Exodus

1.1 And these are the names of the children of Israel, which came out of Egypt, Jacob, every man with his household, came.

1.2 Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah

1.3 Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin

1.4 Dan and Naphtali, Gad and Asher

1.5 And all the souls that came out of Jacob's loins were seventy souls. and Joseph was in Egypt.

1.6 And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.

1.7 And the children of Israel were fruitful, and multiplied, and increased exceedingly, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.

1.8 And there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.

1.9 And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than he.

1.10 Let us deal wisely with him, lest he multiply, and it come to pass, when war is declared, that he also joineth with our enemies, and fighteth against us, and goeth up out of the land.

1.11 And they set over him taskmasters to afflict him with their burdens. and he built cities of refuge for Pharaoh, Patmos and Rameses.

1.12 And as they shall answer him, so shall he multiply, and so shall he break forth, and be cut off from before the children of Israel.

1.13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel serve with rigor.

1.14 And they made their lives bitter with hard service, in mortar and brick, and in all manner of service in the field, all their service in which they served with rigor.

1.15 And the king of Egypt said unto the Hebrew midwives, whose name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the second Puah.

1.16 And he said to his child in Hebrew, "And you shall see on the stones whether it is a son, and wait for him; and if it is a daughter, and she shall live."

1.17 And the midwives feared Alhym, and did not do as the king of Egypt had commanded them, but saved the boys alive.

1.18 And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have kept the children alive?

1.19 And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women, for they live here before the midwife comes unto them, and they give birth.

1.20 And Alhym dealt well with the midwife, and the people multiplied and waxed exceeding mighty.

1.21 And it came to pass, when the midwives saw Alhym, that he made them houses.

1.22 And Pharaoh commanded all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter shall live.

2.1 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took unto him a daughter of Levi,

2.2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son. and when she saw him that he was good, she hid him three months.

2.3 And when she could wait no longer, she took him an ark of the covenant, and daubed it with clay and pitch, and put the child therein, and cast it at last upon the brink of the river.

2.4 And his sister stood afar off, to know what he would do unto him.

2.5 And Pharaoh's daughter came down to bathe at the river, she and her maidens walked by the river's edge, and she saw the ark in the midst of the river, and she sent her maid, and she took it.

2.6 And she opened it, and saw the child, and, behold, a youth weeping. and she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the children of the Hebrews.

2.7 And his sister said unto Pharaoh's daughter, Go, and I will call thee a nurse of the Hebrews, that she may nurse the child for thee.

2.8 And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Go, and call the child's mother.

2.9 And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse him for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed him.

2.10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. and she called his name Moses, saying, Because I drew him out of the water.

2.11 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their affliction. and he saw an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren.

2.12 And he looked this way and that, and when he saw that there was no man, he smote the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.

2.13 And he went out the second day, and, behold, two Hebrew men were smitten. And he said to the wicked man, Why smitest thou thy fellow?

2.14 And he said, Who made thee a prince and a judge over us? Kill me, saidst thou, as thou didst kill the Egyptian? And Moses feared, and said, Surely this thing is known.

2.15 And Pharaoh heard this thing, and sought to kill Moses. but Moses fled from the presence of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian, and sat by a well.

2.16 And the priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came and drew water, and filled the troughs to water their father's flock.

2.17 And the shepherds came and drove them away, and Moses arose and sat down and watered their flock.

2.18 And they came to Reuel their father, and he said, Why are you so hasty to come today?

2.19 And they said, An Egyptian delivered us out of the hand of the shepherds, and also a sheep was given to us, and he watered the flock.

2.20 And he said unto his daughters, Wherefore is this that ye have left the man? Call him, and he shall eat bread.

2.21 And Moses went to the man and sat down, and gave Zipporah his daughter to Moses.

2.22 And she bare a son, and he called his name Gershom. for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.

2.23 And it came to pass in those many days, that the king of Egypt died. and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and cried, and their cry ascended unto Alhym by reason of the bondage.

2.24 And Alhym heard their groaning, and Alhym remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob.

2.25 And Alhym saw the children of Israel, and Alhym knew

3.1 Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro, his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the wilderness and came to the mountain of Alhym in Haran.

3.2 And the angel of YHVH appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

3.3 And Moses said, Stand still, I pray thee, that I may see this great sight, why the bush burneth not.

3.4 And when YHVH saw that he turned aside to see, Alhym called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses, and he said, Here am I.

3.5 And he said, Take not the shoe of thy shoe off thy foot, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.

3.6 And he said, I am the Alhym of thy father, the Alhym of Abraham, the Alhym of Isaac, and the Alhym of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon Alhym.

3.7 And YHVH said, Behold, I have seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters. for I know their sorrows.

3.8 And I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good and large land, unto a land flowing with milk and honey, unto the place of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

3.9 And now, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me. and I have also seen the oppression wherewith the Egyptians oppress them.

3.10 Now therefore come, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.

3.11 And Moses said unto Alhym, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt?

3.12 And he said, Surely I will be with thee. and this shall be the sign unto thee, that I have sent thee, when thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt. ye shall serve Alhym upon this mountain.

3.13 And Moses said unto Alhym, Behold, I come unto the children of Israel, and will say unto them, The Alhym of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say unto me, What is his name? and what did he say unto them?

3.14 And Alhym said unto Moses, I will be that I will be. and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I will be has sent me unto you.

3.15 And Alhym said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, YHVH Alhym of your fathers, the Alhym of Abraham, the Alhym of Isaac, and the Alhym of Jacob, hath sent me unto you. this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.

3.16 Go and gather the elders of Israel together, and say to them, YHVH Alhym of your fathers, the Alhym of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, appeared to me, saying, I have surely visited you, and to that which is done to you in Egypt.

3.17 And I said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.

3.18 And hearken unto thy voice, and come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, YHVH Alhym of the Hebrews hath met with us. and now let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice unto YHVH our Alhym.

3.19 And I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go, except by a mighty hand.

3.20 And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst of it. and after that he will let you go.

3.21 And I will give this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, and it shall come to pass, when ye go, that ye shall not go empty.

3.22 And a woman shall borrow of her neighbour, and of her stranger, jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment, and ye shall put them upon your sons and upon your daughters, and ye shall deliver them out of Egypt.

4.1 And Moses answered and said, But they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice. for they will say, YHVH shall not appear unto thee.

4.2 And YHVH said unto him, Out of this is thine hand. And he said,

4.3 And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent. and Moses fled from before it.

4.4 And YHVH said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and took hold of it; and it was under his hand.

4.5 That they may believe that YHVH Alhym of their fathers, the Alhym of Abraham, the Alhym of Isaac, and the Alhym of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.

4.6 And YHVH said unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom, and came out, and, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.

4.7 And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and it came out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his flesh.

4.8 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, nor hearken unto the first whispering, but will believe the last whispering.

4.9 And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe even these two signs, nor hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land; and the water which thou shalt take out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.

4.10 And Moses said unto YHVH, O my Lord, I am not a man of words, neither in time past, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant. for I am of slow speech and of slow tongue.

4.11 And YHVH said unto him, Who maketh a mouth for man? or who maketh dumb, or deaf, or seeing, or seeing? am not I YHVH?

4.12 Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt speak.

4.13 And he said unto me, My lord, send, I pray thee, by thy hand.

4.14 And the anger of YHVH was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron thy brother the Levite? I knew that he would speak a word, and, behold, he came out to meet thee, and when he saw thee, he rejoiced in his heart.

4.15 And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth. and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.

4.16 And he shall speak unto the people, and he shall be unto thee for a mouth, and thou shalt be unto them for a Alhym.

4.17 And you shall take this staff in your hand, with which you shall perform the sign.

4.18 And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father-in-law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said unto Moses, Go in peace.

4.19 And YHVH said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt. for all the men are dead which sought thy life.

4.20 And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and returned into the land of Egypt. and Moses took the rod of Alhym in his hand.

4.21 And YHVH said unto Moses, When thou goest to return out of Egypt, see all the wonders which I have put in thine hand, and do them before Pharaoh. and I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.

4.22 And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith YHVH unto the children of Israel, The firstborn of the children of Israel,

4.23 And I said to you, “Send my son, that he may serve me.” But you refused to let him go. Behold, I will kill your son Bakr.

4.24 And it came to pass, that, while he was on the way, YHVH met him, and sought to kill him.

4.25 And Zipporah took a sharp knife, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and touched his feet, and said, Surely a bloody bridegroom art thou to me.

