and they shall no more use it in Israel. but tell them, The days are at hand, and every vision shall be told.

12.24 For there shall be no more any vain vision or divination within the house of Israel.

12.25 For I YHVH will speak the word that I shall speak, and it shall come to pass. it shall be no more delayed. for in your days, O rebellious house, will I speak the word, and ye shall do it, saith YHVH GOD.

12.26 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

12.27 Son of man, behold, the house of Israel saith, The vision which he hath seen for many days, and which he hath prophesied for a short time.

12.28 Therefore say unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Thou shalt no more delay any more all my words which I shall speak, and they shall come to pass, saith YHVH GOD.

13.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

13.2 Son of man, prophesy to the prophets of Israel who prophesy, and say to the prophets, Hear the word of YHVH from their hearts.

13.3 Thus saith YHVH GOD; Woe unto the wicked prophets, that walk after their own spirit, and have not seen.

13.4 When your prophets of Israel fell by the sword,

13.5 Ye have not gone up into the breaches, nor built up a hedge against the house of Israel, to stand in the battle in the day of YHVH.

13.6 They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, YHVH hath spoken, and YHVH hath not sent them; and they have begun to fulfill the word.

13.7 Have you not seen a false vision, and spoken a lying divination, and said, YHVH saith, and I have not spoken?

13.8 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Because ye have spoken vanity, and your visions are false, therefore, behold, I am against you, saith YHVH GOD.

13.9 And my hand shall be upon the prophets that prophesy falsehood, and that divine lies. they shall not be in the secret of my people, neither shall they be written in the book of the house of Israel, neither shall they enter into the land of Israel. and ye shall know that I am YHVH GOD.

13.10 For they have deceived my people, saying, Peace, when there is no peace. and he hath built a hedge, and, behold, he hath plastered it with plaster.

13.11 He said to the dust, "It will be fine, and there will be a heavy rain. And the stones of the crystal will fall, and the stormy wind will break."

13.12 And, behold, the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daub wherewith ye daubed it?

13.13 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; I will also send forth a stormy wind in my wrath, and it shall be a flood in my nostrils, and hailstones in the heat of the day.

13.14 And I will break down the wall that you have plastered with plaster, and I will bring it down to the ground, and its foundation shall be uncovered, and it shall fall, and you shall be consumed in the midst of it; and you shall know that I am YHVH.

13.15 And I will pour out my wrath upon the wall, and ye shall be filled with it, and shall say unto you, There is no wall, and there is no plastering with it.

13.16 The prophets of Israel who prophesy to Jerusalem and see visions for her that are perfect, but they are not perfect, declares YHVH GOD.

13.17 And you, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people who prophesy out of their own heart, and prophesy against them.

13.18 And thou shalt say, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Woe unto them that sew vails upon all my servants, and make vails upon the top of every house to hunt souls. souls shall be hunted for my people, and souls shall live.

13.19 And you have profaned me among my people by the fire of the gates, and by the temptations of bread, to kill souls that should not die, and to keep souls alive that should not live, by your lies to my people, I have heard lies.

13.20 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I am against your coverings, where I will set the souls that are there for a prey, and I will tear them from off your arms, and will send forth the souls that are there for a prey.

13.21 And I will tear off your bands, and deliver my people out of your hand, and they shall no more be a stronghold in your hand. and ye shall know that I am YHVH.

13.22 For the heart of the righteous is broken in falsehood, and I have not afflicted him. and I have strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he return not from his evil way, to revive him.

13.23 Therefore you shall not use false divination, nor use divination any more. And I will deliver my people out of your hand, and you shall know that I am YHVH.

14.1 Then some of the elders of Israel came to me and sat before me.

14.2 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

14.3 Son of man, these men have set up their stumbling blocks upon their hearts, and have put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their faces. I will rebuke them.

14.4 Therefore speak unto them, and say unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Every man of the house of Israel that taketh up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet, I YHVH will answer him in the multitude of his idols.

14.5 That thou mayest take the house of Israel in their hearts, which are all of them that are turned away from me with their own wickedness.

14.6 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Return ye, and turn away from your idols, and from all your abominations turn your faces away.

14.7 For every man of the house of Israel, and of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, that separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet to inquire of me. I YHVH will answer him by me.

14.8 And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and will cut him off from among my people. and ye shall know that I am YHVH.

14.9 And if the prophet deceives himself, and speaks a word, I YHVH have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

14.10 And they shall bear their iniquity, as the iniquity of the preacher, as the iniquity of the prophet.

14.11 That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be defiled any more with all their transgressions. but they shall be my people, and I will be their God, saith YHVH GOD.

14.12 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

14.13 Son of man, when the land sins against me exceedingly, I will stretch out my hand against it, and break its staff of bread, and send famine upon it, and cut off man and beast from it.

14.14 And these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it; they shall deliver their souls by their righteousness, saith YHVH GOD.

14.15 If I cause an evil beast to pass through the land, and it be consumed, and become desolate, without any that passeth through because of the beast.

14.16 As for these three men in it, as I live, saith YHVH GOD, whether they shall deliver sons or daughters, they only shall be delivered, and the land shall be desolate.

14.17 Or will I bring a sword upon that land, and say, A sword shall pass through the land, and cut off man and beast from it?

14.18 And as for these three men in the midst of her, as I live, saith YHVH GOD, they shall deliver neither sons nor daughters; but they only shall be delivered.

14.19 Or will I send a word against that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast?

14.20 And Noah, Daniel, and Job, shall be in the midst of it. as I live, saith YHVH GOD, both son and daughter shall they deliver. they shall deliver their souls by their righteousness.

14.21 For thus saith YHVH GOD; Though the four evil judgments be sword, and famine, and evil beast, and I have sent a word unto Jerusalem, to cut off from it man and beast.

14.22 And behold, there remaineth in it a remnant of them that have begotten sons and daughters. behold, they come out unto you, and ye have seen their way and their abominations, and ye are comforted over the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even all that I have brought upon it.

14.23 And they shall comfort you, when you see their ways and their doings, and you shall know that I have not done in vain all that I have done in it, saith YHVH GOD.

15.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

15.2 Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any other tree of the sycamore tree that was among the trees of the forest?

15.3 He shall take wood from it to make a work, or a peg from it to hang any vessel on.

15.4 Behold, he gave both ends of it to the fire to devour; the fire devoured, and within it he snorted, and prospered in his work.

15.5 Behold, he is blameless, and shall not be used for work, though the fire has consumed him, and he shall be burned, and shall be used for work again.

15.6 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; As the vine tree is among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire to be consumed, so have I given the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

15.7 And I will set my face against them. they shall come forth out of the fire, and the fire shall devour them. and ye shall know that I am YHVH, when I set my face against them.

15.8 And I will make the land desolate, because of their transgression, saith YHVH GOD.

16.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

16.2 Son of man, declare to Jerusalem her abominations,

16.3 And thou shalt say, Thus saith YHVH GOD unto Jerusalem, Of thy sojournings, and of thy nativity, out of the land of the Canaanites. thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother a Hittite.

16.4 And your births, on the day you were born, you did not cut off your hair, nor did you wash yourself in water to make yourself clean, nor did you salt the salt, nor did you wash the linen cloth.

16.5 No eye spared you, to do you any of these things, to have compassion on you, but you were cast out upon the face of the field in disgust on the day you were born.

16.6 And I will pass over you, and see you wallowing in your blood, and I will say to you, By your blood I shall live, and I will say to you, By your blood I shall live.

16.7 I have made you fruitful like the plant of the field, and you shall increase and grow and come before me forever. Demons will dwell in you, and you will bring forth fruit, and their branches and their branches.

16.8 And I will pass over thee, and see thee. and, behold, thy time is the time of the dead. and I will spread my wings over thee, and cover thy nakedness. and I will swear unto thee, and enter into a covenant with thee, saith YHVH GOD; and thou shalt be mine.

16.9 And I will wash thee with water, and wash away thy blood from off thee, and anoint thee with oil.

16.10 And I will clothe you with embroidery, and I will shod you with scarlet, and I will cover you with silk, and I will cover you with silk.

16.11 And I will make you my witness, and will put bracelets on your hands, and a chain about your neck.

16.12 And I will put a ring on your nose, and earrings in your ears, and a crown of beauty upon your head.

16.13 And you shall be rich in gold and silver, and in your clothing in fine linen and silk and embroidered linen. You shall eat honey and oil, and you shall be exceedingly rich in sweetness, and you shall prosper in your kingdom.

16.14 And thy name shall go forth among the nations for thy beauty. for it is perfect in thy beauty that I have put upon thee, saith YHVH GOD.

16.15 And you trusted in your beauty, and played the harlot in your name, and poured out your whoredoms upon every one that passed by, and it was so.

16.16 And thou shalt take of thy garments, and make thee altars of patchwork, and play the harlot upon them. they shall not come, neither shall there be any.

16.17 And thou tookst thy beautiful vessels of my gold and of my silver, which I gave thee, and madest thee idols, and playedst a harlot with them.

16.18 And thou shalt take thy embroidered garments, and cover thyself; and I will put my oil and my frankincense before them.

16.19 And the bread which I gave thee, parched bread, and oil, and honey, I fed thee, and set it before them for a sweet savour. and it came to pass, saith YHVH GOD.

16.20 And take your sons and your daughters, whom you have borne to me, and sacrifice them to them, that they may eat the meager food of your provision.

16.21 And you will slaughter my sons and give them as gifts to them.

16.22 And I have not remembered all your abominations and your whoredoms, the days of your youth, when you were naked and naked, and were wallowing in your blood.

16.23 And it shall come to pass after all thy wickedness, Woe, woe unto thee, saith YHVH GOD.

16.24 And thou shalt build thee a wall, and make thee a high place in every street.

16.25 At every head of the way you built your high place and made your beauty abominable, and you spread out your feet to every passerby and multiplied your food.

16.26 And thou shalt commit whoredom with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great in flesh, and shalt multiply thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.

16.27 And, behold, I will stretch out my hand upon thee, and will cut off thy right hand, and will deliver thee into the hand of the daughters of the Philistines, which hate thee, which are a reproach unto thee by thy whoredom.

16.28 And thou shalt play the harlot with the children of Assyria, and shalt not be satisfied. and thou shalt play the harlot, and shalt not be satisfied.

16.29 And you multiplied your whoredoms in the land of Canaan, as in the land of Dimah, and yet you were not satisfied with them.

16.30 What shall I do to your daughter, saith YHVH GOD? In doing all these things, thou hast ruled as a harlot.

16.31 With your daughters I have made your back the head of every road, and I have made your highness in every street, and I have not been a harlot to the gods of Athens.

16.32 The adulterous woman will take strangers as her wife.

16.33 They will give a gift to every whore, and you will give your concubines to all your lovers, and you will bribe them to come to you from all around with your whoredoms.

16.34 And it shall come to pass, that in thee he hath turned away from the women in thy whoredoms, and after thee hath not been a harlot, and thy daughter hath not given thee a wife, and she hath been turned away from thee.

16.35 Therefore, O harlot, hear the word of YHVH.

16.36 Thus saith YHVH GOD; Because thou hast poured out thy broth, and thy nakedness was discovered in thy whoredoms upon thy lovers, and upon all the idols of thine abominations, and upon the blood of thy children which thou hast given unto them.

16.37 Therefore, behold, I will gather all your lovers, for whom you have sworn, and all those whom you have loved, and all those whom you have hated; and I will gather them against you on every side, and I will uncover your nakedness to them, and they shall see all your nakedness.

16.38 And I have judged you with the judgments of adulterers, and you have shed blood, and I have given you the blood of wrath and jealousy.

16.39 And I will deliver thee into their hand, and they shall break thy back, and break in pieces thy high places, and strip thee of thy garments, and take thy beautiful vessels, and they shall leave thee in their cities and in their villages.

16.40 And they shall bring up a multitude against thee, and shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.

16.41 And they shall burn your houses with fire, and execute judgments upon you in the sight of many women, and make you a harlot, and you shall not be given to women any more.

16.42 And I will cause my wrath to cease from thee, and my jealousy shall depart from thee. and I will be quiet, and will be angry no more.

16.43 Because I have not remembered the days of your youth, and you have provoked me to anger with all these things, I also have set your way before me, says YHVH GOD, and have not done the lewdness of all your abominations.

16.44 Behold, everyone who uses proverbs about you will use proverbs, saying, “As a mother is like her daughter,

16.45 Your mother's daughter was a woman named Gelat, and her children, and your sister's sister, whom their men and their children had given into slavery. Your mother was a Hittite, and your father was an Immerite.

16.46 And thy elder sister is Shimron and her daughters, which dwell on thy left hand. and thy younger sister, which dwelleth on thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.

16.47 And you have not walked in their ways, nor have you done as little as their abominations, and have corrupted yourself by them in all your ways.

16.48 As I live, saith YHVH GOD, if Sodom thy sister, she and her daughters, have done as thou hast done unto thee and to thy daughters,

16.49 Behold, this was the iniquity of Sodom, thy sister Gaon, which was satisfied with bread, and had peace and quiet, and did not help the hand of the poor and needy.

16.50 And they were haughty, and did abominations before me. and I took them away, as I saw.

16.51 And Samaria has not committed half of your sins, but you have multiplied your abominations in your pleasure, and have justified your sister in all your abominations which I have committed.

16.52 And the shame of your speech, which you have committed against your sister, in your sins which you abhorred, shall be cleared of you; and also the shame and shame of your speech, in your righteousness, your sister.

16.53 And I will restore their houses, the houses of Sodom and her daughters, and the houses of Samaria and her daughters, and I will restore your houses in the midst of them.

16.54 That thou mayest be ashamed of thy word, and be ashamed of all that thou hast done in thy consolation.

16.55 And thy sisters, Sodom and her daughters shall bow down before them, and Samaria and her daughters shall bow down before them; and thou and thy daughters shalt bow down before you.

16.56 And if your sister Sodom had not been a cause of renown in your mouth on the day of your destruction,

16.57 Before your evil is revealed, like the time of the disgrace of the daughters of Aram and all her neighbors, the daughters of the Philistines, who despise you all around.

16.58 You have borne your shame and your abominations, says YHVH.

16.59 For thus saith YHVH GOD; and thou shalt do unto thee as thou didst to the olive tree, to break the covenant.

16.60 And I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish an everlasting covenant with you.

16.61 And you remembered your ways and were disgraced in taking your sisters, your elder sisters, for your younger sisters, and I gave them to you as daughters, but not by your covenant.

16.62 And I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall know that I am YHVH.

16.63 That thou mayest remember and be ashamed, and never again open thy mouth because of thy words in my sight, for all that thou hast done, saith YHVH GOD.

17.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

17.2 The son of man putteth forth a riddle, and a parable unto the house of Israel.

17.3 And thou shalt say, Thus saith YHVH GOD; The great eagle, with great wings, long in body, full of feathers, having a pattern, came unto Lebanon, and took the top of the cedar.

