PETER I 1
1 Peter, an apostle of Ihsou Christ, to the elect exiles scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, 2 according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Ihsou Christ: Grace to you and peace be multiplied. 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Ihsou Christ, who according to his abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Ihsou Christ from the dead, 4 to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5 who are kept by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In which you rejoice for a little while, if need be, if you have been grieved by various trials, 7 so that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes even though it is tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and honor and glory at the revelation of Ihsou Christ. 8 Though you have not seen him, you love him; in whom, though you do not see him, you believe and rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 10 About which salvation the prophets who prophesied about the grace that would come to you have inquired and searched diligently, 11 searching what or what time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating, when he testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. 12 It was revealed that not to themselves but to us they were doing these things, which have now been announced to you by those who have preached the gospel to you in the Holy Spirit sent from heaven, into which angels longed to turn aside. 13 Therefore, having refreshed the loins of your mind, being sober, set your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Ihsou Christ; 14 as obedient children, not being fashioned after the former lusts of your ignorance: 15 but as he which hath called you is holy, be ye holy also in all manner of conversation: 16 because it is written, Ye shall be holy; for I am holy. 17 And if you call on the Father who judges impartially according to each person's work, with fear you have passed on the time of your exile. 18 Forasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, such as silver or gold, from your futile way of life handed down from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish or spot, 20 who was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifested in these last times for you, 21 who through him believe in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope might be in God. 22 Having purified your souls in obedience to the truth by the Spirit, in sincere brotherly love, love one another fervently from a pure heart, 23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, through the word of the living and enduring God. 24 For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower thereof falleth away. 25 But the word of the Lord abideth for ever: and this is the word which was preached unto you.

PETER I 2
1 Therefore, laying aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander, 2 as newborn infants, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 3 as you have tasted that the Lord is good. 4 To whom, as to a living stone, disapproved by men but chosen by God and worthy of honor, 5 you yourselves also, like living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Ihsou Christ. 6 For it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be ashamed. 7 To you therefore is the honor of those who believe, but they disbelieve. The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner. 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, to them that stumble at the word, and disbelieve: unto which also they were made. 9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Which in time past were not a people, but now are the people of God; which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy. 11 Beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 12 Having your conduct among the Gentiles good, that, in the which they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall see, glorify God in the day of visitation. 13 Submit yourselves therefore to every human creation for the Lord's sake: whether to the king, as supreme; 14 or to governors, as sent by him to execute vengeance on evildoers, and to praise them that do well. 15 For this is the will of God, that you may silence the ignorance of foolish people. 16 As free, and not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but as slaves of God. 17 Show honor at all times. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king. 18 Households, subjecting themselves to their superiors with all fear, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh. 19 For this is grace, if for conscience toward God one endures sorrow, suffering wrongfully. 20 For what evil is it, if, when ye sin and are reviled, ye endure it? But if, when ye do well, and suffer, ye endure it; this is grace with God. 21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us a mark, that you should follow in his steps. 22 Who committed no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth; 23 Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously; 24 Who himself bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but now have returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls.

PETER I 3
1 In the same way, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word through the repentance of their wives, 2 while they watch over your pure and reverent conduct. 3 Let it not be the outward adornment of braiding the hair and wearing gold jewelry or putting on fine clothes, 4 but let it be the hidden person of the heart, in the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. 5 For so the holy women who hoped in God adorned themselves, submitting themselves to their own husbands. 6 As Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord, to whom you have become children, doing good and not being afraid of any fear. 7 In the same way, husbands, dwell together in knowledge, giving honor to the wife as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered. 8 Finally, all of you be like-minded, sympathetic, loving-kindness, compassionate, tenderhearted, 9 not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing. 10 For he who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit. 11 Let him turn away from evil and do good; let him seek peace and pursue it. 12 For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their supplication: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil. 13 And if you are an imitator of what is good, 14 and if you suffer for righteousness' sake, blessed are you. Do not be afraid of their fear, nor be troubled. 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, always being ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear. 16 Having a good conscience, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, those who minister to you may be put to shame by your good work in Christ. 17 For he who does good will be praised, if he wills. of God, suffering, or doing evil. 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the Spirit, 19 in which he also preached to those in prison, 20 who had once been disobedient when the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water. 21 The corresponding figure of which now saves us is baptism, not the removal of dirt from the flesh but the appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Ihsou Christ, 22 who is at the right hand of God and has gone into heaven, with angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.

PETER I 4
1 Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves with the same mind, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2 in the lusts of men, but in the will of God, to live the rest of his time in the flesh. 3 For the time that has passed by is sufficient for us to have worked the will of the Gentiles, having walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excesses of wine, revelries, revelries, and unlawful idolatries; 4 in which they are strangers, not running with you into the same flood of debauchery, blaspheming; 5 who will give an account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead. 6 For this is why the gospel was preached to those who are dead, so that they might be judged according to men in the flesh but live according to God in the spirit. 7 But the end of all things is at hand. Be sober-minded and watchful in prayer. 8 Above all, have intense love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 10 As each one has received a gift, use it to minister to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, speak as the words of God; if anyone serves, speak as with the strength that God supplies. that in all things God may be glorified through Ihsou Christ, to whom be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 12 Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial which is to try you, as though a strange thing happened to you. 13 But rejoice inasmuch as you share in Christ's sufferings, that you may also be glad and rejoice when his glory is revealed. 14 If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified. 15 For I have not suffered for you as a murderer, or a thief, or an evildoer, or as a foreigner; 16 but if as a Christian, I am not ashamed, but I glorify God in this matter. 17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God. And if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where will the ungodly and the sinner appear? 19 So that those who suffer according to the will of God, as a faithful Creator, should commend their souls in doing good.

PETER I 5
1 The elders among you I, as a fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that is to be revealed, exhort: 2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by compulsion, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but willingly; 3 not as lording it over those who are yours, but becoming examples to the flock. 4 And when the beginning of the work shall appear, receive the crown of glory that is immortal. 5 Likewise, you younger men, be subject to the older men. And all of you, be subject to one another, clothe yourselves with humility, for God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you. 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 9 Whom resist, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same things are to be done in the world for your brethren. 10 And the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory in Christ Ihsou, after that he hath suffered a little, will himself establish, stablish, strengthen, settle you. 11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen. 12 By Silvanus, a faithful brother, I suppose, I have written to you in few words, exhorting and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand. 13 She who is chosen in Babylon greets you, and so does my son Mark. 14 Kisses one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to you all in Christ Ihsou. Amen.