4.26 And he said unto him, A bridegroom of blood, unto the multitude.

4.27 And YHVH said unto Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and they met him at the mount of Alhym, and gave him drink.

4.28 And Moses told Aaron all the words of YHVH which he had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.

4.29 And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel.

4.30 And Aaron spake all the words which YHVH had spoken unto Moses, and did the sign in the sight of the people.

4.31 And the people believed, and heard that YHVH had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction; and they bowed their heads and worshipped.

5.1 And afterward Moses and Aaron came and said to Pharaoh, Thus says YHVH, the Alhym of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness.

5.2 And Pharaoh said, Who is YHVH, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not YHVH, neither will I let Israel go.

5.3 And they said, The Alhym of the Hebrews hath called upon us. let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice unto YHVH our Alhym. lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword.

5.4 And the king of Egypt said unto them, Why do ye, Moses and Aaron, distract the people from their work? Go, I will bear with you.

5.5 And Pharaoh said, The people of the land are now many, and ye have made them rest from their burdens.

5.6 And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and his officers, saying,

5.7 You shall not gather straw to give to the people to make bricks, as before, for they shall go and gather straw for themselves.

5.8 And the number of bricks which they made yesterday, which ye shall lay upon them, ye shall not diminish from it. for they are weak; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our Alhym.

5.9 Honor the work of men, and let them do it, and let them not be idle in falsehood.

5.10 And the taskmasters of the people and their officers went out and spoke to the people, saying, Thus says Pharaoh, I will not give you straw.

5.11 Go ye, get you as much straw as ye can find. for nothing shall be diminished of your service.

5.12 And the people scattered abroad throughout all the land of Egypt, as straw for straw.

5.13 And those who approach will rush to say, "Finish your work, a word from day to day, as when there was straw."

5.14 And the officers of the children of Israel, whom Pharaoh's officers had set over them, smote them, saying, Why have ye not fulfilled your duty to Laban, as yesterday, which is there, both yesterday and to day?

5.15 And the officers of the children of Israel came and cried unto Pharaoh, saying, Why dealest thou thus with thy servants?

5.16 There is no straw given to your servants and children, saying, "We have done it." And behold, your servants are beating you, and you have sinned against your people.

5.17 And he said, Ye are weak, ye are weak. therefore ye say, Let us go and sacrifice to YHVH.

5.18 Now therefore go, serve, and no straw shall be given you, and you shall give it to the children.

5.19 And the officers of the children of Israel saw that they were in trouble, saying, Ye shall not diminish anything from your bones every day.

5.20 And they smote Moses and Aaron, who stood against them, as they came out from Pharaoh.

5.21 And they said unto them, YHVH fear you, and judge you; for ye have made us abominable in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us.

5.22 And Moses returned unto YHVH, and said, O my Lord, why hast thou evil done unto this people? wherefore hast thou sent me?

5.23 And since then I have come to Pharaoh to speak evil of this people in your name, and you have not saved your people.

6.1 And YHVH said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh. for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.

6.2 And Alhym spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am YHVH.

6.3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of El Shaddi. but by my name YHVH was I not known unto them.

6.4 And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their sojournings, wherein they dwelt.

6.5 And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage, and I have remembered my covenant.

6.6 Therefore say to the children of Israel, I am YHVH, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of Egypt, and I will deliver you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments.

6.7 And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be your Alhym. and ye shall know that I am YHVH your Alhym, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of Egypt.

6.8 And I will bring you into the land which I swore to give to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, and I will give it to you for an inheritance. I am YHVH.

6.9 And Moses spake thus unto the children of Israel. but they hearkened not unto Moses out of weariness, and out of hard bondage.

6.10 And YHVH spake unto Moses, saying,

6.11 And word came to Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he let the children of Israel go out of his land.

6.12 And Moses spake before YHVH, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me. and how shall Pharaoh hear me, seeing I am of uncircumcised lips?

6.13 And YHVH spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, and charged them with the children of Israel, and with Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

6.14 These are the heads of their fathers' houses. the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel. Hanoch, and Phalua, Hezron, and Carmi. these are the families of Reuben.

6.15 And the sons of Simeon were Jemuel, and Imman, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zachar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman. these are the families of Simeon.

6.17 The sons of Gershon were Beni and Shimei by their families.

6.19 And the sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. these are the families of Levi according to their generations.

6.20 And Amram took Jochebed his father's daughter to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses. and the years of the life of Amram were an hundred and thirty and seven years.

6.25 And Eleazar the son of Aaron took him one of the daughters of Putiel to wife; and she bare him Phinehas. these are the heads of the fathers of the Levites after their families.

6.26 This is that Aaron and Moses, to whom YHVH said, Bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.

6.27 These are they that speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt; these are Moses and Aaron.

6.28 And it came to pass on the day that YHVH spake unto Moses in the land of Egypt.

6.29 And YHVH spake unto Moses, saying, I am YHVH. speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I speak unto thee.

6.30 And Moses said before YHVH, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?

7.1 And YHVH said unto Moses, See, I have made thee as Alhym to Pharaoh. and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.

7.2 You shall speak all that I command you, and Aaron your brother shall speak to Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land.

7.3 And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt.

7.4 But Pharaoh will not listen to you, and I will lay my hand on Egypt and bring my armies, my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt with great judgments.

7.5 And the Egyptians shall know that I am YHVH, when I have stretched out my hand upon Egypt, and have brought out the children of Israel from among them.

7.6 And Moses and Aaron did as YHVH commanded them, so did they.

7.7 And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh.

7.8 And YHVH spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

7.9 When Pharaoh speaks to you, saying, “Show yourselves a miracle,” then you shall say to Aaron, “Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh, and it will become a serpent.”

7.10 And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as YHVH commanded. and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent.

7.11 Then Pharaoh also called for the wise men and the sorcerers, and the magicians of Egypt also did in like manner with their enchantments.

7.12 And they cast down every man his rod, and it became a serpent unto them. and Aaron's rod swallowed up their rod.

7.13 And Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as YHVH had spoken.

7.14 And YHVH said unto Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go.

7.15 Go to Pharaoh in the morning, and behold, the water has come out. Stand against him on the bank of the river, and take in your hand the staff that was turned into a serpent.

7.16 And thou shalt say unto him, YHVH Alhym of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness. and, behold, hitherto thou hast not hearkened.

7.17 Thus saith YHVH; In this thou shalt know that I am YHVH. behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.

7.18 And the fish that was in the river died, and the river burned with fire, and the Egyptians were forced to drink water from the river.

7.19 And YHVH spake unto Moses, saying, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their rivers, upon their streams, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water. and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, and upon trees, and upon stones.

7.20 And Moses and Aaron did so, as YHVH commanded. and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters which he had brought, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters which he had brought were turned into blood.

7.21 And the fish that was in the river died, and the river dried up, and the Egyptians could not drink water from the river. and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.

7.22 And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments. and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as YHVH had spoken.

7.23 And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, and he did not set his heart on this either.

7.24 And all the Egyptians dug round about the river for water to drink, because they could not drink of the water of the river.

7.25 And it came to pass seven days after that YHVH had smitten the river,

7.26 And YHVH said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith YHVH, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

7.27 And if thou refuse to send, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs.

7.28 And the river shall bring forth frogs, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the houses of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy ovens, and into thy dunghills.

7.29 And you shall weep, and upon your people, and upon all your servants, and the frogs shall come up.

8.1 And YHVH spake unto Moses, saying, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thine hand with thy rod over the rivers, over the canals, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.

8.2 And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt.

8.3 And the magicians did so with their instruments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt.

8.4 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Entreat YHVH, that he take away the frogs from me, and from my people, and I will let the people go, that they may sacrifice to YHVH.

8.5 And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Insult me. when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and from thy houses? Only in the spring shall they remain.

8.6 And he said to the morrow, And he said, According to thy word, that thou mayest know that there is none like unto YHVH our Alhym.

8.7 And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy servants, and from thee only shall they remain in the wilderness.

8.8 And Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh. and Moses cried unto YHVH because of the frogs which he had brought upon Pharaoh.

8.9 And YHVH did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, and out of the porch, and out of the porch.

8.10 And they gathered them together, and the land was filled with shame.

8.11 And Pharaoh saw that there was a wind, and he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them; as YHVH had said.

8.12 And YHVH said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the earth, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

8.13 And they did so. and Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice on man, and on beast. all the dust of the earth was lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

8.14 And the magicians did so with their instruments to cast out the snares, but they could not. and the snares were upon man and beast.