17.4 He cut off the head of his sucklings, and brought him to the land of Canaan, to the city of Rechlim, whose name was

17.5 And he took of the seed of the land, and planted it in the field, and took seed by many waters, and called it poplar.

17.6 And it grew, and became a spreading vine, with low branches, and its branches turned toward it, and its roots were under it; and it became a vine, and made branches, and sent forth branches.

17.7 And there was a great eagle with great wings and many feathers, and behold, this vine was like a vine with its roots and branches, and it sent forth to him to water it from the wells of his vineyard.

17.8 In a good field, by many waters, it is planted, that it may produce branches, and bear fruit, that it may be a glorious vine.

17.9 He said, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Shall it not prosper? Shall not its roots be plucked up, and its fruit be cut off, and wither? shall all the spoil of its growth be withered, and not with much seed, nor with much people to pluck it up by the roots?

17.10 And behold, the plant is planted, and the east wind touches it, and it withers. It withers because of the longing of the plant.

17.11 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

17.12 Say now to the rebellious house, Do you not know what these things are? Behold, the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, and took her king and her princes, and brought them to him to Babylon.

17.13 And he took of the seed of the kingdom, and made a covenant with him, and brought him into the land, and took the chiefs of the land.

17.14 To be a lowly kingdom, not to be haughty, to keep his covenant, to stand firm.

17.15 And he rebelled against him, sending his messengers to Egypt to give him horses, and with a great company he succeeded in escaping, he who did these things, and broke the covenant, and fled.

17.16 As I live, saith YHVH GOD, surely in the place of the king that reigned over him, that despised his god, and that broke his covenant with him, he shall die in the midst of Babylon.

17.17 And Pharaoh will not do it with a great army and a great multitude, in battle at the mouth of the river, and in the valleys of the river, to cut off many souls.

17.18 And this is what he did to break the covenant, and behold, he gave his hand, and all these he did, he shall not escape.

17.19 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; As I live, if I had not made thee a god, and created thee, and put it upon his head,

17.20 And I will spread my net over him, and he shall be taken in my trap, and I will bring him to Babylon, and I will enter into judgment with him there for his transgressions which are against me.

17.21 And all his fugitives on all sides shall fall by the sword, and he that remaineth shall be scattered to every wind. and ye shall know that I YHVH have spoken it.

17.22 Thus saith YHVH GOD; I will take of the top of the lofty cedar, and will make of the top of his tender shoots a tender branch, and will plant it upon a high and lofty mountain.

17.23 I will plant it on Mount Merom, the height of Israel, and it will bear branches and bear fruit, and it will become a mighty cedar. Under it will dwell all kinds of birds. In the shadow of its branches will dwell all kinds of birds.

17.24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I am YHVH. I have brought down the high tree, and exalted the low tree, I have dried up the green tree, and made the dry tree flourish. I YHVH have spoken, and I have done it.

18.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

18.2 Why do you use this proverb concerning the land of Israel, saying, The fathers shall eat the fat, and the two sons shall be deaf?

18.3 As I live, saith YHVH GOD, if this proverb were to be used again in Israel,

18.4 Behold, all souls are mine. as the soul of the father, so is the soul of the son. the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

18.5 And if a man be righteous, and do that which is just and right,

18.6 He has not eaten on the mountains, nor has he lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, nor has he defiled his neighbor's wife, nor has he approached a divorced woman.

18.7 And no one shall be hurt by his injury; he shall repay the debt; he shall not steal by robbery; he shall give his bread to the hungry, and he shall cover their city with a garment.

18.8 He shall not give by oppression, nor take increase. he shall withdraw his hand from oppression, he shall execute true judgment between man and man.

18.9 He that walketh in my statutes, and keepeth my judgments, to do truth, he that is righteous shall surely live, saith YHVH GOD.

18.10 And he begat a son of Peritz, a blood-spiller, and made a brother of one of these.

18.11 And he did not do all these things, but he also ate on the mountains and defiled his neighbor's wife.

18.12 He has robbed the poor and needy, he has robbed and robbed, he will not restore, and he has lifted up his eyes to the captives, he has committed abomination.

18.13 He who has taken and taken and lived, he shall not live; he who has committed all these abominations shall surely be put to death; his blood shall be upon him.

18.14 And, behold, he begat a son, and he saw all the sins of his father which he had done, and he saw that he should not be a priest.

18.15 He has not eaten on the mountains, nor lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, nor defiled his neighbor's wife.

18.16 And he did not defraud anyone, he did not rob anyone, he did not rob anyone, he gave his bread to the hungry, and he covered the naked with a garment.

18.17 He who has withdrawn his hand from me, he has bitten and taken no bribe, he has executed my judgments, he has walked in my statutes, he shall not die for the iniquity of his father; he shall surely live.

18.18 His father, because he oppressed, robbed, and robbed his brother, and did that which was not good among his people, and behold, he died in his iniquity.

18.19 And ye say, The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father. but the son that hath done judgment and righteousness, and hath kept all my statutes, and done them, shall surely live.

18.20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son. the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

18.21 But if the wicked turn from all his sins that he has committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

18.22 All his transgressions that he hath committed shall not be remembered against him. in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.

18.23 I delight in the death of the wicked, says YHVH GOD; but if he turns from his ways and lives,

18.24 But when the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, according to all the abominations that the wicked man hath done, he shall do, and live. all his righteousness that he hath done shall not be remembered. his transgression that is above, and his sin that he hath sinned, in them he shall die.

18.25 And ye say, The way of YHVH is not possible. hear now, O house of Israel, my ways are not possible. are not your ways possible?

18.26 When a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity and dies for them, in the iniquity that he has committed he shall die.

18.27 But when the wicked turneth from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.

18.28 And he shall see, and turn from all his transgressions which he hath committed; he shall surely live; he shall not die.

18.29 And they said, The house of Israel cannot walk in the way of YHVH. my ways cannot walk in the way of YHVH. therefore your ways cannot walk in the way of YHVH.

18.30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith YHVH GOD. Return, and turn from all your transgressions, and let not iniquity be a stumbling block unto you.

18.31 Cast away from you all your transgressions, by which you have transgressed, and make you a new heart and a new spirit. for why will you die, O house of Israel?

18.32 For I have no pleasure in the death of him that is dead, saith YHVH GOD. but he shall return, and live.

19.1 And you shall take up a lamentation for the princes of Israel

19.2 And you said, "What is your mother, a lioness among lions, lying down in the midst of the villages, raising her whelps?"

19.3 And one of his people went forth, and was a profane man, and learned to devour the prey of man.

19.4 And the nations heard of him, because of their wickedness he was taken captive, and they brought him with a rod into the land of Egypt.

19.5 And she saw that she had lost her inheritance, and she took one of her neighbors, an infidel, who had died.

19.6 And he walked among lions, and was a fierce lion. and he learned to catch the prey of men.

19.7 And he knew his widows, and their cities he destroyed, and the land was filled with the sound of his roaring.

19.8 And the nations shall come against him from all the countries round about, and shall spread their net against him, and he shall be taken in their wickedness.

19.9 And they put him in chains, and brought him to the king of Babylon. they brought him in chains, that his voice should no more be heard upon the mountains of Israel.

19.10 Your mother is like a vine in your blood, planted by the waters, fruitful and with many branches.

19.11 And she had the staves of a goat, according to the tribes of the Philistines. and her stature was exalted above the thickets, and she was seen in her height by the multitude of her branches.

19.12 And the heat of the earth hath consumed it, and the east wind hath dried up its fruit. the rod of Gaza hath withered, and the fire hath devoured it.

19.13 And now it is planted in the wilderness, in a land of drought and thirst.

19.14 And fire went out from the rod of the foreskin, and devoured its fruit, and there was no rod of a strong tribe in it to rule it. it was a lamentation, and it became a lamentation.

20.1 And it came to pass in the seventh year, on the fifteenth day of the tenth month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of YHVH, and sat before him.

20.2 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

20.3 Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and say to them, Thus says YHVH GOD. Come ye to inquire of me, as I live, if I inquire of you, saith YHVH GOD.

20.4 Judge them, O son of man, judge them, declare to them the abominations of their fathers.

20.5 And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD; In that day shall I choose Israel, and lift up mine hand unto the seed of the house of Jacob, and make them known in the land of Egypt, and lift up mine hand unto them, saying, I am YHVH your God.

20.6 On that day I lifted up my hand to them to bring them out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had promised them, flowing with milk and honey, like the land of the ravens, like the land of the ravens.

20.7 And he said unto them, Cast away the abominations of your eyes, and defile not yourselves with the dung of Egypt. I am YHVH your God.

20.8 But they rebelled against me, and I will not hearken unto me. they have not cast away the abominations of their eyes, neither have they forsaken the idols of Egypt. and I said, I will pour out my fury upon them, to spend my wrath upon them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

20.9 And I will act for my name's sake, that it may not be profaned before the eyes of the nations among whom they are, in whose sight I made myself known to them, in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

20.10 And I brought them out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.

20.11 And I will give them my statutes, and I will make known to them my judgments, which if a man do, he shall live in them.

20.12 Moreover I gave them my Sabbaths to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am YHVH that sanctify them.

20.13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness; they walked not in my statutes, and they abhorred my judgments, which a man shall do, and live in them; and they greatly profaned my sabbaths. and I said, I will pour out my wrath upon them in the wilderness, that they may consume them.

20.14 And I will act for my name's sake, that it may not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I have brought you out.

20.15 And I also lifted up my hand against them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given to all lands, flowing with milk and honey,

20.16 Because they rejected my judgments, and my statutes they did not walk in, and my Sabbaths they profaned. for their heart went after their idols.

20.17 And I spared them from destroying them, and I did not make a complete end of them in the wilderness.

20.18 And I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, neither defile yourselves with their idols.

20.19 I am YHVH your God, walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them.

20.20 And hallow my Sabbaths. and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am YHVH your God.

20.21 But the children rebelled against me; they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments, to do them, which a man shall do, and live in them. they profaned my sabbaths. and I said, I will pour out my wrath upon them, to spend my wrath upon them in the wilderness.

20.22 And I will withdraw my hand, and will do for my name's sake, that it be not profaned in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I have brought them out.

20.23 I also lifted up my hand against them in the wilderness to scatter them among the nations, and to disperse them through the countries.

20.24 Because they did not execute my judgments, but rejected my statutes, and profaned my Sabbaths, and their eyes were after the idols of their fathers.

20.25 And I also gave them statutes that were not good, and judgments, whereby they should not live.

20.26 And I will defile them with their own bodies, in that they shall cast out all that openeth the womb, that I may make them desolate, that they may know that I am YHVH.

20.27 Therefore speak unto the house of Israel, son of man, and say unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Yet in this also your fathers have blasphemed me in secret, in transgression against me.

20.28 And when I had brought them into the land, which I lifted up my hand to give them, and they saw every high hill, and every luxuriant tree, there they offered their sacrifices, and there they offered the incense of their offering, and there they poured out their drink offerings.

20.29 And he said unto them, What is the place where ye come? And he called the place called the place unto this day.

20.30 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith YHVH GOD; In the way of your fathers ye are defiled, and after their abominations ye commit whoredom.

20.31 And when you offer your gifts, when you make your sons pass through the fire, you defile yourselves with all your idols to this day, and I will require it of you, house of Israel, as I live, saith YHVH GOD, if I require it of you.

20.32 And it shall not be so with you, as ye say, We will be as the nations, and as the families of the lands, to serve wood and stone.

20.33 As I live, saith YHVH GOD, surely with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, will I rule over you.

20.34 And I will bring you out from the peoples, and gather you out of the countries wherein ye have been scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out.

20.35 And I will bring you into the wilderness of the people, and there I will plead with you face to face.

20.36 As I judged your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I judge you, saith YHVH GOD.

20.37 And I will bring you under the tribe, and I will bring you in with the covenant message.

20.38 And I will drive out from among you the rebellious and transgressors against me out of the land where they dwell, and they shall not enter the land of Israel; and you shall know that I am YHVH.

20.39 And as for you, house of Israel, thus saith YHVH GOD; Go ye every man to his idols, serve him. and if ye will not hearken unto me, and my holy name ye shall no more profane with your gifts, and with your idols.

20.40 For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith YHVH GOD, there shall all the house of Israel serve me, even all of them in the land. there shall their land be. and there will I require your heave offerings, and the firstfruits of your vows, with all your holy things.

20.41 I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations.

20.42 And ye shall know that I am YHVH, when I bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I lifted up mine hand to give unto your fathers.

20.43 And there you will remember your ways and all your abominations by which you have defiled yourselves, and you will be ashamed of all your evil deeds that you have committed.

20.44 And ye shall know that I am YHVH, when I deal with you for my name's sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, O house of Israel, saith YHVH GOD.

21.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

21.2 Son of man, set thy face toward Timnah, and turn thee toward the south, and prophesy toward the forest of the field southward.

21.3 And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of YHVH. Thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree. the flame of the fire shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.

21.4 And all flesh shall see that I am YHVH. I have kindled a fire, it shall not be quenched.

21.5 And I said, Ah, Lord GOD! They say to me, Is not this a government of parables?

21.6 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

21.7 Son of man, set your face toward Jerusalem, and prophesy against the sanctuaries, and prophesy against the land of Israel.

21.8 And thou shalt say unto the land of Israel, Thus saith YHVH; Behold, I am against thee, and will draw out my sword out of its sheath, and will cut off from thee the righteous and the wicked.

21.9 Because I have discerned from you the righteous and the wicked, therefore my sword shall go forth from its sheath against all flesh from the north west.

21.10 And all flesh shall know that I am YHVH. I have drawn forth my sword out of his sheath; it shall not return any more.

21.11 And you, son of man, sigh with broken loins, and sigh bitterly before their eyes.

21.12 And it shall come to pass, when they shall say unto thee, Why sighest thou? and thou shalt say unto thee, For a rumour is come; and every heart shall melt, and all hands shall be feeble, and every spirit shall be faint, and all knees shall be weak as water. Behold, it is come, and it shall be, saith YHVH GOD.

21.13 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

21.14 Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith YHVH; A sword, a sword, is drawn, and also a snared.

21.15 For the slaughter of the slaughter of Hodah, that she might have lightning, or a lightning, the tribe of the sons of Masah, every tree.

21.16 And he gave it to Martha to take hold of in the palm; she sharpened a sword, and Martha to give it into the hand of a murderer.

21.17 Cry out and shout, son of man, for she is among my people, she is among all the princes of Israel, my dwelling place is against the sword, my people are against the sword, therefore doubt not against the thigh.

21.18 For behold, what if the tribe of Asher also shall not be, saith YHVH GOD?

21.19 And you, son of man, prophesy, and go hand in hand, and a sword shall be doubled, and a sword shall be cut in three parts, the sword of the slain, the sword of the great slain, which you shall cause to fall upon them.

