17.3 And it came to pass that night, that the word of God came unto Nathan, saying,
17.4 Go and tell my servant David, Thus says YHVH. You shall not build me a house to dwell in.
17.5 For I have not dwelt in a house from the day that I brought up Israel unto this day, but I have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.
17.6 Wherever I went throughout all Israel, I spoke to each of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to shepherd my people, saying, Why have you not built me a house of cedar?
17.7 Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith YHVH of hosts, I took thee from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be ruler over my people Israel.
17.8 And I will be with thee whithersoever thou goest, and will cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and will make thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.
17.9 And I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and they shall be moved no more, neither shall their children cause them to wander any more, as at the first.
17.10 And from the time that I commanded you to judge my people Israel, and that I would subdue all your enemies, and that I would build you a house, YHVH will build you.
17.11 And it shall come to pass, when thy days are fulfilled that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons, and will establish his kingdom.
17.12 He shall build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.
17.13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son. and my mercy will I not take away from him, as I took away that which was before thee.
17.14 And I will set him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever. and his throne shall be established for ever.
17.15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.
17.16 Then King David came and sat before YHVH, and said, Who am I, O LORD God? and what is my house, that you have brought me so far?
17.17 And this was a small thing in thy sight, O God, and thou hast spoken concerning thy servant's house afar off. and thou hast seen me as the shadow of a man, O Lord God.
17.18 What more can David add to your honor, your servant? And you know your servant.
17.19 O LORD, for the sake of your servant and your dog you have done all this greatness, to make known all your greatness.
17.20 O LORD, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
17.21 And what nation is like your people Israel in the land, whom God went to redeem as a people for himself, to make for himself a name, great and glorious, to drive out nations before your people, whom you redeemed from Egypt?
17.22 And you gave your people Israel to be your people forever, and you, O LORD, were their God.
17.23 Now therefore, O LORD, the thing which thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, be established for ever, and do as thou hast spoken.
17.24 And it shall be established, and thy name shall be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God of Israel, a God to Israel. and the house of David thy servant shall be established before thee.
17.25 For thou, O God of Goliath, hast heard the voice of thy servant, to build him an house. therefore thy servant is found to pray before thee.
17.26 And now, O LORD, you are God, and have spoken this goodness concerning your servant.
17.27 And now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever. for thou, O LORD, hast blessed, and will bless for ever.

28.21 And behold, the divisions of the priests and the Levites for all the service of the house of God, and your people for all the work, for every willing man with wisdom for any service, and the princes and all the people for all your words.
29.1 And King David said to all the assembly, “Solomon my son, whom God has chosen, is young and tender, and the work is great; for the capital is not for man, but for YHVH God.”
29.2 And with all my might I prepared for the house of my God the gold for gold, and the silver for silver, and the brass for brass, the iron for iron, and the wood for wood, and stones for setting, and stones for onyx, and all precious stones, and marbles in abundance.
29.3 Moreover, I have a treasure of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, above all that I have prepared for the holy house.
29.4 Three thousand talents of gold of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses.
29.5 For gold for gold, and for silver for silver, and for all manner of work made by the hands of the deaf. and who will offer himself to YHVH this day to do any work?
29.6 Then the chief fathers, and the chief of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and the officers of the king's work, offered themselves willingly.
29.7 And they gave for the service of the house of God five thousand talents of gold, and of cedar in abundance, and ten thousand talents of silver, and of brass in abundance eight thousand talents, and of iron an hundred thousand talents.
29.8 And the stones that were found with him were given to the treasury of the house of YHVH by Jehiel the Gershonite.
29.9 And the people rejoiced because they offered themselves willingly, because with a perfect heart they offered themselves willingly unto YHVH. and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
29.10 And David blessed YHVH in the sight of all the congregation, and said, Blessed art thou, O LORD God of Israel our father, from everlasting to everlasting.
29.11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty. For all that is in heaven and on earth is yours, O LORD. The kingdom is yours, and you are exalted as head over all.
29.12 And both riches and honor are with thee, and thou rulest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
29.13 And now, our God, we give thanks to you and praise your glorious name.
29.14 But who am I, and who are my people, that we should have the strength to offer such a sacrifice? For all things come from you, and from your hand we have given you.
29.15 For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as all our fathers were, as a shadow of our days upon the earth, and there is no hope.
29.16 O Lord our God, all this multitude that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name is from your hand, and it is all yours.
29.17 And I know, my God, that thou triest the heart, and wilt please the upright. I have offered all these things with the uprightness of my heart. and now, behold, I have seen with joy that I have offered myself unto thee.
29.18 O LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our fathers, keep this for ever, to prepare the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and to prepare their heart unto thee.
29.19 And give unto Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep thy commandments, thy testimonies, and thy statutes, to do all things, and to build the city which I have provided.
29.20 And David said unto all the congregation, Bless ye YHVH your God. And all the congregation blessed YHVH God of their fathers, and bowed down, and worshipped YHVH and the king.
29.21 And they offered sacrifices unto YHVH, and offered burnt offerings unto YHVH the next day, a thousand bullocks, a thousand rams, a thousand lambs, and burnt offerings in abundance for all Israel.
29.22 And they did eat and drink before YHVH that day with great joy. and they made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him unto YHVH to be governor, and Zadok to be priest.
29.23 Then Solomon sat on the throne of YHVH as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.
29.24 All the princes, and the mighty men, and all the sons of king David, gave their hand to king Solomon.
29.25 And YHVH magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him royal majesty such as had not been upon any king before him over Israel.
29.26 And David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.
29.27 And the time that he reigned over Israel was forty years. in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years.
29.28 And he died in a goodly return, ten days and honor. and Solomon his son reigned in his stead.
29.29 Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the words of Samuel the seer, and in the words of Nathan the prophet, and in the words of Gad the seer.
29.30 With all his kingdom and might, and the times that passed over him, and over Israel, and over all the kingdoms of the lands.