8.15 And they said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of Alhym. and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as YHVH had spoken.

8.16 And YHVH said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and, behold, there cometh forth water out of the water. and thou shalt say unto him, Thus saith YHVH, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

8.17 But if you do not let my people go, behold, I will send plagues upon you and upon your servants and upon your people and upon your houses; and the houses of Egypt shall be filled with plagues, and also the land on which they are.

8.18 And I will cut off on that day the land of Goshen, wherein my people dwell, that there shall be no Arab there. that thou mayest know that I am YHVH in the midst of the earth.

8.19 And I will put a ransom between my people and your people. to morrow shall this sword be.

8.20 And YHVH did so; and a severe plague came upon the house of Pharaoh, and upon the house of his servants; and throughout all the land of Egypt the land was consumed by the plague.

8.21 And Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Go, sacrifice to your Alhym in the land.

8.22 And Moses said, It is not meet so to do. for we will sacrifice the abomination of Egypt unto YHVH our Alhym. behold, we will sacrifice the abomination of Egypt before their eyes, and they will not stone us.

8.23 We will go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to YHVH our Alhym, as he shall say unto us.

8.24 And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to YHVH your Alhym in the wilderness. only ye shall not go very far. intreat for me.

8.25 And Moses said, Behold, I go out from among you, and I will entreat YHVH. and go out from Pharaoh, and from his servants, and from his people, even to morrow; only let Pharaoh be angry, that he will not let the people go to sacrifice to YHVH.

8.26 And Moses went out from Pharaoh, and prayed unto YHVH.

8.27 And YHVH did according to the word of Moses, and removed the evening from Pharaoh's servants; and of his people there remained not one.

8.28 And Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and did not let the people go.

9.1 And YHVH said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh, and speak unto him, Thus saith YHVH Alhym of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

9.2 But if you refuse to let them go, and still hold on to them,

9.3 Behold, the hand of YHVH is upon thy tent which is in the field, upon the horses, upon the asses, upon the camels, upon the oxen, and upon the sheep, a very grievous thing.

9.4 And YHVH shall sever between the cattle of Israel and the cattle of Egypt. and nothing of the children of Israel shall die.

9.5 And YHVH appointed a time, saying, Tomorrow YHVH shall do this thing in the land.

9.6 And YHVH did this thing the next day, and all the cattle of Egypt died. but of the cattle of the children of Israel died not one.

9.7 And Pharaoh sent, and, behold, there died not one of the cattle of the children of Israel. and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he let not the people go.

9.8 And YHVH said unto Moses and unto Aaron, Take unto you handfuls of soot of the furnace, and let Moses sprinkle it toward heaven in the sight of Pharaoh.

9.9 And it became dust in all the land of Egypt, and boils broke out in boils upon man and beast, and boils broke out in boils throughout all the land of Egypt.

9.10 And they took soot from the furnace, and stood before Pharaoh. and Moses sprinkled it toward heaven, and it became boils breaking forth with boils upon man and beast.

9.11 And the potters could not stand before Moses because of the boils. for the boils were in their pots, and in all Egypt.

9.12 And YHVH hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he hearkened not unto them; as YHVH had spoken unto Moses.

9.13 And YHVH said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith YHVH Alhym of the Hebrews, Let my people go, that they may serve me.

9.14 For at this time I will send all my plagues upon your heart, and upon your servants, and upon your people, that you may know that there is none like me in all the earth.

9.15 For now I will stretch out my hand and strike you and your people with a word, and you will be destroyed from the earth.

9.16 But for this very purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power and to proclaim my name throughout all the earth.

9.17 You still rage against my people, not sending them away.

9.18 Behold, I will cause it to rain tomorrow a very heavy hail, such as has not been in Egypt since the day it was founded until now.

9.19 Now therefore, send away your tent and all that you have in the field, every man and beast that is found in the field and is not brought home, and the hail comes down on them and they die.

9.20 Pharaoh's servants feared the word of YHVH, and made his servants and his cattle flee into the houses.

9.21 And he that regarded not the word of YHVH, but left his servants and his cattle in the field,

9.22 And YHVH said unto Moses, Stretch forth thine hand toward heaven, that there may be hail in all the land of Egypt, upon man, and upon beast, and upon every herb of the field, throughout the land of Egypt.

9.23 And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven, and YHVH sent thunder and hail, and fire ran along upon the ground; and YHVH rained hail upon the land of Egypt.

9.24 And there was hail, and fire blazing within the hail, very heavy, such as had not been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.

9.25 And the hail smote throughout all the land of Egypt all that was in the field, both man and beast; and the hail smote every herb of the field, and brake every tree of the field.

9.26 Only in the land of Goshen, where the children of Israel were, was there no hail.

9.27 Then Pharaoh sent and called for Moses and Aaron, and said to them, I have sinned this time. YHVH is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.

9.28 Pray to YHVH, and I will send you a great plague of lightning and hail, and you will not be able to stand.

9.29 And Moses said unto him, As soon as I am gone out of the city, I will spread abroad my hands unto YHVH. the thunder shall cease, neither shall there be any more hail. that thou mayest know that the earth is YHVH'S.

9.30 And as for you and your servants, I know that you do not yet fear YHVH Alhym.

9.31 And she was naked, and her hair was cut off. for her hair was green, and her hair was naked, and her hair was black.

9.32 And the wheat and the spelt were not burned, because it was dark.

9.33 And Moses went out of the city from Pharaoh, and spread forth his hands unto YHVH. and the thunder and hail ceased, and there was no rain upon the earth.

9.34 And when Pharaoh saw that the rain and the hail and the mildness had ceased, he sinned again, and his heart was hardened, he and his servants.

9.35 And Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he would not let the children of Israel go; as YHVH had spoken by Moses.

10.1 And YHVH said unto Moses, Go in unto Pharaoh. for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I may shew these two signs of mine in the midst of him.

10.2 And that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son's son, how I have wrought wickedness in Egypt, and my signs which I have done among them; and ye shall know that I am YHVH.

10.3 And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, Thus saith YHVH Alhym of the Hebrews, How long shall I suffer affliction, because I have let my people go, that they may serve me?

10.4 But if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts into your territory.

10.5 And it shall cover the eyes of the earth, that one shall not be able to see the earth; and it shall eat the residue of the residue of the hail, which remaineth unto you, and shall eat every tree which groweth for you out of the field.

10.6 And your houses shall be filled, and the houses of all your servants, and the houses of all the Egyptians, such as neither your fathers nor your fathers' fathers have seen, from the day that they were upon the earth unto this day. And he turned and went out from Pharaoh's people.

10.7 And Pharaoh's servants said unto him, How long shall this be a snare unto us? Let the people go, that they may serve YHVH their Alhym, before thou knowest that Egypt is destroyed.

10.8 And he brought Moses and Aaron unto Pharaoh, and said unto them, Go, serve YHVH your Alhym. who and what goeth?

10.9 And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old; with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds we will go; for it is a feast to YHVH unto us.

10.10 And he said unto them, So be it unto you, O YHVH, when I send you away, and your little ones, and see that evil is before you.

10.11 No, go now, all you men, and serve YHVH, for you are the ones you seek. And he will drive you out from the presence of Pharaoh.

10.12 And YHVH said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt, and eat every herb of the land, even all that the hail hath left.

10.13 And Moses stretched out his rod over the land of Egypt, and YHVH brought an east wind upon the land all that day, and all that night; and the morning came, and the east wind carried away the locusts.

10.14 And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt, and rested in all the coasts of Egypt, very grievous. before them there was no locust like it, neither after them shall there be any like it.

10.15 And it covered the face of the whole earth, and the land was darkened; and it ate every herb of the land, and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left. and there remained not any green thing in the trees, or in the herbs of the field, in all the land of Egypt.

10.16 Then Pharaoh hastily called for Moses and Aaron, and said, I have sinned against YHVH your Alhym, and against you.

10.17 And now, I pray thee, forgive my sin only this once, and entreat YHVH your Alhym, that he may take away from me this death only.

10.18 And he went out from Pharaoh, and prayed unto YHVH.

10.19 And YHVH turned a very strong wind at the sea, which took away the locusts, and cast them into the Red Sea. there remained not one locust in all the coasts of Egypt.

10.20 And YHVH hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let the children of Israel go.

10.22 And Moses stretched forth his hand toward heaven, and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days.

10.23 They saw not one his brother, neither rose any from under him for three days. and all the children of Israel had light in their habitation.

10.24 And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go, serve YHVH. only let your flocks and your herds be left behind. your little ones also shall go with you.