21.20 To make their hearts faint, and to multiply their stumbling blocks, I have given them a flaming sword, made of lightning, a sword for slaughter.

21.21 Unite, right hand, right hand, where is your face from the witnesses?

21.22 I also will strike my hand with my hand, and I will cause my wrath to rest. I YHVH have spoken.

21.23 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

21.24 And thou, son of man, appoint thee two ways, that the sword of the king of Babylon may come out of one land. both shall come forth, and the hand of YHVH shall make a way for the city.

21.25 The sword will come upon Rabbah of the children of Ammon and Judah in Jerusalem in the form of a sword.

21.26 For the king of Babylon stood at the head of the two ways, to cast divination, to cast spells, to cast arrows, to consult mediums, to see with the liver.

21.27 In our days the magic was Jerusalem, to put up ramparts, to open a mouth in murder, to raise a voice in exultation, to put ramparts on the gates, to pour a pavement, to build a wall.

21.28 And it shall be unto them as a divination, a vain divination in their eyes, seven sevens to them, and he shall bring to remembrance the iniquity of their captivity.

21.29 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Because ye have remembered your iniquity, in the discovery of your transgressions, in the showing of your sins, in all your abominations, because ye have remembered your iniquity, ye shall be taken with the palm of your hand.

21.30 And you, the wicked prince of Israel, whose day has come at the time of the iniquity of the end,

21.31 Thus saith YHVH GOD; Take off the turban, and lift up the crown. this is not so. the abasement of the proud, and the proud he abaseth.

21.32 Oh, oh, oh, I will not let this happen again, until the one to whom the judgment belongs comes and I give it to him.

21.33 And thou, son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith YHVH GOD concerning the children of Ammon, and concerning their shame. and thou shalt say, A sword, a sword, is drawn for the slaughter, drawn out to devour for the sake of lightning.

21.34 In vain visions, in false sorceries, to give you into the hands of the wicked, whose day has come, in the time of the iniquity of the end.

21.35 Return to your place where you were created, to the land of your birth, I will judge you.

21.36 And I will pour out my fury upon you with fire; I will pass over you, and I will blow upon you, and I will deliver you into the hand of men, into the cities of the destroyers.

21.37 You shall be for fire to consume; your blood shall be in the midst of the earth; you shall not remember it. for I YHVH have spoken it.

22.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

22.2 And you, son of man, judge, judge the bloody city, and declare to her all her abominations.

22.3 And thou shalt say, Thus saith YHVH GOD; The city hath shed blood in the midst thereof, and hath made idols therein to defile it.

22.4 By your blood that you have shed, and by your transgressions that you have defiled yourself, and you have brought your days to an end, and you have come to your years, therefore I have made you a reproach to the nations, and a reproach to all countries.

22.5 The near and far will gather around you, the uncleanness of YHVH, the great turmoil.

22.6 Behold, the princes of Israel, every one of his seed, were in thee to shed blood.

22.7 They have oppressed father and mother in thee, they have oppressed the stranger in thee, they have oppressed the fatherless and the widow in thee.

22.8 I have sanctified the olive tree, and I have profaned my Sabbaths.

22.9 Men of deceit were in thee to shed blood, and to the mountains they devoured in thee, they committed whoredom in the midst of thee.

22.10 The nakedness of a father is revealed in you, the impurity of a stranger is answered in you.

22.11 And a man hath committed abomination with his neighbour's wife, and a man hath defiled his daughter-in-law with lewdness, and a man hath defiled his sister, his father's daughter, with thee.

22.12 They have taken you for a prey, that you may shed blood, and have multiplied, and have oppressed your neighbors, and have forgotten me, saith YHVH GOD.

22.13 And behold, I will strike you with the palm of a god, for your sins which you have committed, and for your blood which is in the midst of you.

22.14 Let your heart be steadfast, and let your hands be strong, for the days in which I have made you. I, YHVH, have spoken, and I have done it.

22.15 And I will scatter you among the nations, and disperse you through the countries, and I will purge your filthiness from you.

22.16 And thou shalt be an inheritance in the sight of the heathen. and thou shalt know that I am YHVH.

22.17 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

22.18 Son of man, the house of Israel is to me like brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, all of them in the midst of a smelting furnace; they are silver.

22.19 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Because ye are all rebellious, therefore, behold, I will gather you into the midst of Jerusalem.

22.20 As you gather silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, into a furnace, to blow fire upon it, to melt it. so will I gather you in my nose and in my fury, and will bring you down, and melt you.

22.21 And I will bring you in, and blow upon you with a fire that I have passed through, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof.

22.22 As silver is melted in the midst of a furnace, so shall ye be melted in the midst thereof. and ye shall know that I am YHVH, which have poured out my fury upon you.

22.23 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

22.24 The son of man said to her, "The land is not defiled; it is not filled in the day of wrath."

22.25 A conspiracy of her prophets in the midst of her is like a roaring lion, devouring the prey, devouring the soul; they have devoured the good and the precious; they have taken away her widows, they have multiplied in the midst of her.

22.26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned my holy things. they have not put difference between the holy and the common, neither have they made distinction between the unclean and the clean. and they have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am in their midst.

22.27 The kings in her midst are like wolves ravening their prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls for the sake of greed.

22.28 And her prophets have divined for them vanity, and lying divination, saying, Thus saith YHVH GOD; but YHVH hath not spoken.

22.29 They have oppressed the people of the land with oppression, and have taken plunder by robbery; and the poor and needy have their wealth, and they have oppressed the stranger without justice.

22.30 And I asked of them a man to make a fence, and to stand in the breach before me, that the land should not be washed away. but I found none.

22.31 And I will pour out my fury upon them with fire. I will pass through them with arrows, and I will bring them upon their heads, saith YHVH GOD.

23.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

23.2 A man had two wives, the daughters of one mother.

23.3 And they committed whoredoms in Egypt in their youth; there they committed whoredoms from the breasts of their virgins, and there they made their virgins naked.

23.4 And their names were Aholah the elder, and Oholibah her sister. and they were mine, and bare them sons and daughters. and their names were Shimron Aholah, and Jerusalem Oholibah.

23.5 And she pitched her tent under me, and went to Assyria, her neighbors, for her lovers.

23.6 I am clothed in blue, and my officers are all handsome young men, all of them horsemen and chariots.

23.7 And she gave her whoredoms upon them, all the choice of the Assyrians, and with all their idols she defiled herself.

23.8 And she did not forsake her whoredoms from Egypt, for they lay with her in her youth, and these were the acts of her virginity, and they poured out their whoredoms upon her.

23.9 Therefore I gave her into the hand of her lovers, into the hand of the Assyrians, upon whom she lusted.

23.10 They uncovered her nakedness, they took her sons and her daughters, and slew her with the sword, and she became a place for women, and judges were made in her.

23.11 And her sister Oholibah saw it, and she committed adultery with her, and her whoredoms with her sister's whoredoms.

23.12 The Assyrians are a small army, and their commanders are armed with chariots and horsemen, all of them handsome young men.

23.13 And I saw that the way of one was defiled for both of them.

23.14 And she added to her whoredoms, and saw men who imitated her on the wall, Chaldean idols engraved with brass.

23.15 Girded with girdles on their loins, with veils on their heads, the appearance of thirty, all of them the image of the children of Babylon, the Chaldeans, the land of their birth.

23.16 And she was angry with them at the sight of her eyes, and sent messengers to them as she had imagined.

23.17 And the Babylonians came to her to lie with her, and they defiled her with their whoredoms, and she was defiled with them, and her soul was vexed with them.

23.18 And her whoredoms were discovered, and her nakedness was discovered. and my soul was grieved for her, as my soul was grieved for her sister.

23.19 And she multiplied her whoredoms, remembering the days of her youth, when she played the harlot in the land of Egypt.

23.20 And she was envious of their concubines, whose flesh was the flesh of asses, and whose issue was the issue of horses.

23.21 And you shall fulfill the lust of your youth by making your brothers from Egypt, for the sake of the breasts of your youth.

23.22 Therefore, O Oholibah, thus says YHVH GOD. Behold, I will stir up your lovers against you, from whom your soul is abhorred, and I will bring them against you from every side.

23.23 The children of Babylon, and all the Chaldeans, Pekod, and Shua, and Kue, all the children of Assyria, those young men of less esteem, and captains of thirty, all of them called chariots of horses.

23.24 And the chariot and the wheel shall come upon thee, and the company of the peoples, and the shield and the buckler, and they shall set thee round about. and I will set judgment before them, and I will judge thee according to their judgments.

23.25 And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal with thee in fury. thy nose and thine ears shall they take away, and thy residue shall fall by the sword. they shall take thy sons and thy daughters, and thy residue shall be devoured with fire.

23.26 And they stripped you of your garments and took away your beautiful jewels.

23.27 And I will bring back thy lewdness from thee, and thy whoredoms from the land of Egypt. and thou shalt not lift up thine eyes unto them, neither shalt thou remember Egypt any more.

23.28 For thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I will deliver thee into the hand which thou hatest, into the hand from which thy soul is abhorred.

23.29 And they shall deal with thee in hatred, and shall take away all thy labours, and shall forsake thee, and the city and the suburbs thereof, and the nakedness of thy whoredoms, and thy lewdness, and thy whoredoms, shall be discovered.

23.30 These things have you done to yourself in your whoredoms after the nations, in that you were defiled with their idols.

23.31 You went the way of your sister, and I gave you a cup in your hand.

23.32 Thus saith YHVH GOD; The cup of thy sister thou shalt drink, deep and broad, shall be for laughter and for mockery, and shall contain much.

23.33 Drunkenness and sorrow fill her cup, and desolation is the cup of your sister Samaria.

23.34 And thou shalt drink it, and burn it, and shalt break the vessels thereof, and thy breasts shalt thou tear off. for I have spoken it, saith YHVH GOD.

23.35 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Because thou hast forgotten me, and hast cast me away after thy Gog, and thy lewdness, and thy whoredoms,

23.36 And YHVH said unto me, Son of man, judge Aholah and Oholibah, and declare unto them their abominations.

23.37 For they have baked with blood in their hands, and they have baked their own idols, and have also given their own sons, whom they bore to me, to be eaten by them.

23.38 They did this to me. they defiled my sanctuary on that day and profaned my Sabbaths.

23.39 And when they slaughtered their children for their idols, and came into my sanctuary on that day to profane it, behold, thus they did in the midst of my house.

23.40 And even if you send it to people who come from afar, to whom an angel is sent, and behold, they come to you, to whom you have washed the blueness of your eyes, and to whom I have witnessed.

23.41 And thou shalt sit upon the throne of her glory, and shalt spread a table before it, and shalt pour incense and oil upon it.

23.42 And the voice of a great multitude was heard in it, and unto a multitude of men were brought Sabeans from the wilderness, and they put bracelets upon their hands, and crowns of beauty upon their heads.

23.43 And he said unto Bela, When she committed fornication, and she

23.44 And he came unto her, as one cometh unto a harlot. so they came unto Ahala, and unto Oholibah the lewd woman.

23.45 And righteous men shall judge them with the judgment of adultery and with the judgment of bloodshed. for adultery is committed, and blood is in their hands.

23.46 For thus saith YHVH GOD; I will bring up a company against them, and will deliver them to be a hissing and a reproach.

23.47 And they shall stone them with a great stone, and they shall slay them with their swords. they shall kill their sons and their daughters, and burn their houses with fire.

23.48 And I will bring a curse upon the land, and all women shall be cut off, and they shall not do as they have done.

23.49 And I will lay your iniquity upon you, and the sins of your transgressions shall not be borne. and ye shall know that I am YHVH GOD.

24.1 And it came to pass in the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth day of the month, that the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

24.2 Son of man, write thee the name of the day, this very day, the king of Babylon laid siege to Jerusalem, this very day.

24.3 And speak a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD; The brim of the pot is brimful, and he also poureth water therein.

24.4 He gathered her pieces into it, every good piece, the thigh and the shoulder, the choice of all things.

24.5 The choice of the flock is taken, and also the generation of the things under it, its boilings are also boiled, its things are also cooked within it.

24.6 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Woe to the bloody city, a pot wherein is her filthiness, and her filthiness is not gone out of her. she hath cast it out, her lot hath not fallen upon her.

24.7 For her blood was in her upon the dry rock, which was dead. thou didst not pour it upon the ground to cover it with dust.

24.8 To bring forth wrath, to avenge vengeance, I have given her blood upon a dry rock, that it may not be covered.

24.9 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD, Woe unto the bloody city, I will also kindle a fire.

24.10 The fire is full of wood, the flesh and the broth and the bones are burned.

24.11 And she set a fire upon the coals thereof, to heat it, and burn it with fire, and melt it in the midst of her, and her uncleanness shall be consumed.

24.12 You have burned figs, and you will not come out of them; your filth will be burned in the fire.

24.13 In your uncleanness you are a prostitute, because you have been purified, and you are not cleansed from your uncleanness. You shall not be cleansed any more until I have caused my wrath to rest upon you.

24.14 I YHVH have spoken; I will come and do it. I will not spare, nor will I have mercy, according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, which thou hast judged, saith YHVH GOD.

24.15 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

24.16 Son of man, behold, I will take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a plague. thou shalt neither lament, nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.

24.17 You shall drink the blood of the dead, but you shall not do it. You shall be girded with girdles, and your sandals shall be on your feet, and you shall not touch a beard, and you shall not eat the bread of men.

24.18 And I spoke to the people in the morning, and my wife died in the evening, and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

24.19 And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are unto us? for thou hast done these things.

24.20 And he said unto them, The word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

24.21 Say to the house of Israel, Thus says YHVH GOD. Behold, I will defile the sanctuaries of the glory of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and the delight of your soul. and your sons and your daughters, whom you left by the sword, shall fall.

24.22 And you shall do as I have done. you shall not touch a mustache, and you shall not eat the bread of men.

24.23 And your adornment shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet. ye shall not mourn, nor weep, but shall mourn for your iniquities, and shall grumble every man against his brother.

24.24 And Ezekiel shall be unto you a sign. according to all that he hath done shall ye do in the coming. and ye shall know that I am YHVH GOD.

24.25 And you, son of man, did you not, on the day I took from them their stronghold, their glory, the delight of their eyes, and the desire of their soul, their sons and their daughters?

24.26 In that day the fugitive will come to you to listen to you.

24.27 In that day shall thy mouth be opened, that thou mayest speak, and be no more dumb. and thou shalt be a sign unto them, and they shall know that I am YHVH.

25.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

25.2 Son of man, set your face toward the children of Ammon, and prophesy against them.

25.3 And thou shalt say unto the children of Ammon, Hear the word of YHVH GOD; Thus saith YHVH GOD; Because thou hast spoken against my sanctuary, that it is desolate, and against the land of Israel, that it is desolate, and against the house of Judah, that they have gone into captivity.

