2 THESSALONIANS 1 1 Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Ihsou Christ: 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Ihsou Christ. 3 We are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brothers, as is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of each one of you for one another abounds. 4 So that we ourselves may boast of you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and afflictions which you endure. 5 This is an evidence of the righteous judgment of God, so that you may be considered worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer. 6 God is more than just in repaying those who trouble you. tribulation, 7 and to you who are troubled comfort with us, at the revelation of the Lord Ihsou from heaven with his powerful angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Ihsou Christ, 9 who are condemned to eternal destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power, 10 when he comes to be glorified in his saints and to be marveled at in all who believe, because our testimony to you was confirmed on that day. 11 For this reason we always pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling and fulfill every good pleasure and work of faith with power, 12 so that the name of our Lord Ihsou Christ may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Ihsou Christ. 2 THESSALONIANS 2 1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Ihsou Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, 2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter, as from us, to the end that the day of Christ is at hand; 3 That ye be not deceived in any way: for except the falling away come first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he may be called He sits in the temple of God as God, showing himself that he is God. 5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you, I told you these things? 6 But now you know what I am about to reveal in its own time. 7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work, except he who possesses it, even from within, 8 and then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the spirit of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his presence, 9 even according to the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who are lost, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God sends them a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie, 12 so that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 13 But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brothers beloved by the Lord, because God from the beginning called you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief in the truth, 14 to which he called you through our gospel, to the bringing about of the glory of our Lord Ihsou Christ. 15 Therefore, brothers, stand firm and hold to the traditions that you were taught, whether by word or by our letter. 16 May our Lord Ihsou Christ himself, and our God and Father, who loved us and gave us eternal hope through grace, 17 encourage your hearts and establish you in every good word and deed. 2 THESSALONIANS 3 1 Finally, brothers, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course and be glorified, just as it is with you. 2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and evil men, for not all have faith. 3 But the Lord is faithful, who will strengthen you and keep you from the evil one. 4 And we have confidence in the Lord concerning you, that you will both do and continue to do the things we command you. 5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patience of Christ. 6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Ihsou Christ, that you beware of every brother who walks disorderly, and not according to the tradition which he received of us. 7 For you yourselves know how to imitate us, that we did not command you, 8 nor did we eat anyone's bread for free, but with labor and toil we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you. 9 Not because we have not authority, but to give ourselves as an example to you, to imitate us. 10 For when we were with you, we commanded you this, that if anyone is not willing to work, neither should he eat. 11 For we hear that some are walking among you disorderly, not working, but being idlers. 12 Now such we command and exhort by our Lord Ihsou Christ that with quietness they work and eat their own bread. 13 But you, brothers, do not despise those who do good. 14 But if anyone does not obey our word by letter, note that person and do not associate with him, so that he may be ashamed. 15 Do not treat him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. 16 Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. 17 The hand of Paul, which is a sign in every letter, I write this. 18 The grace of our Lord Ihsou Christ be with you all. Amen.