10.25 And Moses said, Thou also shalt give us sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may do them unto YHVH our Alhym.

10.26 And our hoof shall go with us; not a hoof shall be left behind, for from it we must take to serve YHVH our Alhym. And we will not know with what we must serve YHVH until we come thither.

10.27 And YHVH hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let them go.

10.28 And Pharaoh said unto him, Get thee from me. beware, see my face no more. for in the day thou seest my face thou shalt die.

10.29 And Moses said, Thus hast thou spoken. I will see thy face no more.

11.1 And YHVH said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; after that he will let you go hence, as he hath sent away all the people, so will he drive you hence.

11.2 Speak now in the ears of the people, and let them ask every man of his neighbor, and every woman of her neighbor, vessels of silver and vessels of gold.

11.3 And YHVH gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh's servants, and in the sight of the people.

11.4 And Moses said, Thus saith YHVH, About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt.

11.6 And there was a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was never before, nor will be again.

11.7 And among all the children of Israel, a dog shall not move his tongue, against man or beast. that ye may know that YHVH doth make a distinction between Egypt and Israel.

14.12 Is not this the word that we spoke to you in Egypt, saying, "Leave us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians; for it was better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the wilderness?"

14.13 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of YHVH, which he will shew to you to day. for the Egypt which ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14.14 YHVH will fight for you, and you will be silent.

14.15 And YHVH said unto Moses, Why cryest thou unto me? speak unto the children of Israel, and they shall depart.

14.16 But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea, and divide it. and the children of Israel shall go into the midst of the sea on dry ground.

14.17 And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them. and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.

15.2 O my strength and my song, O YHVH, and let him be my salvation, O Alhym, my father's Alhym, and let him be my refuge.

15.3 YHVH is a man of war, YHVH is his name.

15.4 Pharaoh's chariots and his army were drowned in the sea, and the chosen men of his army were drowned in the Red Sea.

15.5 They shall cover him with death, they shall go down into the depths like a stone.

15.6 Your right hand, O YHVH, is glorious; in your strength, O YHVH, you will make the enemy stumble.

15.7 And in the greatness of your pride you will destroy your feet; you will send out your wrath, they will be devoured like stubble.

15.8 And at the blast of your nostrils the waters were piled up, they stood like a heap of water, the depths were frozen in the heart of the sea.

15.9 He said, "I will pursue the enemy, I will overtake him, I will divide the spoil; fill his soul with my sword, and strike him with my hand."

15.10 You blew with your spirit, they covered the seas, they sank like lead in mighty waters.

15.11 Who is like a blow to YHVH, who is like a blow to the holy one? Who is like a blow to YHVH, who is like a blow to the holy one? Who is like a blow to YHVH? Who

15.12 Bend your right hand and the earth will swallow you up.

15.13 You have come down in your mercy to this people whom you have redeemed; you have led them in your strength to your holy sanctuary.

15.14 Hear, O nations, the strength of Ahaz, the inhabitants of Philistia,

15.15 Then the leaders of Edom will be terrified, the mighty men of Moab will be seized with fear; all the inhabitants of Canaan will be terrified.

15.16 You will cause fear and dread to fall upon them by the greatness of your arm. They will be as still as a stone, until your people, O YHVH, pass by, until this people, which you have purchased, pass by.

15.17 Come and taste the mountain of your inheritance, the place of your dwelling, the work of YHVH, the sanctuary of YHVH, which your hands have prepared.

15.18 YHVH shall reign for ever and ever.

15.19 For Pharaoh's horse came in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea; and YHVH brought back the waters of the sea upon them; and the children of Israel went on dry ground in the midst of the sea.

15.20 And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand. and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with musick.

15.21 And Miriam answered them, Sing unto YHVH, for the horse is exalted, and his rider is exalted in the sea.

15.22 And Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea, and they went forth into the wilderness of Shur. and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.

15.23 And when they came to Maratha, they could not drink of the water of Maratha, because they were bitter. therefore the name of it was called Maratha.

15.24 And the people complained to Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

15.25 And he cried unto YHVH; and YHVH gave him a tree, and he cast it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet there. there was a law and judgment for him, and there he was tried.

15.26 And he said, If thou wilt diligently hearken unto the voice of YHVH thy Alhym, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases upon thee which I have put upon the Egyptians. for I am YHVH that healeth thee.

15.27 And they came to Elmah, where were twelve wells of water, and seventy palm trees. and they encamped there by the waters.

16.1 And they journeyed from Elam, and the whole congregation of the children of Israel came unto the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elam and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after their coming out of the land of Egypt.

16.2 And all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron in the wilderness.

16.3 And the children of Israel said unto them, Would Alhym that we had died by the hand of YHVH in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the fleshpots, when we did eat bread to the full. for ye have brought us out into this wilderness, to kill this whole congregation with hunger.

16.4 And YHVH said unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you. and the people went out, and gathered a certain amount every day, that I might prove them, whether they would walk in my law, or not.

16.5 And it shall be on the sixth day that they shall prepare that which they bring in, and it shall be a second day over that which they gather daily.

16.6 And Moses and Aaron said unto all the children of Israel, This is the day that ye shall know that YHVH hath brought you out from the land of Egypt.

16.7 And it shall come to pass in the morning, that ye shall see the glory of YHVH, when he hath heard your murmurings against YHVH; and we shall be at rest, because ye murmur against us.

16.8 And Moses said, When YHVH shall give you in the evening flesh to eat, and in the morning bread to the full, then YHVH shall hear your murmurings which ye murmur against him, and shall relent. why is not your murmurings against us, but against YHVH?

16.9 And Moses said unto Aaron, Say unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, Come near before YHVH; for he hath heard your murmurings.

16.10 And it came to pass, as Aaron spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, that they turned toward the wilderness. and, behold, the glory of YHVH appeared in the cloud.

16.11 And YHVH spake unto Moses, saying,

16.12 I have heard the murmurings of the children of Israel. speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh, and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread. and ye shall know that I am YHVH your Alhym.

16.13 And it came to pass at even, that the cloud came up, and covered the camp. and in the morning the dew lay round about the camp.

16.14 And the dew was gone up, and, behold, upon the face of the wilderness a thin crust, as fine as a hoarfrost upon the ground.

16.15 And the children of Israel saw it, and said every man to his brother, What is it? for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, It is the bread which YHVH hath given you to eat.

16.16 This is the thing which YHVH hath commanded, Gather of it every man according to his eating, an omer for a roll, according to the number of your souls, every man for his tent, that ye may take it.

16.17 And the children of Israel did so, and gathered, he that had more, and he that had less.

16.18 And they taught by the omer. and he that increased had no advantage, and he that decreased had no lack, according to his eating and gathering.

16.19 And Moses said unto them, Let no man leave any more of it until the morning.

16.20 And they hearkened not unto Moses. and the people increased more than he until the morning, and it brought forth worms, and stank. and Moses was wroth with them.

16.21 And they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating. and the sun waxed hot, and it melted.

16.22 And it came to pass on the sixth day, that they gathered bread of the second kind, two omers for one man. and all the princes of the congregation came and told Moses.

16.23 And he said unto them, This is that which YHVH hath spoken, To morrow is the sabbath of YHVH. to morrow shall be a holy sabbath unto YHVH. that which ye shall bake in the oven, and that which ye shall seethe in the pot, and all that remaineth shall ye lay up to be kept until the morning.

16.24 And they laid him down until the morning, as Moses commanded. and he was not ashamed, neither was there any shame in him.

16.25 And Moses said, Eat it today, for today is a Sabbath to YHVH. Today you will not find it in the field.

16.26 Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day there shall be no Sabbath.

16.27 And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the people went out to gather, and found none.

16.28 And YHVH said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my statutes?

16.29 See, for YHVH has given you the Sabbath, therefore he gives you on the sixth day the bread of days; each of you shall abide in his place; let no one go out of his place on the seventh day.

16.30 And the people rested on the seventh day.

16.31 And the house of Israel called the name thereof Manna. and it was like coriander seed, white, and the taste thereof like wafers with honey.

16.32 And Moses said, This is the thing which YHVH hath commanded, to keep an omer full of it throughout your generations, that they may see the bread wherewith I fed you in the wilderness, when I brought you out of the land of Egypt.

16.33 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of manna therein, and lay it up before YHVH, to be kept throughout your generations.

16.34 As YHVH commanded Moses, so Aaron set it before the congregation to be kept.

16.35 And the children of Israel did eat manna forty years, until they came to a land inhabited by the heathen. they did eat manna, until they came to the uttermost part of the land of Canaan.