25.4 Therefore, behold, I will give thee to the ancients for a possession, and they shall set their castles in thee, and make their dwellings in thee. they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.

25.5 And I will give Rabbah for a plain of camels, and the children of Ammon for a fold of flocks. and ye shall know that I am YHVH.

25.6 For thus saith YHVH GOD; Because thou hast stretched out thy hand, and stamped with thy foot, and hast rejoiced with all thy soul toward the land of Israel.

25.7 Therefore, behold, I will stretch out my hand against you, and will deliver you to the nations, and I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will destroy you from the countries. and you shall know that I am YHVH.

25.8 Thus saith YHVH GOD; Because Moab and Seir have said, Behold, the house of Judah, like all the nations,

25.9 Therefore, behold, I will open the shoulder of Moab, from the cities of his cities, from the edge of his land, the land of Beth-jeshemesh, Baal-maon, and Kirtah.

25.10 I will give it to the children of Ammon as a possession, that the children of Ammon may not be remembered among the nations.

25.11 And I will execute judgments in Moab; and they shall know that I am YHVH.

25.12 Thus saith YHVH GOD; Because Edom hath taken vengeance on the house of Judah, and they have committed iniquity, and have taken vengeance on them.

25.13 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; I will stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and cut off man and beast from it, and will deliver it to the sword from Yemen. and Dedan shall fall by the sword.

25.14 And I will lay my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they shall make Edom their prey, and my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith YHVH GOD.

25.15 Thus saith YHVH GOD; Because the Philistines have dealt with vengeance, and have taken vengeance with avarice, to destroy the everlasting enemy.

25.16 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and will cut off Crete, and destroy the remnant of the seacoast.

25.17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with fierce rebukes. and they shall know that I am YHVH, which have laid my vengeance upon them.

26.1 And it came to pass in the tenth year of Achish, in the first day of the month, that the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

26.2 Son of man, because you said, "The siege against Jerusalem is severe; the gates of the peoples are broken; they have turned to me, and I am filled with desolation."

26.3 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I am against thee, and will bring up many nations against thee, as the sea bringeth up his waves.

26.4 And they destroyed the cities of Tyre, and destroyed her towers. and I scraped the dust from her, and made her a barren rock.

26.5 She shall be a desolation in the midst of the sea. for I have spoken it, saith YHVH GOD; and she shall be a desolation to the nations.

26.6 And her daughters that are in the field shall I slay with the sword. and they shall know that I am YHVH.

26.7 For thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I will bring upon thee Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, a king of kings from the north, with horses, and with chariots, and with horsemen, and with a company, and a great people.

26.8 He will kill your daughters in the field with the sword, and he will cast a siege rampart over you, and he will cast a siege rampart over you, and he will raise a siege rampart over you.

26.9 And he will give your life to your mothers-in-law, and he will slay your nursemaids with his swords.

26.10 At the sound of the snorting of his horses he will trample my feet. At the sound of the horseman, the wheel, and the chariot, your walls will shake at the coming in of your gates, as when a city comes out of the valley.

26.11 With the hoofs of his horses he will trample all your streets; he will kill your people with the sword, and your strongholds will go down to the ground.

26.12 And they shall spoil thy strength, and take away thy spoil, and break down thy walls, and break down thy pleasant houses, and cast thy stones, and thy timber, and thy dust into the midst of the water.

26.13 And I will cause the multitude of thy songs to cease, and the sound of thy harps shall be heard no more.

26.14 And I will make thee a barren rock, a desolate wasteland. thou shalt be no more built. for I YHVH have spoken it, saith YHVH GOD.

26.15 Thus saith YHVH GOD unto Tyre; Shall not the isles tremble at the sound of thy fall, the groaning of the slain, the slaughter within thee?

26.16 And all the princes of the sea shall come down from their thrones, and lay aside their robes, and their broidered garments; they shall put off sackcloth, they shall clothe themselves upon the earth; they shall sit and be astonished for a moment, and be desolate over thee.

26.17 And they shall lament over thee, and say unto thee, How ist thou destroyed from the days of the glorious city, which was strong in the sea, and her inhabitants, which gave their spoil unto all that dwelt therein?

26.18 Now shall they be afraid, shall they not be afraid in the day of thy fall? and the isles that are in the sea shall be afraid at thy coming.

26.19 For thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I will build thee a desolate city, like cities that are not destroyed, when I bring up upon thee the deep, and the flood of many waters.

26.20 And I will bring you down from the pit to the everlasting people, and I will make you dwell in the lower lands, as the swords of the ages, that you may not dwell there, and I will give you a deer in the land of the living.

26.21 I will make you desolate, and you shall not be; and you shall seek, and shall never find again, saith YHVH GOD.

27.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

27.2 And you, son of man, take up a lamentation for the afflicted.

27.3 And thou saidst unto Tyre, I sit at the entrance of the sea, the talebearer of the people unto many isles. Thus saith YHVH GOD; O Tyre, thou hast said, I am the crown of beauty.

27.4 In the heart of the seas are thy borders, thy sons, thy beauty is complete.

27.5 They have built for you cypresses from Mishnah; they have taken all the cedars from Lebanon to make masts for you.

27.6 Oaks from Bashan were made for your oars, and your planks were made of the ivory of the Assyrians, from the isles of the Katim.

27.7 Your sails will be adorned with embroidery from Egypt, and you will be adorned with blue and purple from the isles of Elishah.

27.8 The inhabitants of Sidon and Edom, your wise men, were deceived by you; Tyre was in you, they were your tormentors.

27.9 The elders of Gebal and its wise men were in you, holding your reins; all the ships of the sea and their sailors were in you, to your westward journey.

27.10 Persia, and Lydia, and Put, were in thy army, thy men of war. they hung shield and helmet upon thee; they gave the way.

27.11 The sons of Arod and his sons were on your walls all around, and dwarfs were on your towers. Their banners were hung on your walls all around. They covered your beauty.

27.12 Tarshish was thy merchant, with all manner of riches. silver, iron, tin, and lead, they gave thy spoils.

27.13 The world is full of them, and they have made your feet like the soul of a man, and they have given you vessels of brass.

27.14 From the house of Togarmah they gave your possessions horses, horsemen, and mules.

27.15 The sons of Dedan, your servants, are many islands; your hand has traded in ivory horns, and the Hivites have returned your wages.

27.16 Arameans was your merchant by the multitude of your works, with your purple, and embroidered work, and clay, and Ramoth, and like things, they gave in your inheritance.

27.17 Judah and the land of Israel were your merchants, with wheat, and millet, and honey, and oil, and myrrh, they gave them to you from the west.

27.18 Damascus was your merchant by the multitude of your works, in the abundance of all riches, in white wine and fine wool.

27.19 And Dan and Jonah, being consumed in thy possessions, gave iron to make bows, and reeds were in thy west.

27.20 Dedan, your gossip is in my clothes, look for her chariot.

27.21 Arabia and all the princes of Kedar were your merchants; firstlings, rams, and rams were your merchants.

27.22 The merchants of Sheba and Ramah, they are your merchants, every one by name, and with every precious stone and gold, they have given your inheritance.

27.23 Haran, and Kena, and Eden, a talebearer, who came to Assyria, as the fruit of your talebearer.

27.24 Behold, your servants are in the palaces, in blue thread and embroidery, and in the palaces of the high places, in Ethiopian and cedar cords in your tabernacles.

27.25 The ships of Tarshish shall serve thee from the west. and thou shalt be filled, and shalt be greatly esteemed in the heart of the seas.

27.26 The seas brought you through many waters, the east wind brought you into the heart of the seas.

27.27 Your wealth and your deserts, your oppressors and your oppressors, your oppressors and your oppressors, all your men of war who are in you, and all your company that is in the midst of you, shall fall in the midst of days in the day of your fall.

27.28 At the sound of your cries, the prisons will tremble.

27.29 And all the sailors who handle the oar shall come down from their ships, all the coastlands of the sea shall stand on the land.

27.30 And they shall make their voice heard against you, and cry bitterly, and cast up dust upon their heads, and wallow in the ashes.

27.31 And they shall make baldness for thee, and gird sackcloth, and weep for thee with bitter lamentation,

27.32 And their children shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament for thee, as water is like a stone, as blood is in the midst of the sea.

27.33 When your descendants went forth from the days of your captivity, you smote many nations with your multitude, and you subdued the kings of the earth with your multitude.

27.34 When you were broken by the seas, in the depths of the waters to your west, all your company within you fell.

27.35 All the inhabitants of the isles are desolate over you, and their kings are terrified, their faces are dismayed.

27.36 Trade with the nations that hissed at you; you were a terror, and are no more forever.

28.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

28.2 Son of man, say unto the prince of the sea, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Because thine heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am the seat of God, I dwell in the heart of the seas; and thou art but man, and not God, and hast set thine heart as the dog of God.

28.3 Behold, you are wiser than Daniel, and no mute can be silenced.

28.4 By your wisdom and understanding you have made yourself strong, and have made gold and silver for your treasures.

28.5 By the abundance of your wisdom and your talk you have increased your strength, and your heart is lifted up by your strength.

28.6 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Because thou hast made thine heart a dog of God,

28.7 Therefore, behold, I will bring upon you strangers, the terrible of the nations; and they shall draw their swords upon the beauty of your wisdom, and shall defile your beauty.

28.8 You shall perish, and die a death of destruction in the heart of the seas.

28.9 He said, "I am God before you kill me, but you are a man and not a god, in the hand of your slanderers."

28.10 You shall die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers. for I have spoken it, saith YHVH GOD.

28.11 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

28.12 Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say unto him, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Thou sealest up a counsel, full of wisdom, and a crown of beauty.

28.13 You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone was your covering, a man's work, and a diamond, a beryl, a sardonyx, and a jasper, a sapphire, and an emerald, and gold, the work of your hands. We prepared your work in you, and your holes in you, in the day you were created.

28.14 You were the anointed cherub who covers the tent, and I placed you on the holy mountain of God. You were among the stones of fire, and you walked about.

28.15 You were blameless in your ways from the day you were created until your sin was found in you.

28.16 By the multitude of your backbiting, your heart is filled with anger and you sin, and I will defile you from the mountain of God, and you will perish like a cherub that has been set alight from the midst of the stones of fire.

28.17 Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. I cast you out before kings, and I made you appear before them.

28.18 By the multitude of thy poverty, by the burden of thy lying in wait, thou hast defiled thy sanctuaries. and I will bring forth a fire out of thee, and it shall devour thee, and I will bring thee to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all that see thee.

28.19 All who knew you among the nations are desolate over you; you have become a terror, and you will never be again.

28.20 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

28.21 Son of man, set your face against Sidon and prophesy against it.

28.22 And thou shalt say, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Sidon, and will be glorified in thee. and they shall know that I am YHVH, when I have executed judgments in her, and am sanctified in her.

28.23 And I will send a word into her, and blood in her streets, and the slain shall fall in the midst of her by the sword against her round about. and they shall know that I am YHVH.

28.24 And there shall be no more any more a burning bush, nor a thorn of pain, to the house of Israel, from all that are round about them that hate them. and they shall know that I am YHVH GOD.

28.25 Thus saith YHVH GOD; When I shall gather the house of Israel from the people whither they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, and they shall dwell in their land, which I have given unto my servant Jacob.

28.26 And they shall dwell therein securely, and build houses, and plant vineyards, and shall dwell securely, when I have executed judgments upon all their enemies round about them. and they shall know that I am YHVH their God.

29.1 In the tenth year, in the twelfth day of the month, the word of YHVH came to me, saying,

29.2 Son of man, set thy face against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him, and against all Egypt.

29.3 Speak and say, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great jackal that smote among his people, which said unto me, My people, and I made me.

29.4 And I will put fangs in your cheeks, and will cause the fish of the fangs to stick to your scales, and I will bring you up out of your fangs, and all the fish of the fangs shall stick to your scales.

29.5 And I will leave you in the wilderness, and all the fish of the field shall fall; you shall not be gathered nor gathered together. I will give you to the beasts of the earth, and to the fowls of the heaven, to be meat.

29.6 And all the inhabitants of Egypt shall know that I am YHVH, because they have been a support for the house of Israel.

29.7 You will seize them with your hand and break every shoulder, and when they lean on you, you will break and make all their hips stand erect.

29.8 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I will bring a sword upon thee, and will cut off from thee man and beast.

29.9 And the land of Egypt shall be desolate and waste; and they shall know that I am YHVH. for he said, Be it done unto me, and I will do it.

29.10 Therefore, behold, I am against you, and I will not delay you, but will make the land of Egypt a desolation, a desolation from the tower of Senna even to the border of Ethiopia.

29.11 No foot of man or foot of beast shall pass through it, neither shall it be inhabited forty years.

29.12 And I will make the land of Egypt a desolation in the midst of the countries of the living, and her cities within the cities of the sword. it shall be a desolation forty years. and I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and among the sojourners in the lands.

29.13 For thus saith YHVH GOD; At the end of forty years will I gather Egypt from the people whither she was scattered.

29.14 And I will bring back the captivity of Egypt, and will cause them to return to the land of Pathros, to the land of their captivity; and they shall be there a base kingdom.

29.15 And the kingdoms shall be humbled, and shall no more exalt themselves above the nations, and the lowly shall not be brought low among the nations.

29.16 And the house of Israel shall no more have a refuge for iniquity, when they turn back after them; and they shall know that I am YHVH GOD.

29.17 And it came to pass in the twenty and seventh year, in the first day of the month, the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

29.18 Son of man, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon made his army a great servitude to the oppressor, every head shaved, and every shoulder rubbed bare; and he had no wages, nor did his army have any servitude to the servitude with which he was servitude.

29.19 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I will give the land of Egypt unto Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and he shall take the spoil and the prey thereof, and shall take the prey thereof, and it shall be hire for his war.

29.20 For his work in which he served, I have given him the land of Egypt, which they did for me, saith YHVH GOD.

29.21 In that day will I cause a horn to sprout for the house of Israel, and I will give you the opening of a mouth in the midst of them; and they shall know that I am YHVH.

30.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

30.2 Son of man, prophesy, and say, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Howl, O LORD, for the day

30.3 For the day is near, even the day of YHVH is near, a day of clouds, the time of the nations.

30.4 And the sword came upon Egypt, and there was a great slaughter in Ethiopia, because of the slaughter in Egypt. and they took the millstones, and broke down their foundations.

30.5 Cush, Put, and Lud, and all Arabia, and Chub, and the people of the land of the covenant, shall fall with them by the sword.

30.6 Thus saith YHVH; and the strength of Egypt shall fall, and the pride of Gaza shall come down from the tower of the sun. they shall fall in it by the sword, saith YHVH GOD.

30.7 And they shall breathe in the midst of the countries that are dead, and their cities shall be in the midst of the cities that are destroyed.

