JOHN I 1 1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the word of life; 2 and the life was manifested, and we have seen, and testify, and declare to you the eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested to us; 3 that which we have seen and heard declare we to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Ihsou Christ; 4 and these things write we to you, that your joy is complete. 5 And this is the message which we have heard from him and declare to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Ihsou Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. JOHN 1 2 1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if ye sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Ihsou Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And hereby we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But whoso keepeth not his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected. By this we know that we are in him. 6 He who says he abides in him ought himself also to walk as he walked. 7 Brothers, I am not writing you a new commandment, but an old commandment which you have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you have heard from the beginning. 8 Again a new commandment I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you: because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining. 9 He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness until the end. 10 He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause for stumbling in him. 11 But he who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes. 12 I write to you, children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake. 13 I write to you, fathers, because you have known him from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I write to you, children, because you have known the Father. 14 I have written to you, fathers, because you have known him from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong and the word of God abides in you and you have overcome the evil one. 15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 18 Little children, it is the last hour: and as ye have heard that antichrist cometh, even now are many antichrists come: whereby we know that it is the last hour. 19 They went out from us, but they were not of us: for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us: but that they might be made manifest, that they all are not of us. 20 And ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things. 21 I have not written to you because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth. 22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Ihsou is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies both the Father and the Son. 23 Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has both the Father and the Son. 24 You do not have what you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning remains in you, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. 25 And this is the promise which he promised us, even eternal life. 26 These things have I written unto you concerning them which deceive you. 27 And the anointing which ye received of him abideth in you,And you do not need anyone to teach you, but as the same anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is no lie, and just as it has taught you, abide in him. 28 And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not be ashamed before him in his presence. 29 If you know that he is righteous, you know that everyone who practices righteousness is born of him. JOHN I 3 1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the children of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the children of God: and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him: for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every one that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 4 Whosoever committeth sin doeth also lawlessness: and sin is lawlessness. 5 And you know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whoever abides in him does not sin; whoever sins has not seen him or known him. 7 Little children, do not be deceived. He who does righteousness is righteous, just as he is righteous. 8 He who does sin is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed abideth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. 11 For this is the message which ye have heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 12 Not as Cain was of the wicked one, and slew his brother. And for whose sake did he slay him? Because his own works were evil, but his brother's righteous. 13 Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brothers. He who does not love his brother remains in death. 15 Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 16 By this we know the love of God, because he laid down his life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. 17 But whoever has the life of this world and sees his brother in need and closes his bowels from him, how does the love of God abide in him? 18 My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth. 19 And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him, 20 because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our hearts and knows all things. 21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence in God. 22 And whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what is pleasing in his sight. 23 And this is his commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Ihsou Christ and love one another, just as he gave us commandment. 24 And he who keeps his commandments abides in him, and he in him. By this we know that he abides in us, by the Spirit which he has given us. JOHN I 4 1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Ihsou Christ has come in the flesh is from God; 3 and every spirit that does not confess that Ihsou Christ has come in the flesh is not from God. This is the spirit of antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and now it is already in the world. 4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. 5 They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. 6 We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. 7 Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God, and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested among us, because God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one can ever see God. If we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13 By this we know that we live in him and he in us, because he has given us his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Ihsou is the Son of God, God lives in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. 17 In this is love made perfect with us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as he is, so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has hell; and he who fears is not made perfect in love. 19 We love him because he first loved us. 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he that loveth God love his brother also. JOHN I 5 1 Everyone who believes that Ihsou is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves him who begot him loves him also who is begotten of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his commandments. 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments; and his commandments are not burdensome. 4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. 5 Who is it that overcomes the world, but he that believeth that Ihsou is the Son of God? 6 This is he that came by water and blood, Ihsou Christ: not in the water only, but in the water and the blood: and it is the Spirit that beareth witness, that the Spirit is truth. 7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Sacred Spirit: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear record on earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three are one. 9 If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater: for this is the testimony of God, which he hath testified of his Son. 10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the testimony in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar, because he hath not believed the testimony that God hath testified of his Son. 11 And this is the testimony, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: 15 And if we know that he heareth us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him. 16 If you see your brother sinning a sin not leading to death, you will ask, and he will give him life, for those who sin not leading to death. There is a sin leading to death; I am not speaking about that so that you may ask. 17 All unrighteousness is sin, and there is a sin not leading to death. 18 We know that no one who is born of God sins; but he who is born of God keeps himself, and the evil one does not touch him. 19 We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the evil one. 20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true: and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Ihsou Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. 21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