16.36 And the omer is the tenth part of an ephah.

17.1 And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of YHVH, and pitched in Rephidim. and there was no water for the people to drink.

17.2 And the people quarreled with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? Why tempt ye YHVH?

17.3 And the people thirsted there for water. and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore hast thou brought us up out of Egypt, to kill me and my son and my cattle with thirst?

17.4 And Moses cried unto YHVH, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they will soon stone me.

17.5 And YHVH said unto Moses, Pass on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smote the brook, take in thine hand, and go.

17.6 Behold, I will stand before you there upon the rock with a sword, and you shall strike the rock, and water shall come out of it, and the people shall drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.

17.7 And he called the name of that place Massah and Meribah, because of the quarreling of the children of Israel, and because they tempted YHVH, saying, Is YHVH among us, or not?

17.8 Then Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim.

17.9 And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us men, and go out against Amalek. tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of Alhym in mine hand.

17.10 And Joshua did as Moses had said unto him, to fight with Amalek. and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.

17.11 And it came to pass, when Moses lifted up his hand, that Israel prevailed. and when he let down his hand, that Amalek prevailed.

17.12 And Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat upon it. and Aaron and Hur supported his hands, on the one hand, and on the other; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.

17.13 And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

17.14 And YHVH said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua. for I will utterly blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.

17.15 And Moses built an altar, and called the name of YHVH of hosts.

17.16 And he said, Because the hand of YHVH is upon the throne, there is war for YHVH with Amalek from everlasting to everlasting.

18.1 Now Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father-in-law, heard of all that Alhym had done for Moses and for Israel his people, how that YHVH had brought Israel out of Egypt.

18.2 And Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, took Zipporah, Moses' wife, after she had sent her away.

18.3 And her two sons, of whom one he sent away, saying, I have been a stranger in a strange land.

18.4 And the name of the one was Eliezer. for the Alhym of my father was my help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh.

18.5 And Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Moses into the wilderness where he was encamped at the mountain of Alhym.

18.6 And he said unto Moses, I am thy son-in-law Jethro, come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.

18.7 And Moses went out to meet his son-in-law, and bowed himself, and drank water from his cup; and they greeted one another, and they came into the tent.

18.8 And Moses told his father-in-law all that YHVH had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for the sake of the children of Israel, and all the hardship that had befallen them on the way, and YHVH had made them afraid.

18.9 And they were exceedingly thankful for all the goodness which YHVH had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.

18.10 And Jethro said, Blessed be YHVH, who hath delivered you out of the hand of Egypt, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.

18.11 Now I know that YHVH is greater than all gods, for in the thing which they have transgressed against him

18.12 And Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for Alhym. and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses' father-in-law before Alhym.

18.13 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses returned to judge the people. and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the evening.

18.14 And Moses' father-in-law saw all that he did to the people, and said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? Why sittest thou alone, and all the people stand about thee from morning unto evening?

18.15 And Moses said unto his father in law, The people come unto me to seek Alhym.

18.16 For if they have a matter, they come unto me, and I judge between every man and his neighbour, and I make known the statutes of Alhym, and his laws.

18.17 And Moses' son-in-law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good.

18.18 You are a scoundrel, both you and this people who are with you. For the matter is too heavy for you; you cannot do it alone.

18.19 Now therefore hearken unto my voice, I will counsel thee, and Alhym shall be with thee. be thou the people before Alhym, and thou shalt bring the matters before Alhym.

18.20 And thou shalt teach them statutes and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work which they must do.

18.21 And thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear Alhym, men of truth, hating covetousness. and thou shalt set over them captains of thousands, captains of hundreds, captains of fifties, and captains of tens.

18.22 And they shall judge the people at all times. and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto thee, and every small matter they shall judge. and the light things shall they bear with thee.

18.23 If you do this thing and Alhym commands it, you will be able to stand, and all this people will also come to their place in peace.

18.24 And Moses hearkened unto the voice of his son in law, and did all that he said.

18.25 And Moses chose men of valor out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

18.26 And they shall judge the people at all times. the hard cause they shall bring unto Moses, and every small matter they shall judge themselves.

18.27 And Moses sent away his son-in-law, and he departed into his own land.

19.1 In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.

19.2 And they journeyed from Rephidim, and came to the wilderness of Sinai, and pitched in the wilderness. and Israel pitched there before the mountain.

19.3 And Moses went up unto Alhym. and YHVH called unto him out of the mount, saying, Thus shalt thou say unto the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel,

19.4 You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, how I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to myself.

19.5 Now therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, then you will be my treasured possession above all peoples, for all the earth is mine.

19.6 And you shall be to me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.

19.7 And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which YHVH had commanded him.

19.8 And all the people answered together, and said, All that YHVH hath spoken we will do. And Moses brought the words of the people unto YHVH.

19.9 And YHVH said unto Moses, Behold, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear the words of thy people, and also believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto YHVH.

19.10 And YHVH said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes.

19.11 And be ready against the third day. for on the third day YHVH came down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.

19.12 And you charged the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go up into the mount, and touch the border thereof. whosoever toucheth the mount shall surely be put to death.

19.13 No hand shall touch it, for it shall be stoned, or shot, whether it be a beast, or a man, that shall not live during the year; they shall go up to the mountain.

19.14 And Moses went down from the mountain unto the people, and sanctified the people, and they washed their clothes.

19.15 And he said unto the people, Be ready for three days. come not near a woman.

19.16 And it came to pass on the third day, at the morning watch, that there was thunder and lightning, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and a very strong thunder. and all the people that were in the camp trembled.

19.17 And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet Alhym, and they stood at the foot of the mountain.

19.18 And Mount Sinai was completely on a smoke, because YHVH descended upon it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain trembled greatly.

19.19 And the sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, and Moses spoke, and Alhym answered with a voice.

19.20 And YHVH came down upon mount Sinai, to the top of the mount. and YHVH called Moses to the top of the mount. and Moses went up.

19.21 And YHVH said unto Moses, Go down, testify unto the people, lest they break through to YHVH to see; and many fell of him.

19.22 And the priests also, who come near to YHVH, shall sanctify themselves, lest YHVH break out upon them.

19.23 And Moses said unto YHVH, The people cannot come up unto mount Sinai. for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds by the mount, and sanctify it.

19.24 And YHVH said unto him, Go, get thee down, and come up, thou, and Aaron with thee. and the priests, and the people, let them not destroy the altar of YHVH, lest he break forth upon them.

19.25 And Moses went down unto the people, and said unto them,

20.1 And Alhym spoke all these words, saying,

20.2 I am YHVH your Alhym, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.

20.3 You shall have no other gods before me.

20.4 You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

20.5 You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I, YHVH your Alhym, am a jealous Alhym, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me.

20.6 And sheweth mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

20.7 You shall not take the name of YHVH your Alhym in vain, for YHVH will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

20.8 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

20.9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work.

20.10 But the seventh day is the Sabbath of YHVH your Alhym. in it you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your manservant, nor your maidservant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger that is within your gates.

20.11 For in six days YHVH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day. wherefore YHVH blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

20.12 Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which YHVH your Alhym gives you.

20.13 Thou shalt not murder

20.14 You shall not commit adultery.

20.15 Thou shalt not steal

20.16 You shall not answer your neighbor falsely.

20.17 You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is your neighbor's.

20.18 And all the people saw the fire, and the torches, and the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking. and the people saw it, and they removed, and stood afar off.

20.19 And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear. but let not Alhym speak with us, lest we die.

20.20 And Moses said unto the people, Fear not. for Alhym is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.

20.21 And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where Alhym was.

20.22 And YHVH said unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.

20.23 Ye shall not make unto me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.

20.24 An altar of earth shalt thou make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thy oxen. in every place where I cause my name to be remembered, I will come unto thee, and will bless thee.

20.25 And if thou make me an altar of stones, thou shalt not build them of hewn stone. for thou hast drawn thy sword against it, and hast defiled it.

20.26 And you shall not go up to my altar, where you shall not uncover your nakedness.

21.1 And these are the judgments which thou shalt set before them.

21.2 For if you buy a Hebrew servant, he shall serve six years, and in the seventh he shall go out free for nothing.

21.3 If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself; if he is a married man, and his wife goes out with him, he shall go out by himself.

21.4 If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the wife and her children shall be her master's, and he shall go out by himself.