30.8 And they shall know that I am YHVH. I have set a fire in Egypt, and all her helpers shall be broken.

30.9 In that day shall angels go forth from before thee to trouble Ethiopia. and there shall be a terror in them, as in the day of Egypt. for, lo, it cometh.

30.10 Thus saith YHVH GOD; I will cause the multitude of Egypt to return into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon.

30.11 He and his people with him, the oppressors of the nations, are brought to destroy the land, and they have drawn their swords upon Egypt, and have filled the land with desolation.

30.12 And I will make the land desolate, and sell the land into the hand of the wicked, and I will make the land full of strangers. I YHVH have spoken it.

30.13 Thus saith YHVH GOD; I will also destroy the idols, and cause the idols to cease out of Neph, and there shall be no more a prince out of the land of Egypt, and I will put fear in the land of Egypt.

30.14 And I will set Peter, and kindle a fire in my loins, and execute judgments in my mouth.

30.15 And I will pour out my wrath upon China, the strength of Egypt, and will cut off the multitude of the righteous.

30.16 And I will set a fire in Egypt, and it shall burn in the wilderness, and in the valleys

30.17 The young men of Aun and Beit shall fall by the sword, and behold, you shall go into captivity.

30.18 And in Tahpanhes the day shall be darkened, in the breaking of the pillars of Egypt, and the glory of Gaza shall be blown upon it, a cloud shall cover it, and her daughters shall go into captivity.

30.19 And I will execute judgments in Egypt; and they shall know that I am YHVH.

30.20 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the first day of the seventh month, that the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

30.21 Son of man, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and, behold, there was no bandage to heal it, no bandage to strengthen it, to seize it with the sword.

30.22 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I am against Pharaoh king of Egypt, and will break his staff, the strong and the broken, and will make the sword fall out of his hand.

30.23 And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and they shall be scattered through the countries.

30.24 And I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and put my sword in his hand, and I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and I will smite the slain before him.

30.25 And I will strengthen the seed of the king of Babylon, and the seed of Pharaoh shall be broken. and they shall know that I am YHVH. for I have put my sword into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall stretch it out against the land of Egypt.

30.26 And I will scatter the Egyptians among the nations, and disperse them through the countries. and they shall know that I am YHVH.

31.1 And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third day of the month, the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

31.2 Son of man, say unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and unto his servants, To whom shall I die in thy greatness?

31.3 Behold, Assyria was a cedar in Lebanon, with beautiful branches, and a shadowy tree, and high and lofty, and his top was among the thickets.

31.4 The waters have made him great, the deep hath lifted him up, her rivers have compassed his vineyard, and she hath sent forth her channels unto all the trees of the field.

31.5 Therefore his stature was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his branches were multiplied, and his beauty was prolonged by the multitude of waters that he sent forth.

31.6 All the birds of the air made their nests in its branches, and under its branches all the beasts of the field gave birth, and under its shade all many nations dwelt.

31.7 And he increased in greatness with the length of his branches. for his roots were by many waters.

31.8 The cedars in the garden of God could not equal him, the cypresses could not compare with his branches, and the arbours could not compare with his splendor. No tree in the garden of God could compare with him in beauty.

31.9 I made it beautiful in the multitude of its branches, so that all the trees of Eden, which are in the garden of God, envied it.

31.10 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Because thou art exalted in height, and settest thy top among the thickets, and lifted up thy heart in the height of thine heart,

31.11 And I will deliver him into the hand of the ram of the nations, and he shall do to him according to his wickedness, and thou shalt drive him out.

31.12 And strangers, the oppressors of the nations, have cut it down, and have cast it upon the mountains, and in all the valleys. its branches have fallen, and its branches are broken in all the paths of the land. and all the peoples of the earth have come down under its shadow, and have cast it away.

31.13 All the birds of the air will dwell on its ruins, and all the beasts of the field will be in its ruins.

31.14 That none of the trees of the water should exalt themselves in their height, neither should they set their top among the thickets, neither should any two waters stand up against them. for they are all delivered to die in the lower parts of the earth, among men, with them that go down to the pit.

31.15 Thus saith YHVH GOD; In the day that he shall go down into the pit, I will cause the deep to be covered over him, and I will restrain the rivers thereof, and the great waters shall be restrained. and I will cause Lebanon to wither over him, and all the trees of the field shall wither over him.

31.16 At the sound of his fall I will shake the nations, when I will bring down with him those who go down to the pit, and they will be comforted in the lower land, all the choice trees of Eden and the best of Lebanon, all the rivers of waters.

31.17 They also went down with him to the slain of the sword, and his seed dwelt in his shadow among the nations.

31.18 To whom have you been likened in glory and greatness among the trees of Eden? You have brought down the trees of Eden to the nether world, among the foreskins, you shall lay down those slain by the sword, even Pharaoh and all his number, says YHVH GOD.

32.1 And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first day of the month, that the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

32.2 Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou art a tyrant of the nations, and thou hast been a garment in the seas, and hast trodden the rivers, and hast trodden the waters with thy feet, and hast trodden their rivers.

32.3 Thus saith YHVH GOD; I will spread my net upon thee in the company of many people, and thou shalt be taken up in my captivity.

32.4 And I will leave thee upon the earth, and cast thee upon the face of the field; and I will cause all the fowls of the heaven to dwell upon thee, and I will curse the beasts of all the earth from thee.

32.5 And I will lay thy flesh upon the mountains, and fill the valleys of thy heights.

32.6 And I will water the land of Zephath with your blood, even to the mountains, and the horizons shall be filled with you.

32.7 And I will cover the heavens with thy darkness, and make their stars dark. I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.

32.8 All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and will set darkness upon thy land, saith YHVH GOD.

32.9 And I will make the hearts of many peoples angry, when I bring the blessing of the nations upon lands that you have not known.

32.10 And I will bring many nations against you, and their kings shall be in a rage against you, with my sword flying before them; and they shall be afraid every man for a moment in the day of your fall.

32.11 For thus saith YHVH GOD; The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee.

32.12 With the swords of the mighty I will overthrow all the oppressors of the nations, and they will plunder the glory of Egypt, and all its wealth will be destroyed.

32.13 And I will destroy all her beasts upon many waters. neither shall the foot of man tread any more, nor the hoof of beasts tread any more.

32.14 Then will I make their waters and their rivers like oil, saith YHVH GOD.

32.15 I will make the land of Egypt a desolation, and the land shall be filled with despair, when I strike all who dwell therein. and they shall know that I am YHVH.

32.16 It is a lamentation and a lamentation for her. the daughters of the nations shall lament her for Egypt, and all that is numbered shall lament her for her, saith YHVH GOD.

32.17 And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the fifteenth day of the month, that the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

32.18 The son of man will rejoice over the multitude of Egypt, and will bring it down, and the daughters of the nations, and will bring down to the nether world them that go down to the pit.

32.19 From whom did Naamath descend and lie down with the uncircumcised?

32.20 They shall fall among the slain of the sword. the sword shall be given, they shall draw it away, and all her substance.

32.21 The mighty ones will speak to him from Sheol, his helpers will descend, the uncircumcised will lie, slain by the sword.

32.22 Assyria and all her company are around her graves, all of them slain, fallen by the sword.

32.23 Whose graves they have laid in the back of a pit, and her company is round about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, whom the Hittites have laid in the land of the living.

32.24 The name of Elam, and all that are numbered around her graves, are all of them slain, fallen by the sword, which went down uncircumcised to the lower parts of the earth, which laid their foundation in the land of the living, and their reproach was upon them that go down to the pit.

32.25 They have made her lie in the midst of the slain, all her graves are uncircumcised, slain by the sword. for he hath laid their shame in the land of the living, and they have borne their reproach with them that go down to the pit. he hath laid them in the midst of the slain.

32.26 There the earth is stretched out, and all that is numbered around it, its graves are all uncircumcised, slain by the sword, because they have given their life in the land of the living.

32.27 And they shall not lie with the mighty men, fallen by the sword, who went down to Sheol with their weapons of war, and laid their swords under their heads, and their iniquity was upon their bones. for thou hast smitten the mighty in the land of the living.

32.28 And you will break and lie down among the uncircumcised, those slain by the sword.

32.29 There is Edom, her kings and all her princes, who by their might gave up those slain by the sword; they shall lie with the uncircumcised, and with those who go down to the pit.

32.30 There are all the princes of the north, and all the south, which have brought down the slain in their violence, they are ashamed of their might, and they have laid the uncircumcised with the slain of the sword, and have borne their shame with them that go down to the pit.

32.31 Pharaoh shall see them, and shall be comforted over all that are numbered, slain by the sword of Pharaoh, and over all his army, saith YHVH GOD.

32.32 For I have given his portion in the land of the living, and he shall lie among the uncircumcised, those slain by the sword of Pharaoh, and all that are numbered, saith YHVH GOD.

33.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

33.2 Son of man, speak unto the children of thy people, and say unto them, O land, I will bring a sword upon it. and the people of the land shall take a man of their own, and give him to them to watch.

33.3 And he saw the sword coming upon the land, and blew the trumpet, and warned the people.

33.4 And he that heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning, let the sword come and take him away. his blood shall be upon his own head.

33.5 He that heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not heed, his blood shall be upon him. but he that taketh heed shall escape.

33.6 And the flood, when he saw the sword coming, blew not the trumpet, and the people took not heed, and the sword came, and took away their soul. he was taken away in his iniquity, and his blood will I require at the hand of the flood.

33.7 And you, son of man, I have given you to the house of Israel, and you shall hear a word from my mouth, and warn them from me.

33.8 If you say to the wicked, "The wicked shall surely die," and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, the wicked shall die in his iniquity, and I will require his blood at your hand.

33.9 And if you warn the wicked from his way, to turn from it, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.

33.10 And thou, son of man, say unto the house of Israel, Thus have ye said, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we are consumed in them; and how shall we live?

33.11 He said to them, As I live, saith YHVH GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way, and live, turn from your evil ways. for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

33.12 And thou, son of man, say unto the children of thy people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver us in the day of his transgression. neither shall the wickedness of the wicked fall therein, in the day that he turneth from his wickedness. neither shall the righteous live in it in the day that he sinneth.

33.13 When I say to the righteous, He shall surely live; but he trusts in his righteousness and commits iniquity, none of his righteousness shall be remembered; for in the iniquity that he has committed he shall die.

33.14 And when I say to the wicked, "You shall surely die," he shall turn from his sin and do what is just and right.

33.15 It is a pity that the wicked will return a robbery; he will repay according to the statutes of life; he who walks not to do wrong will live, he will not die.

33.16 All his sins that he hath sinned shall not be remembered against him. he hath done judgment and righteousness; he shall surely live.

33.17 And they said, The way of thy people is not possible for my Lord, but their way is not possible for them.

33.18 When a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and dies in them,

33.19 But when the wicked turneth from his wickedness, and doeth judgment and righteousness, he shall live.

33.20 And ye have said, The way of YHVH is not possible for any man after his ways. I will judge you, O house of Israel.

33.21 And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the tenth month, on the fifth day of the month, that one that had escaped came to me from Jerusalem, saying, The city is smitten.

33.22 And the hand of YHVH was upon me in the evening, before the fugitive came, and he opened my mouth; until he came unto me in the morning, and he opened my mouth, and I was no more dumb.

33.23 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

33.24 Son of man, those who dwell in the land of Israel say, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land, and we are many; the land was given to us for an inheritance.

33.25 Therefore say unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Ye shall eat with the blood, and your eyes shall look unto your idols, and ye shall shed blood, and ye shall inherit the land.

33.26 You stood on your swords, you committed abomination, and each one defiled his neighbor's wife, and you possessed the land.

33.27 Thus shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Surely, as I live, they that are by the sword shall fall by the sword; and I have given them that are in the field to the beasts to be devoured; and they that are in the strongholds and in the caves shall die of a word.

33.28 And I will make the land a desolation and a waste. and the glory of Gaza shall be destroyed, and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, and no one shall pass through.

33.29 And they shall know that I am YHVH, that I have made the land desolate and desolate, because of all their abominations which they have committed.

33.30 And you, son of man, are talking to your people by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and you are talking to each other, saying, "Come, please, and hear what is the word that comes from YHVH."

33.31 And they shall come unto thee as a people cometh, and shall sit before thee, my people, and shall hear thy words, but will not do them; but with a stumblingblock in their mouths they do after me in the bitterness of their hearts.

33.32 And you are to them like a harp with a beautiful voice and a beautiful instrument, and they hear your words and do them.

33.33 And when it came, behold, it came, and they knew that a prophet had been among them.

34.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

34.2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy, and say unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Woe unto the shepherds of Israel that have fed them! Did not the shepherds feed the flock?

34.3 You will eat milk and wear wool, you will sacrifice the flock, but you will not feed it.

34.4 You have not strengthened the inheritance, and you have not healed the sick, and you have not bound up the broken, and you have not brought back the rejected, and you have not sought the lost, and in strength you have brought them down, and in your poverty.

34.5 And they shall be scattered without harm, and shall be food for all the beasts of the field, and they shall be scattered.

34.6 My flock will be scattered throughout all the mountains, and upon every high hill; and my flock will be scattered over all the face of the earth, and there will be no one seeking or seeking.

34.7 Therefore the wicked heard the word of YHVH.

34.8 As I live, saith YHVH GOD, if it were not that my flock were a prey, and my flock became meat for all the beasts of the field, where there was no pestilence, and my shepherds sought not my flock, and the shepherds spoiled them, and my flock they fed not.

34.9 Therefore the wicked heard the word of YHVH

34.10 Thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I am against the shepherds, and will require my sheep at their hand. and I will cause the shepherds to rest from their pastures, and the shepherds shall feed them no more. and I will deliver my sheep from their mouth, and they shall not be meat for them.

34.11 For thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I will seek my flock and my herds.

34.12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day when he is among his flock, so will I seek out my flock, and will deliver them out of all the places where they are scattered in the day of clouds and thick darkness.

34.13 And I will bring them out from the peoples, and gather them out of the countries, and bring them into their own land, and will feed them upon the mountains of Israel, in the valleys, and in all the habitations of the land.

34.14 I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the mountains of the height of Israel shall be a grove. there shall they lie down in a good pasture, and in fat pastures shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel.

34.15 I will feed my sheep, and I will cause them to lie down, saith YHVH GOD.

34.16 I will seek the lost, and bring back the driven away, and bind up the broken, and strengthen the sick, and destroy the fat and the strong, and I will destroy them with judgment.

34.17 And I will give my flock, thus saith YHVH GOD; behold, I judge between lamb and lamb, and between rams and he-goats.

34.18 You will feed a few of you on the good pasture, and you will trample down the rest of your pastures with your feet, and you will drink the water of the deep, and you will trample down the rest with your feet.

34.19 And my sheep shall be trodden under your feet, and your feet shall be peeed in the mire.

34.20 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD unto them, Behold, I will judge between the fat lamb and the lean lamb.