21.5 And if the servant shall say, I love my master, my wife, and my son. I will not go out free.

21.6 And his master shall bring him to Alhym, and shall bring him to the door, or to the doorpost; and his master shall pierce his ear through with an awl, and he shall serve him for ever.

21.7 And if a man sell his daughter to her mother, she shall not go out as the servants go out.

21.8 If it displeases her master, who has not appointed her, and has redeemed her to a foreign people, he shall not judge her by her treachery.

21.9 But if her son's heart desires her, he shall do to her according to the judgment of daughters.

21.10 Otherwise, if he takes his wife's veil and she is not punished, he shall not be deprived of it.

21.11 And if he do not these three things for her, and she go out free, there is no money.

21.12 He who strikes a man and he dies shall be put to death.

21.13 And he that hunteth not, and Alhym be with him, I will appoint thee a place whither thou shalt flee.

21.14 And if a man be jealous of his neighbor, to kill him treacherously, thou shalt take him away from my altar to die.

21.15 And he that smiteth his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.

21.16 And if a man steal and sell it, and it is found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death.

21.17 And he that curseth his father or his mother shall surely be put to death.

21.18 And if men strive together, and one smiteth his neighbour with a stone, or with his fist, and die not, but is laid down to rest.

21.19 If he rises and walks outside on his bed, and the wound is healed, only his body shall be healed, and he shall be healed.

21.20 And if a man smite his manservant or his maidservant with a rod, and he die under his hand, he shall be avenged.

21.21 But if he stands for a day or two, he will not rise again, because his money is

21.22 If men lie down and hurt a pregnant woman, and her children come out, and there is no calamity, he shall be punished as the woman's husband imposed on him and shall be punished with the fine.

21.23 And if there be a calamity, and thou shalt give life for life.

21.24 An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, a hand for a hand, a foot for a foot.

21.25 Burn under burn Wound under wound Bruise under bruise

21.26 And if a man smite the eye of his manservant, or the eye of his maidservant, and it perish without cause, he shall put it out for his eye.

21.27 And if a man's tooth or a woman's tooth fall out, he shall put it in its place.

21.28 And if an ox gore a man or a woman, that they die, the ox shall be stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; and the owner of the ox shall be clean.

21.29 And if an ox gore, and it gore, and be set at nought, and be not kept in, and kill a man or a woman, the ox shall be stoned, and its owner also shall be put to death.

21.30 If he make atonement for himself and give the ransom of his life according to all that is laid upon him,

21.31 Whether it be a son of a man or a daughter of a man, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him.

21.32 If a servant gores an ox or a female ox, he shall give to his master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned.

21.33 And if a man shall open a pit, or dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein,

21.34 The owner of the pit shall pay money and restore it to its owner, and the dead man shall be his.

21.35 And if a man's ox gore his neighbor's ox, and it die, then they shall sell the live ox, divide the money thereof, and shall also put away the dead ox.

21.36 Or if it is known that an ox has gored in the past, and its owner has not kept it in, he shall pay ox for ox, and the dead man shall be his.

21.37 If a man steal an ox or a sheep, and slaughter it or sell it, he shall pay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.

22.1 If a thief is found in a secret place and he is struck and dies, there is no bloodguilt for him.

22.2 If the sun rises upon him, he shall make full payment; if he has none, and it is sold for theft.

22.3 If he find the theft in his hand, whether it be ox or donkey, he shall make restitution for two years.

22.4 If a man set fire to a field or vineyard, and send a fire, and the field is consumed, he shall make restitution for the best of his field or of the best of his vineyard.

22.5 If fire break out and find thorns, and consume the standing corn, or the standing corn, or the whole field, he that kindled it shall make restitution for the fire.

22.6 If a man deliver unto his neighbour money or stuff to keep, and it be stolen out of the man's house; if the thief be found, he shall pay two hundred thousand.

22.7 If the thief is not found, and the owner of the house approaches Alhym, if he has not put his hand to his neighbor's work,

22.8 For every trespass, whether it be in an ox, or in an ass, or in a sheep, or in any other manner of loss, which it shall be said is his, until Alhym come, the cause of both of them, which Alhym shall judge, he shall pay twofold unto his neighbor.

22.9 If a man deliver to his neighbor an ass, or an ox, or a sheep, or any beast, to keep, and it die, or be broken, or taken away, he shall not see it.

22.10 The oath of YHVH shall be between them both, if he has not put his hand to his neighbor's work, and has not taken what is his, and has not made restitution.

22.11 And if a thief steal from his own people, he shall make restitution to his owner.

22.12 If he takes prey, he shall bring it to the prey, and he shall not make restitution.

22.13 And if a man borrow of his neighbor's money, and his owner is broken or dies, and he has no money left, he shall make restitution.

22.14 If his master is with him, he will not pay; if he is a hired hand, he is only paid his wages.

22.15 And if a man entice a virgin, which is not married, and lie with her, she shall be his wife;

22.16 If her father refuses to give her money, he shall weigh her as a virgin.

22.17 A witch will not live.

22.18 Whoever lies with an animal shall surely be put to death.

22.19 A sacrifice to any god is to be rejected, except to YHVH alone.

22.20 And a stranger shall not be oppressed, neither shalt thou oppress him. for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

22.21 You shall not afflict any widow or orphan.

22.22 If he answers, answer him; but if he cries out, he will cry out to me; I will hear his cry.

22.23 And my anger shall be kindled, and I will kill you with the sword. and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

22.24 If my people lend money to the poor among you, you shall not be to him as a wife, nor shall you put a thorn in his side.

29.22 And thou shalt take of the ram the fat, and the fat that covereth the inwards, and the caul that covereth the liver, and the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, and the right shoulder. for it is a ram of the fulness of days.

29.23 And one loaf of bread, and one cake of oiled bread, and one wafer out of the basket of unleavened bread that is before YHVH.

29.24 And thou shalt put all upon the hands of Aaron, and upon the hands of his sons, and wave them for a wave offering before YHVH.

29.25 And thou shalt take them from their hands, and burn the incense upon the altar upon the burnt offering for a sweet savour before YHVH. it is an offering made by fire unto YHVH.

29.26 And thou shalt take the breast of the ram of Aaron's consecration, and wave it for a wave offering before YHVH. and it shall be thine for a portion.

29.27 And thou shalt sanctify the breast of the wave offering, and the thigh of the heave offering, which is waved, and which is heaved up of the ram of consecration, for Aaron, and for his sons.

29.28 And it shall be to Aaron and to his sons by a statute for ever from the children of Israel. for it is a heave offering, and it shall be an heave offering from the children of Israel, from the sacrifices of their peace offerings, their heave offering unto YHVH.

29.29 And the holy garments which are Aaron's shall be for his sons after him, to be anointed with them, and to be consecrated with them.

29.30 Seven days shall the priest in his stead, one of his sons, who comes into the tabernacle of the congregation to minister in the sanctuary, put them on.

29.31 And thou shalt take the ram of the consecration, and boil his flesh in a holy place.

29.32 And Aaron and his sons ate the flesh of the ram, and the bread that was in the basket, at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

29.33 And they shall eat them with which atonement was made, to sanctify them. and a stranger shall not eat thereof, because they are holy.

29.34 And if any of the flesh of the fatlings, or of the bread, remain until morning, and thou burn the remainder with fire, it shall not be eaten, because it is holy.

29.35 And thou shalt do unto Aaron and to his sons thus, according to all that I have commanded thee. seven days shalt thou fill their hands.

29.36 And thou shalt make a bullock for a sin offering daily for the cities, and shalt make a sin offering upon the altar in thy cities upon it, and shalt anoint it, to sanctify it.

29.37 Seven days shalt thou make atonement for the altar, and sanctify it. and the altar shall be most holy. whatsoever toucheth the altar shall be sanctified.

29.38 And this is what you shall offer on the altar. lambs a year old, two lambs a day continually.

29.39 You shall offer the one lamb in the morning, and the other lamb at twilight.

29.40 And a tenth of a pound of beaten bread, with the fourth part of a hin of beaten oil, and a fourth part of a hin of wine for the one lamb.

29.41 And the other lamb thou shalt offer between the evenings, as the offering of the bullock. and thou shalt make a sin offering of it, for a sweet savour unto YHVH.

29.42 You shall go up throughout your generations to the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before YHVH, which I have appointed for you, to speak to you there.

29.43 And I will cause it to pass over unto the children of Israel, and it shall be sanctified in my sight.

29.44 And I will sanctify the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, and Aaron and his sons will I sanctify to minister unto me in the priest's office.

29.45 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their Alhym.

29.46 And they shall know that I am YHVH their Alhym, which brought them out of the land of Egypt, that I might dwell among them. I am YHVH their Alhym.

30.1 And thou shalt make an altar of incense. thou shalt make it of shittim wood.

30.2 A cubit shall be its length, and a cubit its breadth; it shall be square; and its horns shall spring forth from it.

30.3 And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, its top, and its sides round about, and its horns, and shalt make unto it a crown of gold round about.

30.4 And you shall make two rings of gold for it under its crown, on its two sides; you shall make it on its two sides, and it shall be for the houses alone, to bear the burden of the beast with it.

30.5 And thou shalt make the staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with gold.

30.6 And thou shalt put it before the mercy seat that is upon the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is upon the testimony, which I have commanded thee.

30.7 And Aaron shall burn sweet incense upon it every morning, when he lighteth the lamps, he shall burn sweet incense upon it.

30.8 And when Aaron lighteth the lamps between the evenings, he shall burn incense upon it continually before YHVH throughout your generations.

30.9 You shall not offer strange incense upon it, neither shall you pour upon it a burnt offering, nor a meal offering, nor a drink offering.

30.10 And Aaron shall make atonement upon its horns once a year with the blood of the sin offering made by the atonement. once a year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations. it is most holy unto YHVH.

30.11 And YHVH spake unto Moses, saying,

30.12 When you take the head of the children of Israel to number them, and they give every man atonement for his soul to YHVH when they number them, and there shall be no plague among them when they number them.

30.13 This shall they give to all that pass over the gates, half a shekel, after the shekel of the sanctuary, twenty gerahs to the shekel, half a shekel, an offering unto YHVH.

30.14 Everyone who passes the test, from twenty years old and upward, shall give YHVH's offering.

30.15 The rich shall not increase, and the poor shall not diminish half a shekel, to give the offering of YHVH to make an atonement for your souls.

30.16 And thou shalt take the atonement money of the children of Israel, and shalt appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of the congregation. and it shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel before YHVH, to make an atonement for your souls.

30.17 And YHVH spake unto Moses, saying,

30.18 And thou shalt make a laver of brass, and cast it of brass to wash withal. and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein.

30.19 And Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet from it.

30.20 When they go into the tent of meeting they shall wash with water, that they die not, or when they approach the altar to minister, to burn incense unto YHVH.

30.21 And they shall wash their hands and their feet, and they shall not die; and it shall be a statute for ever unto him, and to his seed throughout their generations.

30.22 And YHVH spake unto Moses, saying,

30.23 And thou shalt take unto thee in the heavens five hundred heads of wild boars, and two hundred and fifty of them, and fifty of them, and fifty of them,

30.24 And five hundred shekels of the holy oil, and a hin of olive oil.

30.25 And thou shalt make of it a holy anointing oil, a confection after the art of a confectioner. it shall be a holy anointing oil.

30.26 And thou shalt anoint with it the tabernacle of the congregation, and the ark of the testimony.

30.27 And the table and all its utensils, and the lampstand and its utensils, and the altar of incense,

30.28 And the altar of burnt offering, and all his vessels, and the laver and his stand,

30.29 And thou shalt sanctify them, and they shall be most holy. whatsoever toucheth them shall be sanctified.

30.30 And thou shalt anoint Aaron and his sons, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest's office.

30.31 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, This shall be a holy anointing oil unto me throughout your generations.

30.32 It shall not be made of human flesh, nor shall you make any like it; it is holy; it shall be holy to you.

30.33 Whoever makes a concoction of it, and gives it to a stranger, that person shall be cut off from his people.

30.34 And YHVH said unto Moses, Take thee morsels, and thou shalt make a semolina

30.35 And thou shalt make a sweet incense, the work of the apothecary, of pure, holy salt.

30.36 And thou shalt beat off thine hand from it, and put it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the congregation, which I have ordained for thee. it shall be unto you most holy.

30.37 And the incense which thou shalt make in the tabernacle of the congregation, ye shall not make for yourselves. it shall be holy unto thee unto YHVH.

30.38 Whoever makes anything like it, to smell like it, shall be cut off from his people.

31.1 And YHVH spake unto Moses, saying,

31.2 See, I have called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah.

31.3 And I have filled him with the Spirit of Alhym, in wisdom, in understanding, in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.

31.4 To devise a plan to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass.

31.5 And in the quarry of stone for filling, and in the quarry of wood for making all manner of work.

31.6 And I, behold, I have given with him Oholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan; and in the hearts of all that are wise-hearted I have put wisdom, that they may make all that I have commanded thee.

31.7 The tent of meeting, and the ark of the testimony, and the mercy seat that is upon it, and all the vessels of the tabernacle

31.8 And the table and its utensils, and the pure lampstand and all its utensils, and the altar of incense,

31.9 And the altar of burnt offering, and all his vessels, and the laver and his base,

31.10 And the garments of service, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons for the priest's office.

31.11 And the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, to sanctify, according to all that thou hast commanded thee, they shall do.

31.12 And YHVH spake unto Moses, saying,

31.13 And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, Only my Sabbaths shall you keep, for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations, that you may know that I am YHVH who sanctifies you.

31.14 And ye shall keep the sabbath, for it is holy unto you. he that profaneth it shall surely be put to death. for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.

31.15 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day is the Sabbath, a holy Sabbath to YHVH. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day shall surely be put to death.

31.16 And the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

31.17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever. for in six days YHVH made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

31.18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of speaking with him in mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of Alhym.

32.1 And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us. for as for this Moses, the man which brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what was become of him.

32.2 And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden rings which are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring them unto me.

32.3 And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron.

32.4 And he took it from their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, and made it a molten calf, and said, These are thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

32.5 And Aaron saw it, and built an altar before it, and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to YHVH.

32.6 And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered a burnt offering, and brought it in peace. and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to laugh.

32.7 And YHVH said unto Moses, Go, get thee down. for thy people, which thou broughtest up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves.

32.8 They have turned aside quickly out of the way which you commanded them, and have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed unto it, and said, These are thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.

32.9 And YHVH said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it is a stiffnecked people.

32.10 Now therefore let me alone, that my anger may burn against them, and I may consume them, and I will make of thee a great nation.

32.11 And Moses besought YHVH his Alhym, and said, Why doth YHVH blaze against his people, which thou hast brought forth out of the land of Egypt with great power, and with a mighty hand?

32.12 Why should the Egyptians say, "For evil you brought them out to kill them in the mountains and to consume them from the face of the earth?" Turn back from the fierceness of your anger and relent from the evil of your people.

32.13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by yourself, and said to them, I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the sky, and all this land that I said I would give to your descendants, and they will inherit it forever.

32.14 And YHVH repented of the evil which he had said he would do unto his people.

32.15 And Moses turned and went down from the mountain, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand, tables of writing on both sides of them, on this side and on that side were they written.

32.16 And the tablet is the work of Alhym, and the writing is the writing of Alhym, graven upon the tablet.

32.17 And Joshua heard the noise of the people in the camp, and said unto Moses, There is a noise of war in the camp.

32.18 And he said, There is no voice of the mighty, nor the voice of the weak. the voice of the mighty I hear.

32.19 And it came to pass, when he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf and the oblation. and Moses' anger was kindled, and he cast the table out of his hand, and brake them under the mount.

32.20 And he took the calf which they had made, and burned it in the fire, and ground it until it was fine, and scattered it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink it.

32.21 And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought a great sin upon them?

32.22 And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot. thou knowest the people, that they are in evil.

32.23 And they said unto me, Make us gods which shall go before us. for as for this Moses, the man which brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

32.24 And he said unto them, Where is the gold that ye have broken, and given it me, and I will cast it into the fire. and out came this calf.

32.25 And Moses saw the people, and, behold, they were troubled. for Pharaoh had made Aaron a reproach among them.

32.26 And Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on my side for YHVH? And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.

32.27 And he said unto them, Thus saith YHVH Alhym of Israel, Put every man his sword upon his thigh, and go and return from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.

32.28 And the children of Levi did according to the word of Moses. and there fell of the people that day about thirty thousand men.

32.29 And Moses said, Consecrate yourselves today to YHVH, for every man to his son, and to his brother, and to him will he bestow upon you this day a blessing.

32.30 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin. and now I will go up unto YHVH. peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.