34.21 For with side and shoulder you shall thrust, and with your horns you shall thrust through all the land, until your destruction be done abroad.

34.22 And I will watch over my flock, and they shall be no more a prey. and I will judge between lamb and lamb.

34.23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall shepherd them, even my servant David. he shall feed them, and he shall be to them a shepherd.

34.24 And I, YHVH, will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them. I, YHVH, have spoken it.

34.25 And I made a covenant of peace with them, and caused the evil beasts to cease out of the land. and they dwelt safely in the wilderness, and slept in the forests.

34.26 And I will make them and the surrounding hills a blessing, and I will cause the rain to come down in its season, showers of blessing.

34.27 And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the land shall yield her increase. and they shall be safe in their land. and they shall know that I am YHVH, when I break the bars of their yoke, and deliver them out of the hand of them that serve them.

34.28 And they shall no more be a prey to the nations, neither shall the beast of the earth devour them. but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.

34.29 And I will establish for them a place of refuge, and they shall no more be hungry in the land, neither shall they bear the reproach of the nations any more.

34.30 And they shall know that I am YHVH their God, and that they are my people, the house of Israel, saith YHVH GOD.

34.31 And you shall be my flock, the flock of my pasture, and I will feed you, and I will be your God, says YHVH GOD.

35.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

35.2 Son of man, set your face toward Mount Seir and prophesy against it.

35.3 And thou shalt say unto him, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Mount Seir, and will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will make thee desolate and desolate.

35.4 I will lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate; and you shall know that I am YHVH.

35.5 For you have had an everlasting enmity, and you have provoked the children of Israel with the sword in the time of their wrath, in the time of their final iniquity.

35.6 Therefore as I live, saith YHVH GOD, surely I will prepare thee for blood, and blood shall pursue thee. if it be not blood, which thou hatest, and blood shall pursue thee.

35.7 And I will make Mount Seir a desolation and a waste, and will cut off from it him that passeth by, and him that returneth.

35.8 And I will fill the mountains with their hollows, your hills and your valleys, and all your streams with the slain of the sword.

35.9 I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your glory shall not be inhabited. and you shall know that I am YHVH.

35.10 For I said unto thee, The two nations and the two countries shall be mine, and thou shalt inherit them. and YHVH was there.

35.11 Therefore as I live, saith YHVH GOD, I will surely do according to thine anger, and according to thine envy, which thou hast done in hating them; and I will be known in them, when I have judged thee.

35.12 And you shall know that I am YHVH, and have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They have given us a desolation to devour.

35.13 And ye magnify yourselves against me with your mouth, and bring your words against me. I have heard.

35.14 Thus saith YHVH GOD; While the whole land rejoiceth, I will make thee a desolation.

35.15 As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I make you desolate. Mount Seir shall be desolate, and all Edom shall be desolate. and they shall know that I am YHVH.

36.1 And you, son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israel, and say, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of YHVH.

36.2 Thus saith YHVH GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, The fire is gone, and everlasting death is our inheritance.

36.3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus says YHVH GOD, Who has called you by name, and has sought you from all sides, that you may be an inheritance to the remnant of the nations, and that you may rise up in the speech of another tongue and in the speech of another people.

36.4 Therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of YHVH GOD. Thus says YHVH GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the ravines, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the forsaken cities, which have become a desolation and a hissing to the remnant of the nations that are round about.

36.5 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Is it not in the fire of my jealousy that I have spoken against the remnant of the nations, and against Edom the captive, which gave my land to them for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with abhorrence of soul, to cast it out to be a spoil?

36.6 Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and say to the mountains, and to the hills, to the brooks, and to the valleys, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury. for ye have borne the reproach of the heathen.

36.7 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, if the heathen which are round about you shall not bear your iniquity.

36.8 And you, O mountains of Israel, shall shoot forth your branches, and bear your fruit unto the people of Israel. for they are near to come.

36.9 For behold, I am toward you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be served and sown.

36.10 And I will multiply men upon you, even the whole house of Israel; and the cities shall be taken, and the waste places shall be built.

36.11 And I will multiply upon you man and beast, and they shall increase and be fruitful, and I will restore you as at your former times, and I will do better than before; and you shall know that I am YHVH.

36.12 And I will bring upon you a man, even my people Israel, and he shall uproot you, and you shall be their inheritance, and you shall no longer add to their wisdom.

36.13 Thus saith YHVH GOD; Because they say unto you, Thou hast devoured man with me, and hast been the destroyer of thy nations.

36.14 Therefore you shall no more devour man, neither shall your nation stumble any more, saith YHVH GOD.

36.15 And I will not hear thee any more the reproach of the heathen, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more. neither shalt thou cause thy nation to stumble any more, saith YHVH GOD.

36.16 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

36.17 Son of man, the house of Israel dwell in their own land, and have defiled it by their way and by their doings. as the uncleanness of a prostitute was their way before me.

36.18 And I will pour out my wrath upon them for the blood which they have shed upon the land, and for the defilement of it with their idols.

36.19 And I will scatter them among the nations, and they shall wander through the lands, according to their ways and according to their doings, which I will judge.

36.20 And he shall come unto the heathen that are come thither, and have profaned my holy name, saying unto them, These are the people of YHVH, and they are gone forth out of his land.

36.21 And I will have mercy on my holy name, which the house of Israel hath profaned among the heathen that are come thither.

36.22 Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says YHVH GOD. It is not for your sakes, O house of Israel, that I do this, but for my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone.

36.23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the nations, which ye have profaned among them. and the nations shall know that I am YHVH, saith YHVH GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

36.24 And I will take you from the nations, and gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.

36.25 And I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean from all your filthiness, and from all your uncleannesses will I cleanse you.

36.26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit will I put within you. and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

36.27 And I will put my spirit within you, and I will do my statutes, and ye shall walk in them, and keep my judgments, and do them.

36.28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave unto your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

36.29 And I will save you from all your uncleannesses, and I will call for the grain, and multiply it, and will give you no famine.

36.30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye may no more bear the reproach of famine among the heathen.

36.31 And you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were not good, and you will be struck with the face of your iniquities and your abominations.

36.32 Not for your sakes do I do this, saith YHVH GOD; be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.

36.33 Thus saith YHVH GOD; In the day that I shall cleanse you from all your iniquities, and I shall cause the cities to be inhabited, and the waste places shall be built.

36.34 And the land that is inhabited shall be a desolation in the sight of all that pass by.

36.35 And they said, The land of this life was like the garden of Eden, and the cities that were destroyed and desolate and desolate sat in desolate places.

36.36 And the nations that are left around you shall know that I am YHVH, who build the waste places, who plant the soul. I am YHVH, who have spoken, and I have done it.

36.37 Thus saith YHVH GOD; Yet will I require it of the house of Israel, to make them as numerous as the flock of men.

36.38 Like the flock of the holy ones, like the flock of Jerusalem in her appointed times, so the waste cities will be full of flocks of men, and they will know that I am YHVH.

37.1 The hand of YHVH was upon me, and he brought me out by the spirit of YHVH, and set me down in the midst of the valley, and it was full of bones.

37.2 And he caused me to pass over them round about, and, behold, they were very many upon the face of the valley, and, behold, they were very dry.

37.3 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I said, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.

37.4 And he said unto me, Prophesy over these bones, and say unto them, The dry bones have heard the word of YHVH.

37.5 Thus saith YHVH GOD unto these bones, Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live.

37.6 And I will lay goats upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and will cover you with skin, and will put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am YHVH.

37.7 And I prophesied as I was commanded, and there was a voice as I prophesied, and, behold, a noise, and the bones came near, bone to its bone.

37.8 And I looked, and, behold, goats were upon them, and flesh came up upon them, and skin covered them above, and there was no breath in them.

37.9 And he said unto me, Prophesy unto the spirit, prophesy, son of man, and say unto the spirit, Thus saith YHVH GOD from the four winds, that cometh forth the spirit, and cause these slain to live.

37.10 And I prophesied as I was commanded, and the spirit came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceeding great army.

37.11 And he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel, behold, they say, Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are cut off from ourselves.

37.12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, Thus says YHVH GOD. Behold, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, my people, and bring you into the land of Israel.

37.13 And you shall know that I am YHVH, when I open your graves, and bring you up out of your graves with my people.

37.14 And I will put my spirit in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land; and you shall know that I am YHVH; I have spoken it, and I will do it, saith YHVH.

37.15 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

37.16 And thou, son of man, take thee one stick, and write upon it for Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions. and take another stick, and write upon it for Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions.

37.17 And thou shalt bring them near one to another into one stick, and they shall be one in thine hand.

37.18 And when your people say to you, “Will you not tell us what these are to you?”

37.19 Say unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them upon the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand.

37.20 And the sticks which thou shalt write upon with thine hand shall be in their sight.

37.21 And speak unto them, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they are gone, and will gather them from every side, and bring them into their own land.

37.22 And I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all; and they shall not be two nations any more, neither shall they be divided any more into two kingdoms any more.

37.23 And they shall no more defile themselves with their idols, nor with their abominations, nor with all their transgressions. but I will save them out of all their dwellings, wherein they have sinned, and I will cleanse them. and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.

37.24 And my servant David shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd. and they shall walk in my judgments, and keep my statutes, and do them.

37.25 And they shall dwell in the land that I gave to Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, they, and their children, and their children's children for ever. and David my servant shall be their prince for ever.

37.26 And I will make a covenant of peace with them, an everlasting covenant. and they shall be with me. and I will multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for ever.

37.27 And my tabernacle shall be with them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

37.28 And the nations shall know that I am YHVH that sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for ever.

38.1 And the word of YHVH came unto me, saying,

38.2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of the chief princes of Meshech and Tebal, and prophesy against him.

38.3 And thou shalt say, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the prince of the chief princes of Meshech and Tebal.

38.4 And I will make you a fool, and I will put thorns in your cheeks, and I will bring you out, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with a great company, with bucklers and shields, all of them girded with swords.

38.5 Persia, Cush, and Put, all of them are shields and helmets.

38.6 Gamar and all its branches, the house of Togarmah, the back of the north, and all its branches, many peoples with you.

38.7 Prepare, prepare yourself, you and all your company that are gathered against you, and be a guard for them.

38.8 For many days shalt thou be established. in the latter years shalt thou come unto a land that is desolate from the sword, that gathereth together many peoples upon the mountains of Israel, which were a perpetual desolation. and she shall be brought forth out of the peoples, and shall dwell safely, all of them.

38.9 And you shall ascend, and come as a cloud to cover the land, you and all your wings, and many peoples shall be with you.

38.10 Thus saith YHVH GOD; And it shall come to pass in that day, that words shall come into thine heart, and thou shalt think an evil thought.

38.11 And you said, I will go up against the land of Perez; I will come to the quiet, and dwell safely; all of them dwell without walls or bars, and they have no doors.

38.12 To the spoil of the prey, and to the plunder of the plunder, to turn your hand against the swords that blow, and against a people that gathers nations, to make a prey and a prey, to dwell in the midst of the earth.

38.13 Sheba and Dedan, the merchants of Tarshish and all her villages, shall say to you, "You have come to plunder, to plunder; you have gathered your people together to carry silver and gold, to take cattle and goods for a great spoil."

38.14 Therefore prophesy, son of man, and say to Gog, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Shall not my people Israel in that day, in the sabbath, know?

38.15 And you shall come from your place, from the north parts, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army.

38.16 And you will come up against my people Israel like a cloud to cover the land. In the latter days you will be brought upon my land, so that the nations may know me, when I sanctify you in their sight, Gog.

38.17 Thus saith YHVH GOD; Art thou he of whom I spake in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days, that I would bring thee upon them?

38.18 And it shall come to pass in that day, when Gog shall come upon the land of Israel, saith YHVH GOD, that my wrath shall come up in my nostrils.

38.19 And in my jealousy I have spoken with fire, saying, If not, in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel.

38.20 And the fish of the sea, and the fowl of the air, and the beasts of the field, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall tremble at their presence. and the mountains shall be destroyed, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.

38.21 And I will call for a sword against all the mountains, saith YHVH GOD. every man's sword shall be against his brother.

38.22 And I will enter into judgment with him with words and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his wings, and upon the many peoples that are with him, pouring rain, and hailstones, fire and brimstone.

38.23 And I will magnify myself, and sanctify myself, and make myself known in the sight of many nations; and they shall know that I am YHVH.

39.1 And you, son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus says YHVH GOD. Behold, I am against you, Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tebal.

39.2 And I will turn thee about, and I will carry thee, and I will bring thee up from the sides of the north, and I will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel.

39.3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will smite thy head out of thy right hand.

39.4 Upon the mountains of Israel you shall fall, you and all your flocks and the peoples who are with you, to the eagle, to the bird of every wing, and to the beasts of the field I have given you to be food.

39.5 You will fall on the open field, for I have spoken, declares YHVH GOD.

39.6 And I will send a fire upon Magog, and upon them that dwell in the isles, that they may know that I am YHVH.

39.7 And I will make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel, and I will no more profane my holy name. and the heathen shall know that I am YHVH, the Holy One in Israel.

39.8 Behold, it is come, and it shall be done, saith YHVH GOD; this is the day of which I have spoken.

39.9 And the inhabitants of the cities of Israel went out, and burned them, and set them on fire with weapons, and with shields, and with bucklers, with bows, and with arrows, and with staves, and with spears, and burned them with fire seven years.

39.10 They shall not take wood out of the field, nor cut down any out of the forests. for they shall kindle fire with the sword, and take their spoil, and take the spoil of them, saith YHVH GOD.

39.11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give to Gog a place of burial in Israel, the valley of the Hebrews, before the sea. and it shall be a barrier to the Hebrews. and there shall they bury Gog and all the multitude, and they shall call it the valley of the multitude of Gog.

39.12 And the house of Israel shall be exalted, that they may cleanse the land seven months.

39.13 And all the people of the land shall bury them, and it shall be a day of mourning unto them, saith YHVH GOD.

39.14 And the people of Tamid shall separate the Hebrews in the land, burying the Hebrews, and those who remain on the face of the land, for purification, at the end of seven months they shall search.

39.15 And the Hebrews passed through the land, and saw the bones of a man, and built Zion with him, until they buried him with them that bury him in the valley of Gog's multitude.

39.16 And also the name of the city of Hamona, and the land was purified.

39.17 And you, son of man, thus says YHVH GOD. Gather yourselves together, and come, gather yourselves together on every side to my sacrifice, which I sacrifice for you, a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel; and you shall eat flesh and drink blood.

39.18 You will eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, rams and young bulls, all of them with the gnashing of teeth.

39.19 And ye shall eat milk to the full, and drink blood to the drunken, at my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.

39.20 And ye shall swear by me the horse, and the chariot of the mighty, and every man of war, saith YHVH GOD.

39.21 And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgments which I have executed, and my hand which I have laid upon them.