32.31 And Moses returned unto YHVH, and said, O my people, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

32.32 And now, if you will bear their sin, and if not, blot me out of your book which you have written.

32.33 And YHVH said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, blot him out of my book.

32.34 Now therefore go, bring the people unto the place of which I have spoken unto thee. behold, mine angel shall go before thee. and it shall come to pass in the day when I visit, that I will visit their sin upon them.

32.35 And YHVH smote the people, because they made the calf, which Aaron made.

33.1 And YHVH spake unto Moses, Go up hence, thou, and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it.

33.2 And I sent an angel before thee, and drove out the Canaanites, the Amorites, and the Hittites, and the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

33.3 To a land flowing with milk and honey, for I will not go up among you, for you are a stiff-necked people, lest I consume you on the way.

33.4 And when the people heard this evil tidings, they mourned, and none of his witnesses drank of him.

33.5 And YHVH said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffnecked people. In a moment will I come up into the midst of thee, and I will cast out thy enemies. but now take down thy witness from off thee, that I may know what to do unto thee.

33.6 And the children of Israel repented before the witnesses at Mount Horeb.

33.7 And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, far from the camp, and called it the tabernacle of the congregation. and it was so, that every one that sought YHVH went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.

33.8 And it came to pass, when Moses went out unto the tabernacle, that all the people rose up, and stood every man at the door of his tent, and looked after Moses, until he came into the tabernacle.

33.9 And it came to pass, when Moses was come into the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and talked with Moses.

33.10 And all the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the door of the tabernacle. and all the people rose up, and worshipped, every man at the door of his tent.

33.11 And YHVH spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. and he returned into the camp, and his minister Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.

33.12 And Moses said unto YHVH, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people; and thou hast not let me know by whom thou wilt send me; and thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.

33.13 And now, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me your ways and let me know you, so that I may find favor in your sight. And see that this nation is your people.

33.14 And he said, Let my face go, and I will let thee go.

33.15 And he said unto him, If it be not thine, go not up hence.

33.16 And how shall I know that I and my people have found favor in your sight, except that you go with us, and that we have distinguished you, I and my people, from all the people who are on the face of the earth?

33.17 And YHVH said unto Moses, I will do this thing also which thou hast spoken; for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I will make thee known by name.

33.18 And he said, Show me, I pray thee, thy glory.

33.19 And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and will proclaim the name of YHVH before thee, and will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.

33.20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face. for there shall no man see me, and live.

33.21 And YHVH said, Behold, I have a place with you, and you shall stand upon the rock.

33.22 And it came to pass, that I was heavy upon thee, and I laid thee in the cleft of the rock, and I laid my hand upon thee until I had passed over.

33.23 And I will take away my hand, and you shall see my back, but my face shall not be seen.

34.1 And YHVH said unto Moses, Hew thee two tables of stone like unto the first tables. and I will write upon the tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest.

34.2 And be ready in the morning, and go up in the morning unto mount Sinai, and stand there unto me on the top of the mount.

34.3 And no man shall come up with thee, neither let any man fear throughout all the mount. neither let the flocks nor the herds feed before that mount.

34.4 And he hewed two tables of stone like unto the firstfruits. and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up into mount Sinai, as YHVH commanded him, and took in his hand two tables of stone.

34.5 And YHVH descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of YHVH.

34.6 And YHVH passed by before him, and called YHVH, YHVH Alhym, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth.

34.7 He showed mercy to thousands, bearing iniquity and transgression and sin, and will not purge away sin, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and fourth generations.

34.8 And Moses made haste, and bowed himself to the earth, and worshipped.

34.9 And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O my lord, let my lord, I pray thee, go among us. for it is a stiffnecked people, and forgive our iniquity, and our sin, and our inheritance.

34.10 And he said, Behold, I make a covenant before all thy people. I will do marvels, such as have not been done in all the earth, nor in any nation. and all the people among whom thou art shall see the work of YHVH. for it is an awesome thing that I will do with thee.

34.11 Keep what I command you today. I will drive out before you the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite.

34.12 Take heed to yourself that you make no covenant with the inhabitants of the land to which you are going, lest it become a snare among you.

34.13 For you shall destroy their altars, and break their pillars, and cut down their groves.

34.14 For you shall worship no other god, for YHVH, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous Alhym.

34.15 Lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, and they go a whoring after their gods, and sacrifice unto their gods, and thou be called, and eat of their sacrifices.

34.16 And you take of his daughters for your sons, and his daughters go a whoring after their gods, and your sons go a whoring after their gods.

34.17 Alhym, you will not make a mask for yourself.

34.18 You shall keep the feast of unleavened bread; seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, which I commanded you, at the time of the new moon, for in the new moon you came out of Egypt.

34.19 Every one that is born, have mercy on me, and every one that is born, remember the offspring of ox and sheep.

34.20 And if thou redeem not a donkey, then thou shalt behead all the firstborn of thy sons, and they shall not see thy face empty.

34.21 Six days you shall labor, but on the seventh day you shall rest, plowing and harvesting.

34.22 And thou shalt keep the feast of sevens, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering, at the time of the year.

34.23 Three times in the year shall all your descendants see the face of YHVH, the Alhym of Israel.

34.24 For I will drive out nations before you, and enlarge your borders; and no one shall desire your land, which you possess, to appear before YHVH your Alhym three times in the year.

34.25 You shall not sacrifice the blood of my sacrifice with leaven, nor shall the sacrifice of the Passover be left overnight.

34.26 The first of the firstfruits of thy land thou shalt bring unto the house of YHVH thy Alhym. thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk.

34.27 And YHVH said unto Moses, Write thee these words. for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.

34.28 And he was there with YHVH forty days and forty nights; he did not eat bread or drink water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.

34.29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai, and the two tables of the testimony were in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.

34.30 And Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, and, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they feared to come near him.

34.31 And Moses called unto them, and Aaron and all the children of Israel returned unto him. and Moses spake unto them.

34.32 And afterward all the children of Israel came near, and he fasted according to all that YHVH had spoken with him in mount Sinai.

34.33 And when Moses had made an end of speaking with them, he put a veil over his face.

34.34 And when Moses went in before YHVH to speak with him, he took off the vail until he came out. and he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he commanded.

34.35 And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone. and Moses put the vail upon his face again, until they came to speak with him.

35.1 And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto them, These are the things which YHVH hath commanded to do unto you.

35.2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day shall be to you a holy Sabbath, a sabbath to YHVH. whosoever doeth any work therein shall surely be put to death.

35.3 Ye shall kindle no fire in all your habitations on the sabbath day.

35.4 And Moses said unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, This is the thing which YHVH commanded, saying,

35.5 Take from among you an offering for YHVH. whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring YHVH's offering, gold, and silver, and brass.

35.6 And blue, and purple, and scarlet, two and six, and goats' hairs,

35.7 And you shall make a tree of elms from the earth, and a tree of poplars and poplar trees.

35.8 And oil for the light, and spices for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense.

35.9 And onyx stones, and onyx stones, for the ephod, and for the breastplate.

35.10 And every wise-hearted one among you shall come and make all that YHVH hath commanded.

35.11 The tabernacle, its tent, and its covering, its hooks, its boards, its bars, its pillars, and its bars.

35.12 The ark, and the linen, the mercy seat, and the vail of the vail.

35.13 The table, and its vessels, and all its vessels, and the shewbread,

35.14 And the lampstand of the light, and its accessories, and its lamps, and the oil for the light.

35.15 And the altar of incense, and the linen, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the screen for the door of the tabernacle,

35.16 The altar of burnt offering, and the brasen grate that is with it, with its vessels, and all its vessels, the laver and its stand,

35.17 The hangings of the court, its posts, its bases, and the screen for the gate of the court.

35.18 The pegs of the tabernacle, and the pegs of the court, and their cords.

35.19 The garments of service, to minister in the sanctuary, the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and the garments of his sons, to minister in the sanctuary.

35.20 And all the congregation of the children of Israel went out from before Moses.

35.21 And they came, every man whose heart stirred him up, and every man whose spirit stirred him up, and brought YHVH's offering for the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments.

35.22 And the men came unto the women, every willing heart brought bracelets, and earrings, and signet rings, and bracelets, all jewels of gold. and every man that offered an offering of gold unto YHVH.

35.23 And every man, with whom was found blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats, and red, and sable, and tawny, brought them.

35.24 All who offered an offering of silver and bronze brought the offering of YHVH, and all who found acacia wood for all the work of the service brought it.

35.25 And every wise-hearted woman spun with her hands, and brought it from the loom, the blue, and the purple, the scarlet, and the fine linen.

35.26 And all the women whom Laban had taken were skillful in weaving the goats.