39.22 And the house of Israel shall know that I am YHVH their God from that day forward.

39.23 And the heathen shall know that I have cast out the house of Israel for their iniquity, because they have transgressed against me. and I will hide my face from them, and give them into the hand of their oppressors; and they shall all fall by the sword.

39.24 According to their uncleanness, and according to their transgressions, so have I dealt with them, and hid my face from them.

39.25 Therefore thus saith YHVH GOD; Now will I bring again the house of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name.

39.26 And they shall forget their word, and all their transgressions which they have committed against me, when they shall dwell safely in their land, and none shall make them afraid.

39.27 When I brought them out from the peoples, and gathered them out of the lands of their enemies, and was sanctified in them in the sight of many nations,

39.28 And they shall know that I am YHVH their God, when I have scattered them among the heathen, and have gathered them into their own land, and have left them no more there.

39.29 And I will no more hide my face from them, which I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith YHVH GOD.

40.1 In the twenty-fifth year of our exile, in the first day of the year, in the tenth month, in the fourteenth year after the city was smitten, on that very day the hand of YHVH was upon me, and he brought me there.

40.2 In visions of God he brought me to the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain, and upon it was as it were a city built in the south.

40.3 And he brought me thither, and, behold, a man whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a flaxen cord in his hand, and a measuring reed. and he stood in the gate.

40.4 And the man said unto me, Son of man, see with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thine heart upon all that I shall shew thee. for that I might shew thee, thou art brought hither. declare all that thou seest unto the house of Israel.

40.5 And behold, there was a wall outside the house all around, and in the man's hand was a measuring reed, six cubits by the reed. and he stretched out his hand, and measured the breadth of the building, one reed, and the height, one reed.

40.6 And he came to the gate that looked toward the east, and went up by its steps, and measured the threshold of the gate, one reed broad, and the threshold, one reed broad.

40.7 And the chamber was one reed long, and one reed broad, and between the chambers were five cubits. and the threshold of the gate by the porch of the gate of the house was one reed.

40.8 And he measured the threshold of the gate from the house, one reed.

40.9 And he measured the threshold of the gate, eight cubits; and the threshold of the gate of the house, two cubits.

40.10 And the chambers of the gate toward the east were three cubits and three cubits. one cubit for each cubit, and one cubit for each cubit.

40.11 And he measured the breadth of the entrance of the gate, ten cubits; the length of the gate, thirteen cubits.

40.12 And the border before the chambers was one cubit, and the border one cubit from side to side. and the chamber was six cubits from side to side, and six cubits from side to side.

40.13 And he measured the gate from the roof of the chamber to the roof thereof, twenty and five cubits broad, door against door.

40.14 And he made the rams of sixty cubits, and to the ram of the court the gate round about.

40.15 And before the gate were posts, and before the posts of the inner gate, fifty cubits.

40.16 And there were closed windows to the chambers, and to the inner chambers, to the gate round about, and to the eaves, and to the windows round about within, and to the palm tree.

40.17 And he brought me into the outer court, and, behold, chambers and a pavement were made for the court round about. thirty chambers were made for the pavement.

40.18 And the floor to the shoulder of the gates, opposite the length of the gates, the lower floor

40.19 And he measured the breadth from before the lower gate before the inner court without, an hundred cubits eastward and northward.

40.20 And the gate that faced toward the north to the outer court he measured its length and its width.

40.21 And the gate was three cubits high, and the gate three cubits high; and the gate was according to the measure of the first gate, fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.

40.22 And its windows, and its thresholds, and its thresholds, shall be according to the measure of the gate whose face is toward the east. and they shall ascend by seven steps, and they shall ascend before them.

40.23 And there was a gate for the inner court over against the gate toward the north and toward the east, and he measured from gate to gate a hundred cubits.

40.24 And he brought me by the way of the south, and, behold, a gate by the way of the south. and the measures thereof were according to these measures.

40.25 And there were windows to it and to the pillars round about, like these windows, fifty cubits long, and five and twenty cubits broad.

40.26 And his seven ascents were before him, and he had palm trees, one on each side, and one on each side.

40.27 And there was a gate for the inner court toward the south. and he measured from gate to gate toward the south an hundred cubits.

40.28 Then he brought me into the inner court by the south gate, and measured the south gate according to these measures.

40.29 And the pillars and the pillars thereof were according to these measures. and there were windows to them and to the pillars round about. the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth twenty-five cubits.

40.30 And there were pillars all around, five and twenty cubits long, and five cubits broad.

40.31 And they had pillars to the walled court, and palm trees to them, and eight steps to it.

40.32 Then he brought me into the inner court toward the east, and measured the gate according to these measures.

40.33 And the pillars, and the arches, and the arches thereof, were according to the measures of these. and there were windows in them and in their arches round about. the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

40.34 And there were pillars for the outer court, and palm trees for the outer court, and palm trees for the outer court, and eight steps above it.

40.35 And he brought me to the north gate, and measured it according to these measures.

40.36 The arches thereof were of gold and silver, and windows thereof round about. the length thereof was fifty cubits, and the breadth thereof five and twenty cubits.

40.37 And as for the outer court, and the palm trees, which were of the same size, and eight cubits high,

40.38 And the tabernacle and the opening of the gates with the rams, where they shall bring forth the fruit.

40.39 And in the gate of the gate two days of the year, and two days of the year, to slaughter there the burnt offering, and the sin offering, and the guilt offering.

40.40 And to the shoulder without the ascent of the entrance of the north gate, two cubits, and to the other shoulder which is by the threshold of the gate, two cubits.

40.41 Four of the chambers shall be on this side, and four of the chambers shall be on that side by the gate. eight chambers shall they slaughter.

40.42 And four tables for the burnt offering of hewn stones, a cubit and a half long, and a cubit and a half wide, and a cubit high. and they shall lay thereon the instruments wherewith they shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice.

40.43 And the lips of one man were ready in the house round about, and to the places where the meat of the sacrifice was sent.

40.44 And outside the inner gate were the chambers of the ministers in the inner court, which were at the side of the north gate, and their faces toward the south, one at the side of the east gate, facing the way of the cistern.

40.45 And he spake unto me, saying, This is the chamber which looketh toward the south, for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the house.

40.46 And the chamber that looked toward the north was for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar. these were the sons of Zadok, which of the sons of Levi drew near unto YHVH to minister unto him.

40.47 And he measured the court, a hundred cubits long, and a hundred cubits broad, square. and the altar was before the house.

40.48 And he built the house of Elam, and measured Elam, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side. and the breadth of the gate was three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.

40.49 The length of the altar was twenty cubits, and the breadth ten cubits. and the steps that went up to it stood by the rams, one on this side and one on that side.

41.1 And he brought me into the temple, and measured the rams, six cubits broad from the mouth, and six cubits broad from the mouth, the breadth of the tabernacle.

41.2 And the breadth of the entrance was ten cubits, and the shoulders of the entrance were five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side. and he measured the length thereof forty cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.

41.3 And he came in, and measured the ram of the entrance, two cubits, and the entrance, six cubits, and the breadth of the entrance, seven cubits.

41.4 And he measured the length thereof, twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof, twenty cubits, before the face of the temple. and he said unto me, This is the holy of holies.

41.5 And the wall of the house measured six cubits, and the breadth of the side four cubits round about the house round about.

41.6 And the ribs shall be side to side three times thirty times, and shall come into the wall of the house, to the ribs round about, that they may be held in, and they shall not be held in the wall of the house.

41.7 And it was broad, and turned upward toward the sides, for the house turned upward toward the sides all around the house, so that the house was broad upward toward the house, and so the lower part went up above the upper part toward the middle.

41.8 And I saw a ridge of the house round about, from the foundation of the ribs, six cubits high,

41.9 The width of the wall that was on the side outside was five cubits, and that which was on the side of the house was five cubits.

41.10 And between the chambers was a breadth of twenty cubits round about the house round about.

41.11 And the opening of the side of the sanctuary was one opening toward the north, and one opening toward the south. and the breadth of the place of the sanctuary was five cubits round about.

41.12 And the building that was before the court, by the way of the sea, was seventy cubits broad, and the wall of the building was five cubits broad all around, and ninety cubits long.

41.13 And he measured the house, a hundred cubits long, and the porch, and the buildings, and the walls thereof, a hundred cubits long.

41.14 And the breadth of the face of the house, and the breadth of the front, was a hundred cubits.

41.15 And he measured the length of the building to the face of the court that was at the back, and the atokiah, from one end to another, a hundred cubits, and the inner sanctuary and the courtyards.

41.16 The thresholds and the windows, the seals, and the thresholds round about, against the threshold, which was covered with wood round about, and the earth unto the thresholds, and the thresholds covered.

41.17 Above the entrance, to the inner house and outside, and to all the wall around inside and outside, measures

41.18 And it was made of cherubim and palm trees, with a palm tree between cherub and cherub, and two faces to a cherub.

41.19 And the face of a man toward the palm tree is turned, and the face of a kefir toward the palm tree is turned, and the whole house is made round about.

41.20 From the ground to above the doorway were cherubim and palm trees made, and the wall of the temple

41.21 The temple has a four-sided mezuzah, and the face of the sanctuary is like a mirror.

41.22 The altar was of wood, three cubits high, and two cubits long; and the ledges thereof were of wood, and the ledges thereof were of wood. And he said unto me, This is the table that is before YHVH.

41.23 And two doors for the temple and for the sanctuary

41.24 And two doors for the doors, two turned doors, two for one door, and two doors for the other.

41.25 And he made for them on the doors of the temple cherubim and palm trees, as were made on the walls, and woodwork on the face of the court without.

41.26 And the windows were sealed, and the palm trees were turned and turned to the shoulders of the porch, and to the sides of the house, and to the thick walls.

42.1 And he brought me out into the outer court, the way toward the north. and he brought me into the chamber that was over against the court, and that was over against the building toward the north.

42.2 The length of the north gate was a hundred cubits, and the breadth fifty cubits.

42.3 Against the twenty that were for the inner court, and against the floor that was for the outer court, ledge against ledge in thirty places.

42.4 And before the chambers was a passage ten cubits wide toward the inner chamber, one cubit wide, and their doors toward the north.

42.5 And the upper chambers are short, that they may enjoy the pleasures of marriage and the planning of building.

42.6 For there are three chambers, and they have no pillars like the pillars of the courts. therefore we shall be chosen from the lower ones, and from the foundations of the earth.

42.7 And the wall that was outside before the chambers, by the way of the separate court, before the chambers, was fifty cubits long.

42.8 For the length of the chambers that were toward the separate court was fifty cubits, and behold, before the temple was an hundred cubits.

42.9 And under it were the chambers of these, the entrance toward the east, as they came in from the outer court.

42.10 In the breadth of the wall of the court toward the east, toward the face of the court, and toward the face of the building, were the chambers.

42.11 And the way before them was like the appearance of the chambers which are toward the north, as long as they are, so wide are all their exits, and as their courts, and as their doors.

42.12 And as for the doors of the chambers which were toward the south, he opened at the head of the way, a way before the garden, a way toward the east, in their coming.

42.13 And he said unto me, The chambers of the north, and the chambers of the south, which are before the court, these are the chambers of the sanctuary, where the priests that approach unto YHVH shall eat. there shall they lay the most holy things, and the meat offering, and the sin offering, and the trespass offering. for the place is holy.

42.14 When the priests come, they shall not go out of the holy place into the outer court, and there they shall lay their garments in which they minister, for they are holy; here they shall put on other garments, and come near to that which is for the people.

42.15 And he finished measuring the inner house, and brought me out by the way of the gate that faced toward the east, and measured it all around.

42.16 The east wind measured with the measuring reed, five cubits with the measuring reed round about.

42.17 The north wind measured five hundred cubits with the measuring reed all around.

42.18 He measured the south wind five hundred cubits with the measuring reed.

42.19 He turned to the wind and measured five hundred cubits with the measuring reed.

42.20 On the four sides they measured a wall around it, five hundred reeds long and five hundred reeds wide, to separate the holy place from the common place.

43.1 And he brought me to the gate which looked toward the east.

43.2 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east, and his voice was like the sound of many waters. and the earth shone with his glory.

43.3 And as for the vision of the vision that I saw, as for the vision that I saw when I came to destroy the city, and visions like the vision that I saw toward the river of Kabar, and darkness before my face.

43.4 And the glory of YHVH came into the house by the way of the gate that looketh toward the east.

43.5 Then the spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court, and behold, the glory of YHVH filled the house.

43.6 And I heard a voice speaking to me from the house, and there was a man standing by me.

43.7 And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever. and the house of Israel shall no more defile my holy place, they and their kings by their whoredom, and by the carcases of their kings in their death.

43.8 In your daughter they have put up my thresholds and my thresholds by my thresholds, and the wall between me and them, and they have defiled my holy name by their abominations which they have committed, and I have consumed them in my nostrils.

43.9 Now let them put away their whoredoms and the dead bodies of their kings far from me, and I will dwell among them forever.

43.10 Son of man, show the house of Israel the house, and let them measure their dwellings, and measure the plan thereof.

43.11 And if they were troubled about all that they had done, the form of the house, and the design thereof, and the goings out and the comings in, and all its form, and all its statutes, and all its form, and all its laws, he made known to them, and wrote it before their eyes, and they kept all its form, and all its statutes, and did them.

43.12 This is the law of the house upon the top of the mountain, all its borders round about, the holy of holies. this is the law of the house.

43.13 And these are the measurements of the altar in cubits, a cubit and a handbreadth, and the lap of a cubit and a handbreadth, and the border thereof unto the brim thereof round about the little finger of one. and this is the back of the altar.

43.14 And from the lap of the earth unto the lower ledge shall be two cubits, and the breadth one cubit. and from the lesser ledge unto the greater ledge shall be four cubits, and the breadth one cubit.

43.15 And the altar shall be four cubits. and from the altar and upward shall be four horns.

43.16 And the ariel was twelve long by twelve wide, square in its four quarters.

43.17 And the gate was fourteen cubits long and fourteen cubits wide, in its four quarters, and the border was half a cubit round about, and a cubit round about, and the top thereof was toward the east.

43.18 And he said unto me, Son of man, Thus saith YHVH GOD; These are the ordinances of the altar in the day that they shall offer burnt offerings upon it, and sprinkle blood upon it.

43.19 And thou shalt give unto the priests the Levites, which are of the seed of Zadok, which approach unto me, to minister unto me, saith YHVH GOD, a young bullock for a sin offering.

43.20 And thou shalt take of the blood thereof, and put it upon the four horns thereof, and upon the four corners of the mercy seat, and upon the border round about, and shalt cleanse it, and make atonement for it.

43.21 And they took the bullock for the sin offering, and burned it in the outer court of the house, without the sanctuary.

43.22 And on the second day you shall offer a male goat without blemish for a sin offering, and you shall purify the altar as you purified it with the bull.

43.23 For your sin offering you shall offer a young bull from the herd without blemish, or a ram from the flock without blemish.

43.24 And you shall bring them before YHVH, and the priests shall cast salt on them, and offer them up as a burnt offering to YHVH.

43.25 Seven days shalt thou offer a goat for a sin offering daily, and a young bullock, and a ram of the flock, without blemish.

43.26 Seven days they shall cleanse the altar, and purify it, and sanctify it.

43.27 And when the days are fulfilled, it shall come to pass, that from the eighth day and forward the priests shall offer your burnt offerings and your peace offerings upon the altar. and I will accept you, saith YHVH GOD.

44.1 And he sat with me by the way of the gate of the temple which is without, which looketh toward the east. and it was shut.

44.2 And YHVH said unto me, This gate shall be shut; it shall not be opened, and no man shall enter in by it. for YHVH God of Israel shall enter in by it, and it shall be shut.

44.3 He sat in the place of the prince, to eat bread before YHVH. he came in by the way of the gate, and went out by the way of the gate.

44.4 Then he brought me by way of the north gate to the front of the house, and I looked, and behold, the glory of YHVH filled the house of YHVH, and darkness appeared before me.

44.5 And YHVH said unto me, Son of man, mark well, and see with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears all that I speak unto thee, concerning all the statutes of the house of YHVH, and all his laws. and set thine heart toward the entry of the house, and toward all the goings out of the temple.

44.6 And thou shalt say unto the transgressors, Thus saith YHVH GOD; Ye are many in all your abominations, O house of Israel.

44.7 In that ye brought in strangers, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to profane my house, in that ye offered the bread of milk and blood, and broke my covenant with all your abominations.

44.8 And ye have not kept the charge of my sanctuary, nor anointed those that keep my charge in my sanctuary for yourselves.

44.9 Thus saith YHVH GOD; No stranger, uncircumcised in heart and flesh, shall come into my sanctuary, no stranger that is among the children of Israel.

44.10 But the Levites who have gone far from me in the transgressions of Israel, who have gone astray from me after their idols, have borne their iniquity.

44.11 And there shall be in the sanctuary of the ministers, keepers of the gates of the house, and ministers of the house. they shall slay the burnt offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister unto them.

44.12 Because they served them before their idols, and were a stumbling block to the house of Israel iniquity. therefore will I stretch out my hand upon them, saith YHVH GOD; and they shall bear their iniquity.

44.13 And they shall not come near unto me, to do my priest's office, nor to approach unto all my holy things, unto the most holy things. but they shall bear their shame and their abominations which they have committed.

44.14 And I have made them keepers of the charge of the house, for all his service, and for all that shall be done therein.

44.15 And the priests the Levites, the sons of Zadok, which kept the charge of my sanctuary when the children of Israel transgressed against me, they shall come near unto me to minister unto me, and they shall stand before me to offer unto me the fat and the blood, saith YHVH GOD.

44.16 They shall come into my sanctuary, and they shall approach my messengers, to minister unto me, and to keep my charge.

44.17 And it shall be, when they enter in at the gates of the inner court, that they shall be clothed with linen garments, and no wool shall come upon them, while they serve at the gates of the inner court, and in the house.

44.18 They shall have linen turbans on their heads, and linen breeches on their loins; they shall not gird themselves with sweat.

44.19 And when they go out into the outer court unto the people, they shall put off their garments in which they ministered, and lay them in the holy place, and put on other garments, and shall not sanctify the people with their garments.

44.20 And they shall not shave their heads, nor send a scythe, but shall cover their heads.

44.21 And none of the priests shall drink wine when they enter into the inner court.

44.22 And they shall not take a widow or a divorced woman as wives, but a virgin of the seed of the house of Israel, and a widow who is the widow of a priest, they shall take.

44.23 And he will teach my people between the holy and the common, and between the unclean and the clean.

44.24 And in the controversy they shall stand to judge in my judgment, and shall judge it. and they shall keep my law and my statutes in all my seasons, and hallow my sabbaths.

44.25 And he shall not come near the dead of any man to defile himself. but for father, or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister that hath had no man, they shall defile themselves.

44.26 And after his purification seven days shall be counted unto him.

44.27 And on the day that he comes into the sanctuary, into the inner court, to minister in the sanctuary, he shall offer his sin offering, saith YHVH GOD.

44.28 And it shall be unto them for an inheritance, I am their inheritance, and ye shall not give them possession in Israel. I am their possession.

44.29 The offering, and the sin offering, and the guilt offering, they shall eat. and every accursed thing in Israel shall be theirs.

44.30 And the first of all the firstborn of all, and every heave offering of all your heave offerings, shall be for the priest. and the first of your heaves ye shall give unto the priest, to cause a blessing to rest upon thine house.

44.31 The priests shall not eat any dead animal or any thing that is torn by beasts or birds.

45.1 And when you shall divide the land for inheritance, you shall offer an offering unto YHVH, a holy portion of the land, five and twenty thousand reeds in length, and ten thousand in breadth. it shall be holy throughout all the borders thereof round about.

45.2 Of this shall be the sanctuary, five hundred by five hundred, a square all around, and fifty cubits of border for it all around.

45.3 And of this measure shalt thou measure the length of five and twenty thousand, and the breadth of ten thousand. and in it shall be the sanctuary, the most holy place.

45.4 The holy portion of the land shall be for the priests, the ministers of the sanctuary, who shall offer to minister to YHVH; and they shall have a place for houses, and a sanctuary for the sanctuary.

45.5 And twenty-five thousand in length and ten thousand in width shall be for the Levites, the ministers of the house, to have twenty chambers.

45.6 And the possession of the city shall be five thousand in breadth, and five and twenty thousand in length, according to the offering of the holy things for all the house of Israel.

45.7 And the chief on this side and on that side for the holy offering and for the possession of the city, over against the holy offering and over against the possession of the city, from the west side of the sea, and from the east side toward the east; and the length for the amots, one portion from the sea border to the east border.

45.8 The land shall be his possession in Israel, and my princes shall no more oppress my people, but they shall give the land to the house of Israel according to their tribes.

45.9 Thus saith YHVH GOD. Ye have become many, O princes of Israel. take away wrath and violence, and execute judgment and righteousness. take away your transgressions from off my people, saith YHVH GOD.

45.10 You will have scales of justice, a just and just balance, and a just daughter.

45.11 The ephah and the daughter shall be one plan to carry the tenth of the asher, the daughter and the wealth of the asher, the ephah to the asher shall be its planner.

45.12 And the shekel of twenty gerahs, twenty shekels of five and twenty shekels, fifteen and ten shekels, shall be your portion.

45.13 This is the offering that you shall offer. a sixth of an ephah of fine flour, and a sixth of an ephah of fine flour.

45.14 And the measure of oil, the tenth part of the oil, from the bath of ten baths, is an omer. for ten baths are an omer.

45.15 And one lamb out of the flock out of two hundred, from the house of Israel, for a meat offering, and for a burnt offering, and for peace offerings, to make atonement for them, saith YHVH GOD.

45.16 All the people of the land will be this offering to the president in Israel.

45.17 And the prince shall have charge of the burnt offerings and the meal offering, and of the sacrifices in the feasts, and in the new moons, and in the sabbaths, in all the appointed feasts of the house of Israel. he shall offer the sin offering, and the meal offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make atonement for the house of Israel.

45.18 Thus saith YHVH GOD; On the first day of the month, on the first day of the month, thou shalt take a young bullock without blemish, and cleanse the sanctuary.

45.19 And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the doorposts of the house, and upon the four corners of the altar, and upon the doorposts of the gate of the inner court.

45.20 And so you shall do on the seventh day of the month, for every man that erreth and is sinning, and ye shall cleanse the house.

45.21 On the fourteenth day of the first month you shall have the Passover, a feast of seven days, unleavened bread shall be eaten.

45.22 And the prince shall offer on that day for himself and for all the people of the land a bullock for a sin offering.

45.23 And he shall offer a burnt offering unto YHVH seven bullocks and seven rams without blemish daily for the seven days, and a kid of the goats for a sin offering daily.

45.24 And he shall offer a meat offering, one for the bullock, and one for the ram, and a hin of oil, one for each.

45.25 On the seventh day, on the fifteenth day of the month, he shall do the same for the seven days, as the sin offering, as the burnt offering, and as the grain offering, and as the oil.

46.1 Thus saith YHVH GOD; The gate of the inner court that looketh toward the east shall be shut the six working days. but on the sabbath day it shall be opened, and on the new moon day it shall be opened.

46.2 And the prince came by the way of the porch of the gate without, and stood by the doorpost of the gate. and the priests offered his burnt offering and his peace offerings, and worshipped at the threshold of the gate. and he went out. and the gate was not shut until the even.

46.3 And they bowed down with the people at the opening of that gate on the Sabbaths and on the new moons before YHVH.

46.4 And the burnt offering which the prince shall offer unto YHVH on the sabbath day shall be six lambs without blemish, and a ram without blemish.

46.5 And he shall offer an ephah for the ram and for the lambs, a meat offering of his hand, and a hin of oil for an ephah.

46.6 And on the day of the new moon a young bullock without blemish, and six lambs, and a ram without blemish.

46.7 And he shall offer an oblation for the bullock, and for the ram, and for the lambs, as much as he can get, and a hin of oil for an ephah.

46.8 And when the prince shall come in by the way of the porch of the gate, he shall come in, and shall go out by his way.

46.9 And when the people of the land come before YHVH at the appointed times, they shall come by the way of the north gate to worship, and shall go out by the way of the south gate. and they shall not return by the way of the gate by which they came in. for they shall go out before YHVH.

46.10 And the prince among them, when they come in, shall come in; and when they go out, they shall go out.

46.11 And at the feasts and at the appointed times the oblation shall be for a bullock, and for a ram, and for the lambs, according to his own hand, and a hin of oil for an ephah.

46.12 And if the prince offer a burnt offering or peace offerings, a burnt offering to YHVH, and open the gate for him, he shall face eastward, and offer his burnt offering and his peace offerings, as he does on the Sabbath day, and shall go out, and shut the gate after he has gone out.

46.13 And thou shalt offer a lamb a year old without blemish, every day thou shalt offer it for a burnt offering unto YHVH in the morning.

46.14 And thou shalt offer a meat offering for it every morning, the sixth part of an ephah, and the third part of a hin of oil, to break the sheaf of meat offering unto YHVH, an ordinance for ever.

46.15 And they shall offer the lamb, and the meat offering, and the oil, every morning for a continual burnt offering.

46.16 Thus saith YHVH GOD; If the prince give a gift unto any of his sons, it shall be his inheritance unto his sons; it shall be their possession in the inheritance.

46.17 And if he give a gift of his inheritance to one of his servants, and it shall be his until the year of liberty, and the sabbath of the prince; but his inheritance shall be his sons'.

46.18 And the prince shall not take of the inheritance of the people to divide them from their possession. from his possession shall he give to his sons, that my people may not redeem any of his possession.

46.19 And he brought me by the entry that was at the side of the gate into the holy chambers, to the priests, which looked toward the north. and, behold, there was a place by the pool of water toward the west.

46.20 And he said unto me, This is the place where the priests shall boil the trespass offering and the sin offering, where they shall bake the meat offering. that it be not brought forth into the outer court, to sanctify the people.

46.21 And he brought me out into the outer court, and led me to the four posts of the court; and, behold, a court within a court, a court within a court.

46.22 In the four courtyards of the courtyard were courtyards of forty cubits long and thirty broad, one cubit for each of the four courtyards.

46.23 And a column round about them round about, and chambers made under the towers round about.

46.24 And he said unto me, These are the houses of the cooks, where the ministers of the house shall cook the sacrifice of the people.

47.1 And I sat down at the door of the house, and, behold, waters came out from under the threshold of the house toward the east. for the face of the house was toward the east. and the waters came down from under the right side of the house from the right hand unto the altar.

47.2 And he brought me out by the way of the north gate, and brought me forth by the way without unto the outward gate, the way that looketh toward the east. and, behold, water poured out from the right shoulder.

47.3 And the man went forth, and the line was in his hand, and measured a thousand cubits, and brought me through the waters of the waters of Ashe.

47.4 He measured a thousand, and made me pass through the waters, waters of the wilderness. he measured a thousand, and made me pass through the waters of the wilderness.

47.5 And he measured a thousand rivers, which I could not pass over. for the waters were risen. a river that could not pass over, because it had overflowed.

47.6 And he said unto me, Seest thou a son of man? and let him lead me, and sit me down by the brink of the river.

47.7 When I returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on this side and on that side.

47.8 And he said unto me, These waters issue forth into the former Galilee, and go down into the plain, and come into the sea, and the waters are healed.

47.9 And it shall come to pass, that every living soul that moveth, whithersoever the rivers come, shall live. and there shall be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters shall come thither, and they shall be healed, and all that shall come thither shall live.

47.10 And there shall be fish upon it, from En-gedi even to En-egal, from the plain unto the deserts, they shall be of every kind. their fish shall be as the fish of the great sea, very many.

47.11 When he went out and gathered his people, they would not be healed. They gave him salt.

47.12 And by the river shall grow on its bank on this side and on that side every tree for food; its leaf shall not wither, nor shall its fruit fail in its months; it shall bring forth its firstfruits. for its waters shall issue from the sanctuary. and its fruit shall be for food, and its leaf for medicine.

47.13 Thus saith YHVH GOD; This is the border whereby ye shall inherit the land, even the twelve tribes of Israel, Joseph and his sons.

47.14 And ye shall inherit it, every man according to his brethren, which I lifted up my hand to give unto your fathers. and this land shall fall unto you for an inheritance.

47.15 And this is the border of the land toward the north from the great sea, the way to Hatlan, to come to it.

47.16 Hamath-beratha-sebar, which is between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath-hazra-midheth, which is to the border of Horen.

47.20 And the coast of the sea, the great sea, from the border even unto the entering in of Hamath, this is the coast of the sea.

47.21 And ye shall divide this land unto you according to the tribes of Israel.

47.22 And ye shall divide it for an inheritance unto you, and unto the strangers that sojourn among you, which beget children among you, and shall be to you as a citizen among the children of Israel, they shall divide it for an inheritance among the tribes of Israel.

47.23 And it shall be in the tribe where the stranger sojourneth, there shall ye give his inheritance, saith YHVH GOD.

48.1 And these are the names of the tribes, from the north end to the hand of the way of Hattalon, as thou comest to Hamath, the border of Damascus northward unto the hand of Hamath, and the east side thereof was one Dan.

48.12 And they had an offering from the offering of the land, the most holy of holies, by the border of the Levites.

48.13 And the Levites shall have over against the border of the priests five and twenty thousand in length, and ten thousand in breadth. all the length shall be five and twenty thousand, and the breadth ten thousand.

48.14 They shall not sell any of it, nor exchange it, nor pass it through the first part of the land, for it is holy to YHVH.
